id has always been about tech demos and multiplayer. never has single-player gameplay been given any attention.
the single player experience has been ignored in all of the carmack interviews i have read, where he focuses on the minimal lighting and other non-essential elements.

Don't blame bush - he is just a dyslexic puppet. The US's war of terror has been planned for a long time, it has nothing to do with Saddam or protecting this country.

I would be suprised if the Quake engine was attempting this, but the Unreal engine has always been very capable with LARGE indoor/outdoor levels.

remove all registry entries for rockstar - perhaps the uninstall didn't catch those...
delete your installed directory in case you have any extraneous files there
lastly, delete your windows swap file and check for viruses. after not checking for years, i had 1600 instances of the Win32/Pirate virus and it would cause execultables to fail when loading.
GRISOFT antivirus is the best- bar none.

I didn't just lash out blindly at MS - I gave two very SPECIFIC examples, which no-one addressed.
And as far as OSX is concerned, it has navigated the bumpy road of crashes and incompatability just like any other OS. The problem is, there are very few developers working on the mac, as evidenced by the dearth of software.
I've worked with macs for years, but it would be a frozen day in hell if I ever used one at home, let alone paid .25 for one. The average knowledge of a mac user is far below short bus standards - I have fielded many tech support calls and am amazed at the AOL mentality persistent in the users.

MS jokes never get stale. That's because their OS's never work flawlessly. When they do, the jokes will stop.
Can you tell me why these idiots chose to keep all settings in a folder using the LFN 'documents and settings' when they could have stuck with 8.3 and allowed users to boot and swap in a new 'documents and settings' from dos?
XP caches changed DLL automatically, so there is no reason not to be able to rollback if it's a simple DLL change. NO - not system restore! That pile of crap should be turned OFF by default just like Remote Registry and Messenger service! AND why do them from the add/remove programs? Instead you have to disable the services and delete the folders. Scumbags.

CRAPPY CONSOLE influence screwed up Pirates of the Caribbean! The console-like controls for the PC make this a game of tedium.

The ads are so horrifying on this site I recommend that everyone use an updated HOSTS file in their windows/system32/drivers/etc folder
Download an updated one from http://www.kazaalite.tk/ Select OTHER from the downloads on the left side of the page.
This will prevent most annoying ads from reaching their ad servers to pull off horrible graphics. Saves the eyes!
