Plaintiffs buy dinners, lawyers buy yachts.

Weird.....I guess this is the first time "too soon?" actually is a yes answer? Doesn't bother me a bit. People dress up as terrorists and no one bats an eye.

I don't really find anything wrong with it myself, but knowing how sensitive everyone is (and in this case it is admittedly at least somewhat understandable) if I did something like this with such dark humor I wouldn't show up at work and I certainly wouldn't post pictures on the frickin' internet. She clearly wasn't thinking, but the response she has received is so ridiculous it completely overshadows her poor judgment.

I gotta say that seems like a bullshit excuse, but I'm not surprised. I would prefer developers just say you'll port it afterwards and don't give a reason instead of insulting us.

There has to be better solutions out there than this garbage.

Undoubtedly. But you know what? No one was doing a thing to come up with better solutions. No one was interested in trying to fix what was very obviously broken and getting worse every year. While it isn't the best solution, it is the only one that anyone has bothered to put forth. Had something been previously done to begin to fix the huge problems with health care coverage in this country the ACA would have never been necessary. Nothing was, so we're stuck with this for now. Hopefully it will be fixed and tweaked down the road, since it is undeniably a mess in its current state, but it's a start. As far as cost goes, health care costs were already skyrocketing before the ACA. It was going to happen with or without it. Rising costs is just a fact of life we all need to deal with.

Still waiting for you to explain why Obamacare is such a great thing btw, given all the evidence to the contrary.

I am not going to claim it "great"; rather I'll give you a few things that I like about it myself. I speak for no one but myself here btw.

1) Health plans can’t turn you down or charge you more because you’re sick or have a health condition - that's huge.
2) Puts a cap on yearly out pocket expenses for things like medication.
3) It mandates pediatric dental coverage, which sounds like a small thing but doctors have linked many health problems later in life to poor dental health from an early age.
4) It eliminates annual or lifetime dollar limits for health plans. At my company the limit used to be a million dollars and then you were dropped. In today's world that isn't much, especially if one or more of your family members gets cancer.

Yep. One of the most powerful scenes in "The Walking Dead" game involved an infected child. People who don't like it don't have to play, but they don't have the right to dictate to developers what they can and can't put in their games.

RollinThunder, I really have to disagree with you on the way the media reports about racial violence. The story of the Australian man shot by bored kids ( one of whom was white iirc) was covered by all of the mainstream networks. CNN had just as many stories covering it as Fox news did; surely you are not going to say they are biased against white people too? None of these stories are swept under the rug. Some of the stories (like the Trayvon Martin one) have way more facets to cover as well as a dynamic nature since there was the lack of an initial arrest and rallies for "justice". And of course the media is going to cover every single antagonistic thing angry protesters say and do since it gets people angry, getting the other side riled up escalating the war of words and giving them more juicy shit to cover. Had those bored black teens not been initially arrested the same thing would have played out with white protests and the like. And the media would have been more than happy to cover that too.

Wow Blue -- you just lost a reader. A reader that doesn't use ad blockers. Did someone 'tell on' me or is it just your bias against me? While this comment might have warranted removal, the last one you removed did not (it was a link to an article!).

There are plenty of other people that post insults here and you have no problem leaving them unremoved.

And don't even try and justify it with language appropriateness based on age. Some of the ads you have on your site are offensive and very inappropriate (F2P MMORPG's with blatant sexual content anyone?).

Your actions prove that you are an asshole as well. You have yet to justify them.

I challenge you to leave this post intact -- I'm just calling a spade a spade, and I encourage you and others to justify your actions.

Not cool. At all. Yours was not the only post removed in this thread. And if Blue has a bias, why has he left all of the rest of yours , RT' s , and Mad Max' s posts? Looks to me you have a persecution complex.

Conservatives pretty much consider the current sitting Democrat president the worst president in history, and vice versa. In truth the presidents in our lifetime have largely been middle of the pack as far as historical ranking.

Would you mind reading my "where is the money going" post and telling me if you understand what I'm saying?

Is it me, or is it RollinThundr? Because "if US citizens, as a whole, are earning more money, but middle class income isn't seeing their wages grow proportionately, then where is the money going?" seems simple enough to me...

