Oh Microsoft I can't thank you enough. Every day I get on bluesnews and laugh a little harder thanks to your shenanigans! I'll really miss it when this epic fail in progress comes to a satisfyingly funny conclusion.

After "completing" the game twice, I have absolutely ZERO interest in replaying this. Regardless of new content. But it's a great game. Kinda like a 2D minecraft, but it's much more focused on combat and exploration rather than building. In fact, building SUCKS if you ask me.

Yea for a Minecraft type game the building never was all that great. I usually would build some simple stacked homes for the NPCs and my character and was done with it. Thankfully Starbound seems to have heavily revamped building making it both easier and more fluid.

I'll def play this update, but I'll be thinking 'Starbound' the whole time. Despite the feature creep, the game really is shaping up. Hope we see beta soon.

The way the MS statement is worded, specifically 'our internet' suggests as well that owners will have to pay them to access the internet ala the 360.

And Beamer, I'm rather surprised they even went with that big a HD. After all they make a fortune selling 60gb xbox 360 HD's for $90.

Am I the only one who remembers the 'demo' for Killzone 2 for 'next gen' consoles back when the current consoles were in the works? It blew everyone's mind until the developers were all but forced to reveal it was just CG. Deja Vu anyome?

I've played around with the game a little bit here or there since the disastrous launch. A few new features are nice but largely little has changed. My largest problem (beyond no single-player/no lan) is the absolutely horrid loot design. Gear is boring and in a game that is all about phat loot, that's a death knell. How the hell did Blizzard design this game, make a gear system even more boring than WoWs, and think it would be fine. I don't give a shit if it's 'cool looking'. If the stats are always the same 3-5 things in 'every' item from level 1- 60, I'm not going to give a fuck.

Apparently they are 'looking into' the loot system but at Blizzard speed that means 'we'll fix itemization in the 2015 expansion.'

Show is ok. The races, the lore and backstory are shit. And man, Warehouse 13 is worlds better, even if it is half-assed sci-fi.

Considering early word on Titan was that it is a casual MMOG as Bliz didn't want to draw in folks new to the genre, I expect Titan is still several years away thanks to a major redesign to instead pick up WoWs slack.

I'm sure Titan will do well, no matter how good or bad it is (look at D3!) But I don't expect it to ever see numbers like WoW used to draw, simply because WoW was an anomaly.

Yea, I believe this about as much as I believed the first Kinect back when it was called 'natal'. For reference;

Yea 'some' of this is actually part of the Kinect, but most of it was just hype and marketing bullshit. I suspect the same for 'IllumiRoom'.

I used to be a real AMD fan. Sure they've almost always been behind Intel but offered near-similar performance for real nice prices. Anyone remember back when they first bought ATI. They took the idiotic stance of only allowing ATI cards on boards that used AMD processors. Well I do not buy ATI cards because of a poor history with them so for the first time since I've been tooling with PCs (the late 80's) I went with Intel because I could not find a board that let me use an AMD CPU with Nvidia GPUs.

To me that was one of the biggest mistakes they ever made. Today you can find tuns of boards with AMD chipsets and SLI. But because I switched to intel because AMD essentially forced me to, I just haven't gone back with a single build and neither has anyone I know.

That said Intel has been the assholes on the block for some time. Yea they have the best CPUs but they constantly play strong-arm tactics, pushing AMD out of every market they possibly can. Hopefully if AMD goes down another competitor will crop up. Probably some company from South Korea since thats were all the tech giants are from these days it seems. I'm a huge Samsung person myself.

It's hard to make a phone call in an emergency because the brain draws blood from the hands to be used in more immediately important functions (survival.. etc). That's why the standard emergency services number was changed to 911 from 555-1212 as it was years ago. Nobody could dial the number. Hell, anyone who's been in an emergency knows it's difficult enough just to punch in that 911.

15. Re: Skyrim Development Ends; Bethesda on to Apr 15, 2013, 12:49 Fion

Given the huge success of Skyrim I wouldn't doubt if it's the next TES. (Come-on Elsweyr!) Not that we'll see it before 2015 mind. And if it's FO4, I just hope they put a little more into it than they did with FO3 which I found myself mildly disappointed. New Vegas was just on the whole so much better.

