Yum, gotta love those chicken nuggets. Beaks & claws all round. Not totally surprising that chicken parts = chicken. I already avoid them, so no worries here.

It's not beaks and claws, lol. Though I have rarely gotten a little piece of bone in something like that (just spit it out like you do when you get something tough off a drumstick). These "scientists" (the one they quote is a professor/MD) found that the nuggets they cut up were half fat, skin, veins, connective tissue, and microscopic bone dust... AKA everything you get when you eat any cut of chicken with the bone in. Oooh, so terrible! It's not like human beings have thrived for thousands of years eating every morsel of an animal they could, no, we must be more discerning, like a child who wants the crusts cut off his PB&J.

Yeah I'm not seeing what's surprising about the findings and Blue's "Hint: Not chicken" doesn't appear to be right. "They're using the remaining parts of the chicken to make processed nuggets after the rest is used for other products? Shocking!" "This just in, an enlarged false color microscopic photo of a nugget doesn't look yummy."

This looks great! Just watching this video made me go start a game of Civ V. I'd love to have a controller to use for games like Civ V instead of this keyboard.

I don't touch the keyboard at all for Civ. It's 100% mouse game for me. It's probably be a pretty decent touch screen game.

Next year, things will be different. Because of SteamOS, not all gaming PCs will be able to run all PC games, unless one is prepared to install a second operating system.

Citation needed.

Huh... didn't even feel like 10 minutes and that's pretty excessive for my youtube viewing tastes.

Myself and other developers work from home about once a week. It's a good way to get a lot of work done without being interrupted. Though I take more personal breaks when working from home my actual total hours worked is often much higher since I don't feel like "Man I gotta get out of here." When I spend the day at the office when I come home I'm done with work. When I work from home for the day I'm likely to work late into the evening after eating dinner.

Creston, I wouldn't stereotype developers like that. That is/was your company culture. The development floor at my work is a noisy place, pair programming and constant discussion. I sit in a "pod" (not cubicles) with 3 other developers. The pods are usually setup with two experienced devs and two inexperienced. Works very well. I tend to have a constant stream of people coming to my desk to ask questions, I actually enjoy that and it's incorporated into my capacity during planning.

There is no HL3, sadly. Why would they bother making a FPS single player game, even with traditional multiplayer DM/CTF or whatever, spending millions, when they can do almost nothing and keep making bank on Steam itself, DotA 2, and other various semi-indie games they absorb like the Borg?

Because they are still gamers at heart who want to give other gamers what they want dearly? Okay, I know that may be ridiculously naive, but I kind of hope it is still true.

Yeah I always find it pretty crazy that there are people on this board who think, even though employees at Valve are allowed to work on whatever they want, that they wouldn't be working on HL3.

Also this is the second time that their HL3 dev group has leaked.

Oh ffs, not everyone is in love with Valve and that's it. Waa someone doesn't share my opinion don't post! There's an ignore feature, if one person having the opinion that valve isn't awesome ruffles your feathers so much I feel bad for you in everyday life. Swear, there's some pretty fragile people on this site.

I think you missed the point.
Judging by his underline, it was your use of "prolly" that he took exception with.
Prolly just some dumb liberal anyway since he doesn't want you to post.

I'm not particularly liberal.

Stopped reading right there, that you could say that with a straight face while constantly blaming Bush or the GOP or conservatives for all the world's woes is just fucking astounding.

That's all it takes. Find fault with the GOP and you're a liberal because you only get to pick one side or the other. No middle ground. Shake them pom poms.

I'm a big fan of arcade racers. Hate the simulation stuff. I haven't played a NFS in a long time but I like that they seem to be more like Burnout now (as expected since it's the same developer).

Wow what the hell is wrong with this BeatTheInsiders site... I DID NOT pick Miami and now the damn thing is locked. Sigh. No longer going to look at that site on my phone because that's about the only thing I did out of the ordinary on there lately.

So what do you dumbos think about that Lions game? Pickin the Bears.. Pshh.

Heh, oh please, Seph. Anyone get can lucky once in a while. Stupid Bengals and stupid Ravens and stupid Bears were not supposed to lose.

Furious2

Haha I was deep into victory beers when I wrote that. But yeah it was a great game, I think everybody knew it would be. My friends and I we we're the only Lions fans in our row, lots of orange out there. Chicago fans got shut up pretty early though, and then left in packs during the 3rd. Ended up being closer at the end than most of them probably expected.

Reggie and the defense tore it up and we kept the flags to what, two? That's a miracle.

I need to go to get to sleep early tonight so I can wake up at 7 for tailgating. That's only 3 hours after my usual work night bed time. Kind of funny that it's always on the weekends where I need to get up so damn early.

People complain about Kotaku, but that was a great article.

And the comments explain why most of Kotaku is such crap. "tl;dr" featured prominently.

Won't deny that. But even at someplace like The Verge, which has consistently good articles, the comments suck. We're actually pretty unusual here that our comments are usually well-reasoned and thought out. Comments here are at least as good as someplace like wired.

I think it's this stately layout. Comments are prominent. Not some tiny box for a txt msg.

Nobody would ever say that though. Is there anybody who would argue that anonymity is only used for good?
You set up a strawman and made a point against it.

Anonymity is a very important aspect of discourse.
Just ask Silence Dogood... Actually, Richard Saunders... Er, Anthony Afterwit... I mean, Polly Baker... Benjamin Franklin.

I'm not going to support any attempts to curtail it. Anyone operating a forum for discussion can run it however they wish of course. Which leads me to the rest of your post which seemed to be more about censorship/banning which isn't really the same discussion. I'm very much against that as well but an operator can censor without removing anonymous/aliased posting.

I for one can live with with semi-anonymous trolls, if that means that the internet remains censorship free. Thick skin and all that, I mean seriously if internet trolls get your panties in a bunch, then how the fuck do you even walk out of your door to face Real Life every single day?

So I have to disagree with you that anonymity on the internet is purely a force of good.

Where the hell did he say that?

I was wondering why the money keeps trickling in as well, and then I had this really random experience. My youngest step-daughter turned 21 last week. (I know...) At her dinner party her older sister turns to me and says "Have you seen that Star Citizen game?" My jaw hit the floor. She plays some Zelda and Mario, but I have never known her to really keep up on anything gaming related. Turns out her boyfriend showed the hangar to her...an hour later she had put some money in. Her boyfriend plays CoD and Battlefield, that is literally all of his games. The fact that he knew about this game was shocking. The fact that he is now going to buy a new PC just to play it blows my mind.

I think it shows that big leaps in graphics can still sell games. I know that's why I put money in.
