| I don't think federal law applies to debit cards (yet). But if you have a good bank (or hopefully a credit union) you shouldn't have any issue getting identity theft money back. When I went in to get my situation sorted, the rep told me, "don't worry, this happens all the time." Whether he sought to comfort or alarm me is as yet undecided. |

| Which would be fine if Max wasn't such a boring pathetic cunt this time, or if the story was worth mentioning. I'm in AssCreed3 atm and loving the characters/cutscenes, even if things do get pretty traditional narrative wise. |

| Yeaaahhh I understand this isn't the most awesome of evidence, but I personally had my debit compromised after using GMG and so did an acquaintance of mine. Maybe there's a reason like all banks have that site blacklisted. |

Seriously, I can't imagine anyone NOT liking it I played for like thirty minutes and it didn't grab me (so i went back to borderlands). The opening of the game was something awful. |

Javier Bardem's villain performance in NCfOM is one of the greatest of all time ... really? The whole "100% deadpan" thing isn't much of a task, for any actor. His Skyfall character is a million times better. |

I was catching Marketplace on NPR Wednesday night and guess what comes on? A spot about kickstarting video games! They interviewed Brian Fargo and talked about Project Eternity! |

Well the maps have a lot more to them, but there isn't a lot of strategic depth available to either side and the engine is a REAL dog. It's disappointing how little new material there is. Marines got a flamethrower (that is never used by anyone) and aliens got... a commander. But that isn't so bad considering how enjoyable NS was in the first place.
It's still a wholly unique experience and a good way to spend $25. The high skill ceiling of most of the alien classes makes playing well with them intense and rewarding experiences. |

They are properly tested though. Anyone can join in and test the new changes before theyre out by joining the beta channel in steam for the game. No, they aren't. The Regeneration effect on aliens used to only kick in once you were out of combat for five seconds (rendering it useless), but 229 lowered this to 1.5 seconds. A developer said this was unintentional (it rendered regeneration very overpowered and was a serious reason for alien win percentage rising drastically). Prior to build 230 the win percentage was close to 50/50, and right after 230 launches it skews massively to the aliens.
Evolving Onos eggs now requires three Hives instead of two. Onos eggs are a complex matter, and are a work in progress! This should have been more resolved before the game went retail.
Added cooldown to shift hatch ability. Shift Hatch now creates 2 eggs, but costs 5 resources and has a 5 second cool down (was 1 tres per egg, no cooldown). This absolutely slaughtered the only tool in the alien commander's toolbox.
You want to know why aliens win more often than not? It's simple. Bad players. Marines are often stocked with a bunch of dolts when they absolutely need team cohesion to win. |

| They are pretty wantonly swinging the nerf bat left and right... it's like Blizzard is at the helm. And this isn't even the latest, ANOTHER patch came out today, and they don't even post the changelog when they push the patches out. |

You don't think there's anything wrong with handing over money for stuff sight unseen? These kickstarter things seem pretty popular around here. |

The stupid thing is that PC gamers are what gave RS their start. The initial GTA games were pretty much PC only. And this is the reward we get. Yes clearly Rockstar owes you, you specifically, for their good fortune and not the fifty billion PS2 owners who bought the shit out of GTA3. |

Only difference is now Microsoft coughs up enough dough to match, so only PC, with no single giant corporation to watch over its interests, is left out in the cold. Or it could be that, you know, sales on either console will outsell the PC by like a million to one. PC sales are a drop in the bucket. Why would Rockstar spend time and money, however little of either is required, when they could make more console content that will drown out miniscule PC sales? When all is said and done on the consoles we may get a port. Or we may not. Maybe Rockstar is better off focusing all their considerable efforts and funds where the pastures are so much, much greener. |

Another clueless NS2 reviewer, or was something lost in translation?
Get up close and the fight is in your favour, so as the default dog-like Lurk you scramble up walls, hide in vents, and generally try to find an angle that the marines aren't watching. And why does he keep calling the Kharaa the "Swarm"? |

I simply don't buy something when it is an unknown. And a free weekend costs them nothing. But if the game is a year old, I won't even care about it even if it's free. Natural Selection was a free mod for a game every PC gamer owns. Hardly an unknown. |

Prez wrote on Nov 19, 2012, 11:26: I actually did read the Eurogamer review. Personally, while I found it more positive I didn't necessarily find it more fair. Of course, I'm not really one to be passing judgment on NS2 since I've only played it for around 10 hours and have had only marginal fun with it in that time. That is part of the problem, the nature of the game itself. This isn't a game you can unlock its potential in a few hours, it requires a lot of investment to unlock all its potential. That may make it a lot harder to review or enjoy it. Furthermore the quality of any game is hugely dependent on the quality of the other players. While I've hammered away at the game fiercely and gotten modestly effective at commanding and hugely effective at every alien class (especially lerk), there are still tons of bad/inexperienced players/commanders. For every genuinely well-played game there are many more awful ones. That's the blessing/curse of a game like this. And this guy reviewed the game within hours of it being released when everybody else was as clueless/ineffective as he was. As much as I've played, I haven't run into any godlike beta testers (and never a group/team of them). |