And yes, now the mods can settle. I'm already using a crazy amount of them but I'm sure many more amazing ones will see the light of day before the next TES.

Skyrim is one of the better games I've played in ages. I have over 350 hours into the game, and I generally will pick it up for a month, play the hell out of it, drop it for a few others as new games come out, etc.

I've hardly done the main storyline (I just finished Diplomatic Immunity on my main char). I've barely touched the DLC. I have two chars, one in the upper 50's another in the 20s and I do different content with each. Companions, Thieves Guild, Bard's College, Stormcloaks. I've barely touched any of that save Companions which I've completed. On my other, Dark Brotherhood, Imperials, College of Winterhold, Coven of Namira.

Combine that with the hundreds of amazing mods that broaden and expand upon the game itself and you get one of those amazing games that never seem to end and you recommend to all your friends.

25. Re: BlizzCon 2013 Ticket Sales This Month Apr 4, 2013, 17:43 Fion

Yea Titan will probably be officially announced. Early word was that Titan was a casual game, but I think that has changed. It was initially (according to reports) because Acti/Blizz didn't want it to suck subscribers from WoW. However, I think it's been in development for ages because now that WoW has been losing subs hand over first they aren't as worried and probably heavily reworked Titan to make it WoW's replacement.

On a personal level I'm not expecting much from Titan. It'll undoubtedly be pay 2 play and I can't see myself ever paying a $15 a month fee every again after GW2, unless the game is absolutely stunningly good. It's why I haven't paid much attention to TESO, it's reportedly P2P.

I'm personally glad I got the season pass. I've enjoyed the DLC released so far. It hasn't been quite so good as BL1 stuff but still good. This is minor, the JUNE DLC will supposedly by the biggest they've ever done, and it'll be free to season pass purchasers. I cant wait.

No, GW2 doesn't have a 'hold' on 3 realm RvR. Its a half assed, poorly executed, no metagame ripoff of DAoC.

I'm going to assume you haven't played any GW2 WvW in some time. These days people bitch about there being to much meta lol.

People have rose colored classes when it comes to DAoC's PvP. Everyone remembers the good times but nobody seems to remember the mass pbaoe stun zergs and the constant nerfing that went on, some classes even being completely altered. I could never stand playing the game more than a month or two at the time because of it. The term Flavor of the Month wasn't coined in DAoC without reason.

I also think Mark Jacobs got a bit to puffed up with WAR, though perhaps that game has also taught him a lesson in humility. Time will tell.

Yea my guilds been having a freaking blast playing the Super Adventure Fun Box. Anet is running it on the official twitch channel atm for those who want to see what it's all about. Think guild wars 2 with a dash April fools goofiness and a heavy dose of 8 bit gaming nostalgia. SAFB is sticking around for the whole of the month so if you can't get to it today, no biggy.

"Installing (Origin) on my computer felt like leaving a child of my own at a Jonestown daycare center."

LMAO! That has to be the funniest thing he's said in any review in the last year.

I consider Simcity akin to Spore in my experiences. Very hyped, exciting features and early gameplay was interesting but it all quickly devolved into mindless, broken, dumbed down crap that was a shadow of what it could have been. It bothers me that both also happen to be an EA game.

uick someone find something wrong (other than lack of quicksave) and stop me from spending 60 bucks! [/quote:

You asked for it. I have one major problem with the game, design wise. The whole tonics/weapons system seems to have been dumbed down. One thing I truly enjoyed about the original was the sheer variety of customization there was. Augments for weapons, several ammo types per weapon, interchangeable tonics that you could really alter gameplay with, you name it.

With Infinate, you basically have static tonics and 4 item 'slots' with items you can put in them to customize your char a little, adding damage here, defense there, boosting weapons or powers. It's a far cry from the original, and I don't think I'll replay it any time soon because there doesn't really seem to be a reason, other than taking different story choices (that don't seem to matter at all). Mind, I haven't beat the game but I figure if I'm 6 hours in and there isn't any real customization, there isn't going to be any.

Thankfully I am really enjoying the story, the setting, the combat in general is well done. The new tonics are fun to use, though the weapons are beyond generic which is a huge change from Bioshocks awesome customizable weapons. But the lack of customization brings my score from a possible 9 to an 8 or so. Best game of the year so far, but IMHO there were a dozen games last year just as good or better.
