I agree with your Doom3 is a big pile of stinking shit lacking gameplay comments, but what a stretch to say that Carmack is the best at coding!

HAHAH I knew these guys couldn't pull off a decent single player game and I was right all along!! HAHA!!
Doom3 may be a nice tech demo, but it aint a game.
It's a good engine for small, tiny indoor levels, but those are so 1990's it isn't even funny!
Well, hopefully Carmack will retire to his rockets and leave compelling single player games to the developers.

After being a diehard SBlive user for years, I got sick of the bloatware and spyware that gets installed - sick of manually hacking all of creative's crap out of my system- so I switched to M-Audio Audiophile 2496. Their revolution should be using equivalent hardware, which is excellent. Drivers are spartan, but there is NO SPYWARE or BLOATWARE!!!
ANYTHING is better than creative crap.

Didn't take long for the XBOX to become long in the tooth. Lagging behind the PC, I hope that devs like Ubi Soft keep the crap box seperate from the more advanced PC and not limit PC gamers with old technology.

NEVER COMPARE DOOM3 to SYSTEM SHOCK 2!!!!
- System shock 2 was an immersive single-player experience
- System shock 2 had an atmosphere of tension and suspense
- System shock 2 has high replay value and is still an enjoyable game to play years after release
- System shock 2 required more from the player than a trigger finger
Doom3 blows chunks, Serious Sam is more involving than this overhyped mediocrity.

The gaming industry is recording record profits in a bad economy. The gaming industry rivals that of the movie industry - so no - they aren't going under.
Don't believe the hype. The gaming industry has a very powerful lobby and propagandizes its position with psuedo-scientific polls and figures. If you look at the revenue, you will find no cause for alarm.

The MANHUNT story is a fake - funny how the media even refers to its own misinformation while vomiting more misinformation.
And ID has never made an immersive single-player game and they probably never will. But their engine does get put to good use in the hands of capable developers. I've stated this before the release and now I can simply say 'told you so' now that the pile of boredom is out on the market.