I haven't vetted the numbers myself but assuming they are correct it would have to mean the money is going to the wealthy. Which is certainly what I am seeing at my company.

Thought I had included your previous post before hitting send, it still stands though, I hate the double standard that it's ok and even excused to be an unproductive member of society just because, COLOR!

No one is "excusing" anyone for being unproductive. But many people who are unproductive need a little help to become productive - it seems to me that it would be more helpful enacting programs to do just that rather than getting mad at them (or one particular group of them as you seem to be), browbeating them, abandoning them, or disregarding them. And again, poverty isn't a 'color' issue. If race seems to be at the forefront of things like violence and poverty I say you can thank the media. If it riles everyone up about race it gets more people watching their news - it's good business to have separate groups at odds. It gets people emotional and escaltes the "war" that they are all to ready to report on, and the process continues.

I never learned much about the TV technologies, which I guess is due to lack of interest. I watch relatively little TV - I'm strictly a Netflix, Amazon, and Hulu guy with the occasional football game via antenna. But I love my plasma TV's. My oldest is three and a half years and it still has a great picture.

Because Prez, if you suggest culture change, automatically out comes the "you're racist!" card. Want to know the reason blacks have such a hard time being productive? It's simple, the majority have no sense of a family unit or a structured environment, women popping out kids with multiple fathers, often no father figures, drug abuse, etc.

Your making the uncomfortable mistake of equating "poor" with "black". I lived in a depressed area in cetral Pennsylvania where 46% of people living there were on public assistance of some kind. And every last one of them was white - virtually the entire community of some 12000 people was white. Poverty knows no race. It would be folly to pretend that poverty doesn't affect a large portion of the African American community, but it is not the black culture in my opinion that leads to poverty; otherwise 100% of blacks would be poor. Poverty is a culture unto itself, wherein the attitude is defeatist acceptance that there is no way out and personal dignity is slowly stripped away.

No, not even close. Today's poor ghettos are NOTHING like what life was like back then. The crime is still shit (although nowhere near as bad), but they actually have electricity, clean water, sanitation. Hell, we live in a country where the poor own Playstations and cell phones. It's practically impossible to starve to death. Our poor are like the middle class for most of the world. But keep on exaggerating reality to justify reaching for that liberal utopia you will never see.

He really isn't incorrect. Yes the poor in America have it better than the poor in almost every other country, but he was talking the income gap. Yes, the standard of living has improved for the poor, but at the same time the rich (who I have nothing against, believe me - hell I wish I was one of the "evil rich"! ) have seen their incomes and wealth skyrocket, meaning the gap remains equally as large.

If you are so upset about the "wealth disparity" maybe you should donate some of your vast wealth you claimed to have. What about those 14 combined poor guys you claim to make more than? Be charitable or shut up. Do you even know any poor people? Have you ever spent 1 hour of your life in a soup kitchen? Have you ever donated to a food bank? Do you do anything unlike the typical liberal talking about the poor without acting?

I'm confused as to why empathizing with the poor who need help (not talking about the ones who do nothing to help themselves here) and looking for societal solutions to do so somehow means one should feel obligated to give up his own wealth to do so. Especially when the scale of the problem is such that one person donating everything he or she has but the shirt on their back won't make a dent in the problem. Donating your time at a shelter or soup kitchen is indeed a worthy and noble effort, but by itself will not fix the root causes for the widespread poverty in some places. Not everyone who lives under the poverty line is a deadbeat loser who wants to leech off of society while getting fat on twinkies and ribeyes paid for with welfare money.

Personally I think the answer lies more in education and cultural change rather than "robbing the rich to give to the poor" but even so things like that will take time and money. I don't think it's okay to just say that they should either suck it up and except their lot in life or figure it all out on their own, because chances are they won't. Believe me, I'm with you - for the healthy ones with stong backs or sound minds, most of the heavy lifting in the pursuit of their better life has to come from themselves. But helping them along the way to make sure they have the opportunities should not be considered a waste of money or turning the country into a nanny state - it ought to be considered how a decent civilized community operates.
