Superman? I'd agree, except it's from Zack Snyder, who's last movie was Stupid Punch. So I'm not holding my breath...

They were quite obvious in not mentioning that in the teaser:

From Zach Snyder, director of Watchmen and 300!

Batman was... OK. Not quite as precipitous a fall as Spider-Man 3 was, but it was definitely not up to Dark Knight snuff. And it was waaayyyy tooooo lloooonnnggg.

Well I can't put a PS3 game in without it patching. Or firmware requiring an update, for that matter. I take for granted that Steam does this without me even noticing.

And video games have never and will never be "error-free environments". Where there is code, There Will Be Bugs. Always remember:
I AM ERROR

All that clamoring paid off I guess, $18 (wow what a deal!) for ARMA. Still too much for the privilege of alpha testing a mod, if you ask me.

Yes, except imagine how scary Dead Space would be if you were on the same space station without any weapons.

Yeah sorry that isn't how fear works. It's still a video game. You know what Dead Space would be like without weapons? A really boring fucking game that probably wouldn't have sold 1/4 as many copies. System Shock 2 had plenty of weapons and was far "scarier" than Dead Space. Fear in video games is a matter of atmosphere, not vulnerability.

So this is not a conclusive case against armed citizens any more than it is an affirmation thereof.

Actually the problem was an armed citizen killed twelve people in a movie theater. So it's a pretty clear case against armed citizens.

Apparently babies will sleep right through a loud movie and we're not allowed to criticize parents for taking an entertainment break while their baby sleeps.

Until it wakes up and begins having a fucking fit at a pivotal plot point, that is. Which it will do, because babies are stupid screaming little shit factories who ruin everything.

Video game writers want to tackle adult themes, but their audience isn't mature enough to handle anything even approaching anything beyond what they've already seen and are familiar and comfortable with. They automatically reject anything adult by writing it off as tropes and stereotyping, like you did with a game you haven't played and a script you haven't seen by writing it off as adolescent fantasy.

That's horse shit. Heavy Rain is like the only "mature" game in recent memory, and it did pretty damn well... gratuitous nudity of buxom babe notwithstanding.

Fact is "video game writers" don't exist. Games are invariably created and some kind of plot is shoehorned in after the fact. When's the last time you met a "writer" who wrote anything for a video game? That's like calling me a doctor because I gave you aspirin for your headache.

I'm not susceptible to horror anymore so I couldn't tell you what works or doesn't. All I said was the WRITING in Alan Wake sucked (as it does in 99.9% of video games), and the gameplay was hohum (which it almost inevitably is in a "survival horror" game).

Look, I was one of those people drooling over Alan Wake the PC Exclusive and accompanying E3 trailer some fifty years ago. This game which is now all of $7.50 on Steam isn't what I had in mind.

Shadow Planet is great at price. Driver requires ubisoft drm. FEAR3 is a betrayal of FEAR and emphasizes multiplayer.

I dunno, it has potential. The scariest situations are always experienced alone. The game could revolve around having unfortunate circumstances split the characters up and them struggling to get back together. Kind of turn the CoOp thing on it's head. Instead of having another player/character around for the hell of it, make that player/character integral to the survival and success of the other player. IIRC RE5 tried this, with limited success (I didn't play much of it).

I mean, that's how the basic horror movie works... You get a group of people, they get separated, and they meet their demise in singular fashion.

It was billed as a Stephen King knockoff and they did a horrible job of it. I mean King is no Shakespeare but Alan Wake was a constant face-to-the-palm of shoddy storytelling.

People spends thousands (even hundreds of thousands) on a rock (diamond), so I don't see why it should surprise you

Diamond is available on this planet in a finite quantity and will generally only ever go up in value. A few lines of code can always be replaced by... a few more lines of code.

And do you really not understand the problem with this? Markets only work when they are reasonably free. "The Diablo III Market" is quite obviously run by and for Blizzard. It's a scam. If you buy into it you've been scammed. If you don't realize this you're retarded.
