When I was a wee lad I really, really loved to draw and wasn't all that bad. A great Christmas haul always included lots of art supplies. Then I took an art class in Jr. High School that happened to have a couple people who could do things like this Nico guy. Well, that kind of drove home the difference between what I could do and the truly gifted.

What gets me when I watch something like this are the little things like the detailing of the hair or belt. Anyway, I figure that if I had turned out to be good enough to be an actual artist I'd probably be a lot poorer right now!

In fact Roberts' run as Trapper John covered more episodes than Wayne Rogers starred in during his entire TV career, in case you were wondering if him leaving M*A*S*H was the right move.

Or if you can't find him you could always ask McLean Stevenson or Gary Burghoff!

My opinion of M*A*S*H will always be that the show stayed consistently funny up until Larry Linville (Frank Burns) left. Not only was his character great, most of the other funniest bits involved tormenting him and/or Hotlips in some way, and the fact that they always deserved it made it alright.

Lost a great online friend this week. 33 years old had a heart attack....then couldn't revive someone today at work who had an arethmia (sp). Tough week, and it just started.

Wow, that sucks Batman. Sorry to hear it.

The show is totally ridiculous, offering unrealistic scenarios and over-the-top action sequences.

I also gave the show a try - the computer hacker on a plane story - and, my god, I thought it was awful. I also like over-the-top action sequences and want to see them unbelievably pulled off, but at least have the reason for what they are attempting make a little sense. Maybe it was just because a computer was involved in the plot - that's always death. Why are TV and movie writers still treating computers and "computer geeks" like they're some kind of omnipresent being that can do anything, anywhere, and do it instantly? I guess I'm just getting too old and grumpy.

Is that what he said during the Sound Of Music clip?

Yeah, I think that is what he said. It's like he already knew what every male was thinking as they were watching the broadcast!

Bottom line... if you like it, it's there - if you don't, Blue isn't forcing it on anyone. I probably won't use it but still appreciate the extra effort.

It's snowing pretty hard around here, but I think that's supposed to stop pretty soon. Either way, hopefully everyone will be extra careful traveling about, considering the tendency on this occasion of some folks to get behind the wheel after enjoying some adult beverages. Please don't drink and drive.

It started snowing here in S.E. Washington around noon and turned to freezing rain at 4:00, and that's supposed to keep going through the night. Just got home from work and don't plan on leaving the house until Monday morning. I was thinking it might be hard to catch the drunks when nobody can keep their cars on the road!

Oh well, have a safe and happy New Year's everyone!

On a completely different note, having played through GTA IV for many hours (I've got the week off ), here are my thoughts:

I'm also playing the game. I started it last year and just quit for some reason and never got back into it. So I started from scratch last month. As much as I've done so far I can't believe I'm only 50% through. Lot's of fun.

As far as understanding Jacob goes (or Badman, geez, he's even worse) I tried turning on the captioning but they just spell everything out phonetically which doesn't help at all.

A little tip though, make sure you get Jacob to like you because the "special service" he performs in the game can come in very handy.

I think that the story "Are DVDs Ruining Your Memories of Classic Television Shows?" should probably be labeled something more accurate such as, "Am I becoming increasingly jaded and cynical as I age?"

...or maybe the more childishly optimistic "I had no idea that Barbara Eden wasn't really a genie."

The author of that piece has to be joking... right? Has to be.

I'll only consider this game if there's a "Suicidal Rampage Mode".

The first number is a three? Are you sure?

Happy birthday Blue. Maybe the other Big Blue will finally wake up tomorrow and give you a late present by beating Atlanta.

Anyone seen Camaro? Or a link for his script? Getting way to many trolls from other sites lately.

Does Camaro still come around here or has he changed his nick? I think there are a lot of posters here who used to go by some other name because I don't seem to recognize quite a few of the people who have huge post counts. Oh well, I wish everyone would adopt a Bronco type sig and announce their previous names.

Green or Blue folks.
Just using this on my home desktop computer (what I use at work doesn't qualify as a PC except for a IBM sticker on the side) which is primarily used as a gaming machine.

I just received my copy of Win7 Pro in the mail today. I went with pro for XP Mode (just in case I need it... and just in case it actually works). I also want to see how the automatic backup feature works. After going through Seagate's patented "hard drive to brick conversion" a few months ago coupled with the failure of Norton Ghost to recover my computer I thought it might be worth a shot.

Seahawks in neon lime green? Ewww! And the Jets and Titans looked like retards.

First of all, I disagree about the Titans uniforms - nothing wrong with the classic Oilers. As for the Jets... they're just confusing to me since I'm not old enough to remember the Titans (get it?) and I'm freakin' old. But since the whole idea is to honor the original AFL (and sell merchandise) I kind of like it.

Now, as a Seahawk fan I have to comment on the new threads. I don't know whether to be proud or ashamed to know that the Seahawks can now officially claim the title of "Worst NFL or AFL Uniform - EVER"! Taking the title from the '60-'61 Broncos. http://tinyurl.com/c2y2z8

Horrible, absolutely horrible.

Good luck on the cookout Blue - I've seen the weather the NE is putting up with. I wish the whole country could enjoy the damn near perfect weather we've been enjoying here in the NW. It's been pretty spectacular.

Speaking of good weather, I'll be heading to Vegas tomorrow for almost two weeks on business. Never been there before but I'm going with a group of Vegas vets... and I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not.

I think it's pretty common to have a tire go really flat when rounding a corner. The tire was probably already very low but not low enough for you to feel, especially on a country road. Then you go around a corner and the sideways force separates the tire's bead from the wheel and most of the remaining air comes out at once. I had the same thing happen last winter while driving through a round-a-bout at only 15mph or so.

* For the truly daring, follow the advice of an old boss of mine and seek out the vendor with the dirtiest fingernails.

Ok, so what was his explanation for that bit of advise?
