I love it, maybe it will knock some of those mac guys off off their high horse.

Maclover: Oh, my risc processor is so superior to your, oh wait, you have an intel too, damn it I'll just build my own mac with an ibm processor, now where can I order those parts.

Myself: I hear you'll be able to build your own mac right around the same time the Phantom console comes out, that should be about never.

I played it on the PS2 and loved the game but absolutely despised that stupid controller, I don't understand how anyone can play an FPS or anything on those worthless button ridden inaccurate peices of crap, when will they learn that the mouse and keyboard are far superior to the fumblestick.

And I could barely see the map since the graphics were so bad on the PS2. I will definitely get it for the PC since it uses the same code as the previous version and the MTA team will certainly release a multiplayer patch for it. Although they should have released it at 29 or 39 bucks as compared to 49.

And look at yourselves all bickering in the previous posts, I should get out my shotgun and "maybe this game does make us all violent" polish it then put it back in the cabinet,.....what, did you think I was gonna say shoot someone, shame on you.

You can download a patch that allows you to enable or disable the driver from flying through the windshield "windscreen for you european types". Try www.flatouthq.com, they have a few mods and patches over there. The game was still fun as hell though playing with 6 people on a lan. Not for you true sim types but if your looking to have fun smashing things up its quite fun.

Does this one suck like the previous demo or did they fix the physics?

I tried the demo a while back hoping it was similar to Insane, the previous game from invictus that was damn fun to play multiplayer. The impression I got was that it sucked pretty hard. Here's hoping that they got their shit together on the final release. Imaging sitting backwards in the seat and driving with your ass, thats the impression I got from the demo, and I know something about driving with your ass too or is that driving like an ass, ummmmm.....you get the point.

Those almost have to be renders, It says on their website they make games for consoles and pc's. I doubt even the next generation of console could handle that. How dare they try to fool us with pretty pictures and sweet pillow talk, ok maybe not that second part but it sounded good. I love that HAL 9000 comment by the way.

Oh, make sure to run Spybot, it will pick up some things that Ad Aware misses. You can turn on the "resident Tea timer" and it should notify you of any changes to your system registry. Turn on advanced mode first and go to tools, then resident.

Complicity, just for the heck of it have you tried to completely disable system restore and see what happens, as nin said it shouldn't be happening in safe mode but I've had lots of things happen with XP that are unexplainable, even the boys at microsoft were scratching their heads trying to help me. Also, try a third party firewall and turn off xp's built in one, tiny personal firewall pro has a 30 day trial and it notifies you of every single change to your system if configured so. What is your system restore size set to? I'm going home sick today so I don't get everyone else sick at work, so I'll see what I can do to help you out. Not to underestimate you but have you ran hi-jack this also?

EDIT: looks like I didn't read your entire post carefully!!

1. Daisy Chain UPS Dec 23, 2004, 09:03 Sugarman

This was a very interesting read, I always wondered if any drawbacks came from daisy chaining your UPS. Of course I have never tried this myself( scrambles to one of our satellite stores to unplug the multiple UPS setup ),

Go to flatouthq.com and download the launchpad beta 6. Should allow you to see games on the internet and join them, i'm trying it right now to see if it works. Did you also see that it adds demolition derby to multiplayer, why that wasn't in the original release is beyond me, but it's good news anyway.

Ha, SST I didn't even look for the batteries on the buggy mission, I just jumped the gate just to the left of the main opening. Hit the rubble with the turbo on and its up and over.
I'll look for the batteries next time I play

You gotta be fucking kidding me, I knew this would happen. It wont connect to steam and then when it does it won't accept my account, says its not a valid account. Well, I have the bank statement to prove it.

You're selling yourself short Reactor by not trying to play this. If you refuse to read the instructions then just wait for the retail game with the integrated tutorial. It probably took me about 4-6 tries on the singleplayer demo while reading the readme and visiting the nexus forums before I was comfortable playing this. I will warn those who are mindless FPS fans, you can't just plop down and blow people away, you have to learn the game and then it's extremely fun and very rewarding especially playing multiplayer battles with others using a good team strategy.

Edit: And what crack were you smoking when you said it doesn't look good, buy a damn video card and pull out that gforce2mx.
Edit: oops, spelling

17. Fun! Nov 3, 2004, 19:13 Sugarman

Its pretty fun, kinda console-ish, but still fun. It should be a blast to play over the lan though. I hope we can modify the engine sounds or they have different ones for different cars or depending on mods to your car because the engine kinda sounds like someone is beating a cow really fast. I also wish their was a way to put on your seatbelt so you didn't fly outta the windshield every time you hit something, its cool at first but it kinda gets a little annoying when you really want to see what you hit or who you hit instead of your driver flying through the air and you have to wait for him to stop before you can reset your car.

This game must slow the frame rate when it detects too many poly's because it acts like it slows down on purpose so that it wont bog down your machine, probably a must for the consoles "being the wimpy little girly machines that they are". And my machine is no slouch in this department, should run speedy as hell.

Other than that the game is still damn fun to play, I just drove around smashing stuff every once in a while or drove backwards down the track just to cause carnage.

Edit: Sounds much better with the doppler off and sound settings on software rather than hardware, at least it does on my sblive.

20. PC or X-box? Oct 26, 2004, 18:03 Sugarman

Actually I have 7 computers in my basement and my friends come over to play every few weeks, so you can probably see why I'm going for the pc version. Also if your company releases mod tools how does that benefit the X-box, I'll bet this game will have some awesome total modifications if you released an SDK or some good mod tools. The mods add so much more to the replayability of a game, I probably would have quit playing BF42 a year ago if it weren't for all the cool mods.

EDIT: for spelling
