If you haven't grabbed Expeditions: Conquistador yet, run, don't walk, to get it. Totally a steal for $5. I don't know how or why this was overlooked by so many people but it's a gem. Ima probably give this another playthrough again very soon. I hope it did well enough to warrant a follow-up.

Thank you. Sold.

Yeah, me too.

"This is the most definitive SimCity experience whether you choose to play Online or Offline."

...as long as you forget about Simcity 1 through Simcity 4. Do they actually think people buy this shit they are putting out?

The amount of horseshit that gets shoveled out by gaming companies and lapped up by game "journalists" has reached epic levels.

For those who enjoy this, the game is currently on sale for 30% off its regular price.

For everyone else, there is the requisite Derek Smart flaming in the thread to enjoy!

It was a sad day when Popcap was bought by EA. It took a while for the ax to fall, but fall it has.

Yep. I know they probably got a nice paydayfor being acquired by EA, but it marked the end of an exciting developer.

You're probably right. But some of these young professional players build their whole life and identity around it. Part of his suicide note was :

"I know I could have done better, but thanks to these events my professional career was over," he added. "After practicing to my best for a year, all I had left was a feeling of emptiness."

It's sad when you get to the point where a meaningless competition seems all important. But I imagine there are hardcore athletes in most sports who feel the same way.

Yeah, the Asian hardcore gamer scene is scary intense. I'd like to think Asian gamers would be able to keep the game in perspective, but like you said, how sad is it that some of them feel it's their only useful purpose.

Sensationalism notwithstanding (which The Escapist has already apologized for), that is an absolutely horrific story. This woman raised this kid herself and her thanks is to be beaten to death by him. This kid has some serious issues - hopefully they have a better mental health system in the Phillipines than they do here in the US.

I watch enough of the TV and movies and get enough stuff delivered to make 99 bucks a year an easily justifiable expense. Rising prices is just reality of modern times. It wouldn't hurt nearly as much if wages were rising to offset them, but that is another discussion. (Meaning don't start that political shit in here!!! )

Have you tried the AIX mod for BF2? It's so awesome: new maps, new vehicles, new BOT AI, etc. So much fun.

Oh yeah! It is amazing.

The last MOBA I tried was Demigod, and only in singleplayer, which wasn't too entertaining for too long due to sketchy AI. If the singleplayer in this is decent I might give it a whirl.

Honestly, I don't know why companies like ea and Activision aren't hunting down the companies ...and specifically the PEOPLE being paid to provide hacks. They should have legal grounds to do so, as it subverts the original design of their software. Maybe that's where it'll eventually end up, but for now, banning the cheaters solves nothing. It's like scolding a drug addict and believing that'll stop the illegal drug trade.

The funny thing is that the community does a pretty good job of addressing things itself when it has the tools but the companies keep taking away more and more control. Activision/etc can't really sue the companies providing the hacks, many are in foreign countries and new ones will spring up to replace old ones quickly.

This is the number one reason I stopped buying mp shooters. I suck at them to begin with; at least when there are client-side tools I can set up co-op servers against bots and enjoy it. I still am playing BF2 and BF2142 (with co-op mod), but I'll never touch a modern BF.

There’s little that tends to unite a leading liberal like Dick Durbin and a conservative firebrand like Ted Cruz.

But when the two senators join their colleagues for a hearing this month on Comcast’s $45 billion bid for Time Warner Cable, many of them will have something in common — they’ve each collected Comcast cash.

Tell me again how the Republicans and Democrats are different? This is why I scoff when I hear comments like "My party of choice cares more about the people than your party of choice!"

What ever happened to Godus? I haven't heard anything about that in yonks.

It seemed to go dark after reviewers like Total Biscuit and Worth a Buy dude picked apart the alpha. Often those two are too critical I think but the game mechanics did look kind of crappy (CLICK!CLICK!CLICK!CLICK!CLICK!CLICK!). Maybe they are fixing it up...

People around me water their lawns like frickin' crazy. It's unbelievable how much water people waste. I'm all for putting in astroturf myself - I never water my yard. I think the only thing we should be watering is our flower gardens and our vegetable gardens.

Really robdot? I thing the majority find access to PC games easier then ever due to digital distribution options. I can't think of the last hard copy game I've bought. When I think back, that was a bit hard getting use to, but now I much prefer it. Now the major problem many of us have is a growing library of unplayed games because they're just so easy to buy... and the sales can be so tempting!

This. Definitely describes me.

Oh, and for those complaining about the download - forget it. Those of us who played the beta will have noticed that the audio decompresses during installation. You're not downloading 35gb of audio data.

Thanks for the info.

Yeah that's the problem. On today's average hard drive 48G isn't a whole lot, but depending on which provider you are stuck with it could be up to a quarter of your monthly data cap.

Heh, I know most religious types are pretty decent people but I just look at the problems its caused and continues to do so. It really is man's greatest calamity.

That I don't disagree with at all. Many of the greatest atrocities of humankind were perpetrated under the guise of being "the will of God". That said, I don't presume to tell anyone where they should seek their personal fulfillment from. Be it from the Bible, art, philathropy, goat porn, whatever... whatever makes you happy.
