Hmm... anyone else having probs with the game keeping binds and settings? Whenever I quit and reload it goes back to the default stuff. I see it installed a .ini file in my docs folder that was locked on read only, unlocking it didn't change anything though..
Any ideas?

Well one way to find out who owns the System Shock rights would be to start making a SS mod for one of the new FPS games coming out, and then wait for someone to try and sue you. Then we'll know who owns the rights and we can get Ion Storm to buy it off them

What happens if there's no real 'military' news that week? Probably be stuck with saving cats from trees or something :/
Anyway, wasn't Kuma the bear out of the tekken games?

How comes they've called it Ultima X if it's an online jobby? Hope they create another single player Ultima in the style of the ninth,... better still in the style of Gothic II. Now -that's- how you make a great RPG. Faaaantastic. Combat needs a little work though...

Actually LHX is what I was thinking of when I typed that crap in. It was a fantastic game, we need a remake!! The chopper missions in Flashpoint are about the only thing I've played since that's come close.

Is this the flight sim that makes the genre enjoyable? :/
Why has no one made a decent helicopter sim, preferably a gunship one? As they're probably a million times more fun to pilot.
Each to their own I guess.

Well I'm in agreement with Wazooty... Played it for about an hour. Haven't got that far yet, but I'm not really over joyed. I'll scrawl my first impressions down...
Music is decent, so is the voice acting. Can't really comment on the plot as there isnt much to go by so far. Graphics are nothing special, but good for the genre. Animations a little quirky, it looks a little too fast imo. The sounds quite good. Nice thunder clap sounds and such...
Kicked the game off as a thief character (called Garrett if you must know :)), with full strength/agil/perception... just to see how the game handled it. You've got your usual sneak, lockpick, scan for traps, speechcraft etc. Sneak and find traps are handled in the simplified way that NWN does them, toggle on and off. Rather than the superior, more engrossing way (imo) of 'roll to hide in shadows', 'roll to spot traps' way that Baldur's did it. Not once had a problem spotting a trap or picking a lock so far.. haven't really tried the other skills...
Interface is OK, no real progression here. Typical inventories, spell books and so on. You can use hotkeys to get by (F1 for a list). Can't seem to rebind anything tho. As has been said combat is more comparable with Diablo's than Baldur's in that it's very simplified point and click with no pause buttons to plan a strategy, which I'm quite disappointed about.
Also the dialogue options seem a bit shallow. Just Yes, No, or Die! Pretty much. I had pretty good Intelligence too(6), so it wasn't down to a dumbass char. I know most RPGs are like this, but responses dont seem to be hidden behind funny or depraved sentences like in fallout, baldurs etc.
Quests seem a little dire, at least on first encounter anyway. First one I came across was your usual case of talking to a guard who's having probs off some group and will you sort them out if I pay you kinda thing. Wouldn't of minded but the guard in question wants 3 or 4 different groups of people(& creatures) killed. Talk about flogging a dead horse...
Your party seems to be handled neverwinter style, as in, you don't have any direct control over them, they just follow you. I could be wrong here as the only party member I had was a bear I rescued... might be different for people you actually ASK to join. The bear pretty much just followed me around and gave things a good kicking of his own accord. Had the option to disband/get him to rejoin from talking to him, but no other options from what I saw.
Overall seems a little bit more cut down and simplified than I was expecting. I want another Baldur's, dammit!!

I thought this was gonna be about a new Ultima Underworld for a brief nano second, and then the part of my brain that does the lateral thinking kicked it and said "not a f'king chance matey boy"
