Very very very much agreed. Shit, I'll take them just going back to BL1's loot system. The loot system in BL2 just fucking sucks. What really aggravates me is the retarded "uses 3 ammo per shot." It makes shotguns basically fucking worthless, because you'll be out of ammo in a minute if you go shotgunning.
They also kill most enemies in one shot. I had a white shotgun that I used for ~5 lvls that obliterated everything. The problem is, in Borderlands 1 most ammo crates were stocked with whatever ammo you were short on, while in BL2 it is completely random. Why the fuck would I need a crate filled with assault rifle ammo when I haven't fired an assault rifle in 20 levels?
The loot really is an absolute fucking joke, though. I just finished the main boss and got... an orange grenade. The only other weapon I improved was my purple fire SMG, which went up two lvls. |

Fun story, when I was around 10-12 and was sitting on the bench during a little league game, I drew a swastika in the dirt with a bat (I probably picked it up from Wolf3D). My coach comes over and starts explaining to me what a terrible thing I'm doing while I'm completely oblivious.

The backlight on my $380 PC monitor is on the outs. Apparently, shockingly, Samsung used some shit capacitors on the things power supply and they have a history of going bad.
Time to put that one electrical engineering course I had into action and do some soldering! |

It's about the slippery slope MS now created with Win8, the potential of taking away control from the users.
Most users are not qualified to be IN control of anything other than MSPaint or Minesweeper. 99% of IT work is trying to prevent people doing things or undoing what they've done. |

What does this even mean?
It means Microsoft is trying to do with software what they did with drivers. Starting with Vista x64, the OS would not load device drivers that were not digitally signed by MS (which costs $). Presumably MS wants an OS that won't load software which isn't OK'd by them.

Oh I know, which is why we're doomed. We're too myopic and atavistic as a species. Darwin always said that the species that can best work together to overcome adversity is the one most likely to survive. That ain't us. And I believe things in the next 25-50 years are going to get immensely worse for all the reasons you listed and more. Thankfully, it's unlikely we'll be around for it when it starts to get really bad. Anyone having kids today is basically just making fodder for the Apocalypse.
Doubtful. When the shit hits the fan humanity will find a solution (or at least a way to cope). It just isn't in our nature to solve problems before they've become problems. Of course with global warming we're always hearing about crossing a point of no return whereby the earth is doomed, but I'm sure after millions of years or so earth would return to her default state again. Nothing a good reboot can't fix! |
