I desperately wanted to play Crysis online but it was so undercooked and buggy...

PoE is the closest thing to a Diablo 1/2

And yet it's inferior to both in virtually every aspect.

The 'game' needs incentives to work together with people

The incentive is supposed to be to stay alive, but there's no real punishment for not doing so and years of extra lives, continues, and checkpoints have conditioned us not to really care.

As far as I could see the only incentive to staying alive was to kill the raging cockfags that did nothing but grief every other player... which was like... everybody I ever saw. Zombies were a backdrop to yet-another online shooter.

When my 8800 Ultra died a couple of years ago I put in a gtx 460 and saw a very nice improvement.

Exact same move I made, except I'm *still* rockin my q6600. Been sitting on 4GB of PC6400 for as many years as the processor. Patiently waiting for some "next next gen" games to force an upgrade...

R&D used to be an important section of any substantial business in America. USED TO.

These MNCs owning and running everything are not putting up investor funding for long-term research that may very well have absolutely no ROI.

And don't even try to pretend the private sector is remotely ethical enough to manage any aspect of health care.

I don't do chicken on mine very often as there are about a million better ways to cook chicken indoors than trying to grill it

Like what? Boiling? Disgusting. Baking? Takes forever. Frying? Unhealthy oil.

The entire point of HL2CM *is* the models. The textures/soundtrack reworking are supplemental stuff.

Honestly though what HL2 really needs is a big fat world geometry poly increase because all the shiny character models and textures in the world don't cover up how flat HL2 looks these days.

How is that a trend? 99% of the tech sites I visit feature glorious, porn-level closeups of mainboard interfaces and box contents, all laid bare amidst giant, throbbing spec comparisons and wet, sloppy benchmarks.

What sites are you referencing?

Blizzard did this with the diablo 3 beta, restricting you to just a fraction of Act I.

That's because they didn't want anyone to really know how fucking awful the game was.

Q: What’s in the beta?

A: Here’s the answer straight from Lead Producer Kip Katsarelis: The Closed Beta is an important step for us as we approach our launch date for SimCity. We’ve crafted a one hour replayable experience that will let you enjoy the magic of the game and allow us to test critical features. Everyone will go through our “Getting Started Scenario”, which takes you through the basics of how to play the game and gives you a sneak peak at some late game content. After that, you’re free to start your own city and play for one hour. We’ve given you all the tools to build up a medium density city, given access to the Casino Big Business, all of the basic services, loads of public transportation options, and several options on how you can power your city. You can start up as many cities as you like during the 3 Day event. We encourage you to try to build different types of cities, explore the leaderboards and try to beat the Global Challenge! By putting these features through a rigorous test, you’re doing us a huge service. Your feedback will go directly to the Development Team and make an impact on future updates. By playing the game you’ll be testing our online servers, helping ensure a smooth launch.

BTW if you enjoyed FFXII you need to play Xenoblade Chronicles over on Wii (it runs well enough under Dolphin, too). It's pretty much verbatim the style/substance of FFXII.
