9. Re: Jack Palance Nov 11, 2006, 10:32 WarPig

The thing I always liked about Jack Palance was how menacing he always seemed - probably in real life too. That, and the one armed push-ups he did at the Oscars at the age of 73.

A friend of mine used to do a Jack Palance impression that always cracked me up. It's kind of hard to explain but he'd get some chocolate pudding in his mouth and spread it over his teeth so the pudding would be between the teeth, making them look smaller and slightly spread apart (like Jack's - think about it). When the effect was complete he'd breathlessly say, "Believe it........ OR NOT!"

Thats it, lets continue using the term "Blue Collar" as if it were akin to leprosy.

No shit. God forbid being known as someone who can actually build something. Who and what do these elitist management types think they're going to be managing once all the skilled worker are overseas?

Hey WarPig - - (cue Hank Williams Jr.) Are you ready for some football?

Oh hell yeah! Although I wouldn't mind if I never heard the Hank Williams Jr. song again.

This - http://www.emusic.com/album/10869/10869092.html - is the only music MNF ever needed. Gives me goosebumps.

If Blue's neighbor's car was parked so that it was actually partially blocking the driveway I do believe that it was illegally parked. That might just be a Washington State law though (and I'm not even sure about that). Now I've got to see if I can Google parking laws.

BS detector sez: car crash vid is a Ford viral ad

Could be. If you look into the garage after the camera conveniently looks away you don't see anything. Sure it's dark but you definitely don't see the car or even the light that would be coming in from the back wall being punched out. And the in the aftermath you don't see any actual damage to the car, plus the wall laying on the hood looks kind of like cardboard to me.

Try Unlocker, WarPig.

Thanks complicity, worked like a charm.

Also thanks to everyone else who had suggestions, this just happened to be the first one I tried.

Woah woah woah, I had that problem under firefox and thought my hard drive must have been messing with me. I ran scandisk and my hard drive failed.

Don't say that!

[Put fingers in ears] LA LA LA LA, I CAN'T HEAR YOU, LA LA LA.

I've had this problem before and I can't remember what I finally did to resolve it (or even if I ever did resolve it).

14. question Nov 2, 2006, 15:13 WarPig

Last week I started to download the NFS Carbon demo but it got "stuck" so I terminated the download. Now I have a demo file on my desktop that is 0kb in size and can't be deleted because XP claims that it is being used by another program or user. I think Zath had this problem a while back and I was wondering if there was a way around it short of sliding it off the edge of my screen and ignoring it.

Btw - I wonder how many other message boards have both the words "malevolent" and "ebullient" showing up in the same thread. I'm adding them to my mental list of good words to use when playing hangman.

Um, wow? If you think UT2007 looks like crap, I have to wonder what you think looks good.

Consider the source. Of Carvers 18 posts, 6 bash something having to do with Unreal. But here's the kicker, and I quote: "As for Doom3, well, Best Game ever, nuff said."

Think that made my day. Wonder if he killed himself afterwards...

I'm pretty sure I read where the poor guy did kill himself - accidentally though... something about electrocuting himself while trying to fix a leaky faucet with a surge suppressor.

1) We do *two* anti-daylight saving times in the Fall so I don't *ever* have to go to work in the dark. Shift time back an hour at the end of September, and then another hour at the end of October. I don't give a rats ass if it gets dark at noon.

2) Mayo, not Miracle Whip. Miracle Whip sucks, and anybody who likes it is a loser.

1) What's this obsession /fear / fetish about not driving to work in the dark? You're driving to work. "Oh look how nice and sunny it is, it's going to be a beautiful day, lucky for me I'm going to work!" Personally I cross the Columbia river every day on the way to work and I own a boat, so for me it's - "boy the river is like glass this morning and I just saw a couple salmon jump, lucky for me I'm going to work."

2) I think both Mayo and Miracle Whip have their place in the grand condiment scheme of things, and that doesn't make me a loser. The fact that I am one is just a coincidence.

I have to admit to taking great pleasure from getting to drive MrsBlue to the train on a bright, sunny morning for a change.

Bah! Now for a few more weeks of driving to work with the rising sun directly in my eyes. Bah! Bah I say!

warm, cuddly girl?... seize the supertanker. ... warm and cuddly?... icy supertanker. ... boobies? tanker.

You know.. typing that out now, perhaps I feel some small measure of shame..

I don't know... I saw a picture of some boobies in a magazine once and they looked pretty fun.

Hey 'Pig, what's your betting line on the game Sunday?

You know, last year they might have pulled it off because of how good the defense was playing. This year, with what should be an upgraded defense... I don't know, I'm not optimistic. I'd feel a lot better with Dilfer - not too sure about Wallace.

And don't forget the classic costume of wearing nothing but a spud on your wii-wii and calling yourself a "dick-tater".
