Nah, most are hand signed NDA's these days, Guildwars Alpha made you mail in the contract signed plus a photocopy of your drivers licence / passport.

I'd just like to point out that thief 1 & 2 had pretty complicated AI in 98 (limited phyisics, sound response, patrol routes, multiple alarm levels etc..) it's just a shame that Deadly Shadows didn't do much to expand on it and instead hobbled itself to the xbox.
Oh and incidentally, check out http://www.thedarkmod.com

Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't the cell processor also use some sort of weird secure memory model? Can't remember where I read that though and googling hasn't been very helpful.

Religion is like a photoshop filter, it adds spiffy god based effects to everyday life, for example:
Out of the corner of your eye you think you see a rat, but on closer observation it is just a discarded sock.
Out of the corner of your eye you see a rat, the devil is here ! GET THEE BEHIND ME SATAN!

Actually I would argue that isometric strategy games don't need radiosity calculations, a botch similar to serious sam's solution (application of texturemaps if my memory is correct) - With the level of 3d graphics in Aftermath the loss of true radiosity would hardly be unbarable.

You have to plan everything for them Unless you were planning on having them go inside buildings.
Edit: I take it back, they have removed that limitation and instead are having no random levels. As I understand it this is a a problem with lightmaps, you can't compile something every time you generate a random level but really some compromise should be reached - especially given that the Gollop brothers managed random level generation, destroyable terain, destroyable buildings and so on in 94'

1)Q4 will rock That's not what the video sugests.
2)Suck a cheetah's dick all you haters We didn't steal this shit from a warez beta or something, this is a freely available video released for the express reason of marketing Q4. Are we to believe they dug up the most exciting footage the game could offer? I hope not.

I agree with Ray, after FEAR Q4 just looks a bit weak. The weapon sounds were pretty uninspiring and is it me or did the rag dolls seem a little off, check the first couple of soldiers that get wasted with the pop gun then contrast it with the shotgun at the end.

Croteam have always made games that are easy to modify and expand, I suspect within a week of release there will be a tolerable DM mode. Infact I would rather have a DM made by the community than something like Valves half assed, bugged to hell, never updated solution.

How much of that 4 hours was spent reloading the russian level with the anti tank rifles - that accounted for a good 45 minutes of my aproximately 4 hours playing time.

It's funny, they talk about exactly that in the Q&A - plus they mention updating the art assets as they do the episodic content so it should be less of a kick in the crotch than halflife:source.

You are probably better off getting a 6600GT 128 rather than a 6600 256, I might be wrong but thats what memory sugests.

Damn creston got there first... If GTA4 gets AO it won't get wide storefront distribution but online retailers can carry it no sweat, with built in age verification thats good enough for porn sites no less. How many people wanna bet that little jonny will just borrow Daddys credit card.

And just because he hasn't noticed anything doesn't mean they arn't recording his keystrokes and noting down exactly what kind of porn he prefers.

Blaming the industry passes the time while the scan runs but it doesn't actually fix the computer. With a PHd in compsci you would have thought that he'd manage to download and install adaware or microsoft anti spyware, otherwise he's just going to have buy a new PC every couple of months. Personally its the waste more than anything that irritates me about this line, but then throwing away something that works is kind of contrary to my nature. Actually all the evidence is that vin diesel is generally involved in better games than he is in movies. The last riddik flic was like an excerpt from a 14 year olds roleplaying session.

Although it should be noted that the jumping demons can be shot or dodged if your fast enough, that wasn't a script, and headshots did more damage I wonder if he actually played beyond the base levels.
