What is this some test scenario to see how far gamers will bend over :-P

I thought they already ran that test with Diablo 3.

And then the game comes out, and the AI is still the same piece of shit that it has always been.

I have always thought the AI has been made deliberately stupid out of fear of making the game too tough for people. No hardcore strategy gamer with any dignity wants to play their super hardcore strategy game on 'easy'.

When I installed the Darthmod for Empire, I was getting my ass kicked up and down the field. Which is actually a good thing, as it made me start to use real tactics.

I can't tell if you're being serious or not, but just in case...

Don't do that. That's tantamount to harassment and is otherwise a bad thing to do.

Nah, I wasn't really going to. Just like the phony character in the silly comic wasn't really getting raped to sleep by imaginary 'dickwolves'.

Personally I applaud every time someone baits the hypersensitive attention-whoring crybabies into whining about non-issues. It helps me identify those fuckers whom I wish to have nothing to do with. And if they died in a fire, I'd know not to cry for them too. Leer

This won't be AAA, but with Streum On making it, I'm quite interested. Almost guaranteed to be better than Space Marine, at least in the areas that really count. Part of the reason is that I think it'll likely be PC-only.

At first blush I thought this was an expansion for the recently released turn-based Space-Hulk game. I love everything Warhammer 40k**, so I will be following this one with much interest.

**Personally I loved Space Marine - the combat was visceral and felt so heavy and meaty. The assault pack was great fun too. I wish it had sold better so we could have gotten an improved sequel, but it admittedly had issues.

Well I managed to avoid pre-ordering it (thus keeping to my self-pledge to not pre-order a game without a huge discount to justify it) but I am itching to pick it up now. I have been burned enough to know that it's risky to buy on release day so I am taking my time, perusing the Steam forums, and reading reviews (RPS got theirs up really quickly). But so far, other than being a bit unoptimized, I am hearing good things about the game.

Not really related to the topic, but when I hear anything about this game I can't help but remember how excited I was when they released that incredible video some years back. And then how utterly deflated I felt when it was later announced that it was going to be a F2P multiplayer game.

Are you thinking of this one? Me too =\

That's the one. That video earned near universal praise from the blues community, and that doesn't happen often.

Saint's Row 4 is fun but it's pretty obvious that it was rushed. Aside from recycling Steelport and most of the NPCs, vehicles and outfits, most of the side-quests are really half-assed and simply consist of "Go complete four random activities."

Thankfully, the superpowers change the gameplay enough to compensate for this but still, it would have been nice to see more original content.

That's basically what my son, who bought it day 1, said. He mentioned that it felt more like a professionally-done mod for SR3 than it's own game, though he did enjoy it. I can stand for more SR3 since it was one of the most fun games I've played in the last decade, so even a huge mod I have to pay for peaks my interest - just not 40 bucks-worth.

22. Re: On Star Citizen's $17M Haul Sep 1, 2013, 18:07 Prez

Star Citizen has, in my many years of gaming experience, the most transparent and player-centered game development process to date.

No doubt, but given the amount of griping that will inevitably come when people interpret each and every announcement or action by the dev team differently than they intended I wonder if that is necessarily a good thing for them to be doing.

Given that that the backers are essentially the publishers (who would under normal circumstances expect frequent progress reports) it's understandable that Roberts and his team feel the need to communicate so often with the community, but I think they want to be very careful with asking for any more money at this point. There is an awful lot of grumbling going on amongst the backers from what I've seen.

Me, I am not a backer, as I am not convinced that this game is targetted towards me (an unapologetic singleplayer gamer exclusively), but as a longtime space sim nut it's virtually impossible for me not to be interested in how it turns out. Especially since with Roberts at the helm it could easily turn out that I'm wrong and that this will in fact be a game I could enjoy.

10 TB per month? Jeez, what are these guys downloading? The entire Times-Warner catalog in hi def? You'd have to be spending $400 per month or hard drives just to store all that data.

Seriously - that's just insane. Do these people leave their wifi unsecured so everyone around them can download all the movies and music they want too? I'm against bandwidth caps but 10TB is ridiculous.

Honestly, if you're hanging everything on single player I think you are going to be disappointed.

Wouldn't be the first time. But my hopes really aren't too high, so I won't be that disappointed if you are right (and you probably are).

Looks nice! I am itching to see the "big picture" though. I don't play with others, so the singleplayer portion is going to have to be worth the purchase price on its own.
