News Comments > Combat Mission - Battle for Normandy Announced
1. Re: Combat Mission - Battle for Normandy Announced Dec 24, 2010, 15:22 Marvin T. Martian

RTS or Turn based???
RTS are not for me.
This game is has both--players choice.
"Knowing that RealTime play is not for everyone, Combat Mission Battle for Normandy also offers the same ground breaking WeGo hybrid turn based system that propelled the original Combat Mission games to an unprecedented three Wargame of the Year Awards from PC Gamer magazine. Better still, the underlying RealTime mechanics overcome several game play problems found in the old Combat Mission WeGo system.

Play the game as you want, against the AI in Realtime or Turn Based Mode or against another Human player in Realtime TCP/IP or WeGo in PBEM (Play by Email) and Hotseat."

Held up because of STEAM--what BS!!!!
They need to remove the requirement to be logged on to steam to play as well.
Storms have caused a few extended times when internet service was down.
Could I play my single player game--nope.
Change this requirement or make it optional once the game has been properly validated.

OH well, the rest of the world will have fun with it. Your loss Elderon.
I guess after you've too much sex that you want to discontinue that too.
But it really worries me that the 1st DLC is console shit only instead of being all inclusive.

If anyone want to watch the game being played live on a xbox...

And that's my biggest worry--console to PC port. So many games ported/ruined/dumbed down because of it.

Of course it would be the US! Look at the Tea Party, Right wing fundamentalist christian republicans, George Bush winning a 2nd term, Sarah Palin a contender for President, they elect an orator with no substance or experience as Pres---it's called plain old stupidity!
Of course their computers would be a mess

oops--almost forgot Fox News, The View, Bill O'Riley

Ditch both, release a game on a disk and the masses will come.
If Steam and Live want the game--have them play tons of money to carry it.

Steam is an excuse, I doubt they have anything ready for the pc, ONO isjust hiding behind a load of BS. Probably couldn't design a decent PC game if he tried. Just console ADHD games.

He never answered the console question--so in other words he is afraid to mention just how much the game will be for the consoles and the PC capabilities forgotten and it's inclusion just an after thought port of the game---so sad

Bigpoint has also been mentioned as the new owner.

There were quite a few peeps playing. It just came out of a closed beta a few weeks ago and was now in open beta. Many SAGA players were there too.

Now the forums are gone too---no need at all to that either!!!!

A completely new multi-platform technology developed by GSC will make the core of the game.

No no GOD DAMN IT NO! Fuck, why do all good PC games go multi and more often than not fuck the game up so badly? Not saying it will happen here but... STALKER on the xbox? How the hell will that work in terms of game mechanics?? I can't see a full STALKER game doing great on the consoles.

Knee-jerk reaction I know but nowadays the word multi on a once PC exclusive game often means more bad news than good.

Knee-jerk,nah! It happens all the time and it holds true 99.99999% of the time and completely ruins the franchise.

No real surprise given the number of people that support islam in Britain now. Nor do they have the balls to kick out the radical ones.

In the UK, it's paid for by the T.V. license. Outside of the UK, it's not.

Sure it is. Here in Canada we have the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation which contributes development money to the show, as well as pays the licensing fees, and there other cable channels here that show it and have to pay licensing fes as well, so perhaps the Americans may not deserve a free game, but we here in the Great White North sure as hell do seeing as they're using our tax dollars.

Agree 100%--it should have been free in Canada, given our taxpayer $$$$ go to the show development..
