The best description I saw of it called it "D. Souls for normal people".
It starts out very challenging but doesn't have PVP and doesn't punish you for dying. |

Dragon's Dogma... totally devoured my weekend. Had planned to play some more Diablo 3, and I made the mistake of starting Dragon's Dogma on Friday night. Totally sucked in by it, great game. Fucking eh, I just killed Ur Dragon and am just mopping things up before "finishing" the game. I've been playing for like 50 hours and enjoying every second of it. Shame NG+ is pretty stupid (the mobs aren't any harder so you are just this stupidly powerful murderer the whole game). Rather than NG+ I'm going to start from scratch on a sorceror. For a lot of the game I was absurdly powerful (started fighter, went warrior, then ended up with assassin). The most fun was definitely the earliest when I had no idea what I was doing and exploring was likely to end in death. |

| Summer my ass, it's noon and only 76 in NC. Hardly what I'd call beach weather. But who can go to beaches when there is so much Dragon's Dogma to be played? |

Divine Divinity followed with Beyond Divinity, but I understand why one would want to willfully repress memories of that game.
I say more power to them. DKS was OK, but DDiv was the bigger, better of the two. |

| I put a couple dozen hours into this game because I had nothing else to do at the time. It was a pretty awful game, all things considered. |

| Then video games taught me headshots are often too difficult and to aim for center mass instead. Besides, how many pedestrians wear kevlar? |

| Alllllll right, got Dragon's Dogma and started off with 90 minutes of barely accomplishing anything. Spent 30 minutes wandering the starter village picking up random junk. Did some nighttime combat with wolves and goblins. I get the feeling I'll be putting a lot of time into this game. |

Is it as clunky as the videos appear? It looks really poorly animated and stiff, the controls seem a bit wonky unless the people I've been watching are just silly and so on. I like the idea of it but the execution seems a bit...off and vanilla Arma was buggy as shit. Yes, the entire game is like that. Stuff like that is overlookable/forgiveable... not being able to play the game at all is not. |

| Oh shit, I completely forgot about Dragon's Dogma what with everything else coming out just now. I'm torn between all these games I want (Starhawk, Max Payne, Dogma, and I just fuckin' started playing an MMORPG to boot). |

When they finally got their asses together and fixed the new cdkey authentications (I wasn't alone), I got to play some Day Z...
Initial impressions are that it's virtually impossible to play at night (seriously, if you thought Doom 3 was dark... the only thing you can see in Day Z is the skybox) and that it's all very, very clunky. I guess ArmA veterans wouldn't mind this, but yeesh, movement (both player and enemy), weapons, animations, UI... everything is just mushy. It'll take some serious adjusting to get myself into this game (I've been playing a lot of Blacklight lately which has very tight mechanics). |

From the Bohemia forums:
There seems to be an issue with gamespy not receiving some of the new Amazon CD Keys (which then means they failed to authenticate) we're working on the problem right now. Wasn't somebody just the other day deriding me for calling ArmA 2 a broken mess of a game? |
