That's like saying "Fugliness aside, Roseanne Barr is in my top 5 list of all-time hottest chicks I've ever seen".
Dude, get real. Daggerfall is one big bug. It's a big, fat, retarded bug in and of itself. It's easily among the five worst games I have ever had the misfortune of playing. I wouldn't touch this free download with a 10ft pole. It's a complete waste of bandwidth.
Uh, sure, whatever you say, chief. |

TACF - Christ dude, it's not even out yet.
It's not the end of Valve as we know any more than this is the end if ID as we know it. If this were anything other than a Zenimax merger/buyout, I'd be worried... but it isn't.
When has Valve ever said they're dropping DLC for L4D, btw? And did you read the recently published list of most anticipated games of E3? Guess what was in the top 10?

13 years ago, I was hitting Quake Command multiple times a day looking for Quake Kart news.
13 years ago, I was playing religiously on quake.ntplx.net.
13 years ago, I knew that Zoid from Threewave was destined for greatness. Metroid Prime does not disappoint.
13 years ago, Wedge and Choryoth were front runners in the community. Seems fitting that they contributed to one of the most revolutionary entries into the first person genre.
13 years ago, I'd install server-side progs.dat that allowed me to control rockets from first person perspective and screw with my friends on LAN
13 years ago, I learned the early beginnings of networking which inevitably launched me into my career.
13 years ago, I had my first real taste of what community mods were capable of, and the magnitute of the Quake frameworks possibility.
13 years. Damn.
Has any other game launched more careers than Quake and its' children (Half-Life, Quake 2, SiN, etc...)? Doom gave quite a few people their starts, but as far as I know that was nothing compared to the impact Quake had on the industry.

This is the best thing to come out of E3 in my opinion. Mirror's Edge was one of the only true innovators of last year. The first generation of anything is rough around the edges, but the game was definitely worth the full price of admission and the genre is worth further exploration.
It was really the only game in all of 2008 to nail me to my couch to play through it, even if it was short. I beat it without shooting anyone the first time through.
What do you want? Another reskinned first person shooter with the same old mechanics that we all wore out on our 28.8 modems with Doom and Quake?
It breaks my heart to see such a great game get trashed because it's misunderstood. |

Wowbagger, I remember it the exact same way. Every magazine at the time pimped it as the next big thing, and I felt it was so weak that I actually pitched a fit to Electronics Boutique to return it lol
I loved perfect dark zero, though |

I give my dog tomato juice with her food It sounds like ripe tomatoes are less problematic than less ripe ones and the plants themselves, you should be aware that tomatoes are not good for dogs. Here's word from http://lacetoleather.com/fataltodogs.html - the first page that Google found on the topic:
Tomatoes (plant and fruit) contain tomatine, an alkaloid related to solanine. As the fruit ripens, the tomatine is metabolized. Therefore, ripe tomatoes are less likely to be problematic for animals. Clinical signs of poisoning include lethargy, drooling, difficulty breathing, colic, vomiting, diarrhea or constipation, widely-dilated pupils, paralysis, cardiac effects, central nervous system signs (e.g., ataxia, muscle weakness, tremors, seizures), resulting from cholinesterase inhibition, coma and death. (This information comes from veterinarians, and the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center.) (All parts of the plant except the tomato itself are poisonous to humans, although some people are sensitive to the ripe fruit also.)
Tomatoes also contain atropine, which can cause dilated pupils, tremors, and heart arrhythmias. The highest concentration of atropine is found in the leaves and stems of tomato plants, with less in unripe (green) tomatoes, and even less in ripe (red) tomatoes.
Interesting, but I think that applies to Tomatoes not so much processed tomato juice. The solution was initially suggested by my vet during a routine dental cleaning. He said the only thing I'd have to worry about is that it'll make her drink more and need to go out more (the salt content is high in processed tomato juice). I give her about 2-3 table spoons at breakfast, she seems to love it.
I'll bring up the link you posted to him next visit.
edit: reading that link, seems like everything will kill my dog

I fought this in my house for years... apparently, female dogs have a higher PH content in their urine and that's what kills the grass.
So, every other day I give my dog tomato juice with her food and I haven't had a problem since! Strangest thing. There are also more expensive PH treatments you can add to their food, but tomato juice worked for us and it can be had on the cheap.
Give it a shot!

I bought the Jaguar for the AvP game. I liked it, but mainly because my pride wouldn't allow for anything else. That system cost a ton.
AvP was great, but I don't get why AvP 2 gets such a bad rap. It was equally as fun, and even better multiplayer than the original. What gives? Anyone want to enlighten me? Both had surprisingly good atmosphere and were appropriate uses of the license... |

Duke 3D on the Xbox Live Arcade is giving me an opportunity to play through the game again with a few friends who never got to experience it the first time around.

Space,
Prey was originally designed and developed alongside Unreal as a competitor. I believe the primary programmer on the project had a brain aneurysm and died, so the project was shelved for a period. The prey today is a totally different product from what was presented long ago, with the only similarity being the Portal technology.
I didn't fact check, this is straight from memory, but I am pretty sure it's moderately accurate. |

I'm with you Prez, I absolutely loved Battlezone... I wish they'd develop a new game in the series.
This will have to do. I found my copy but the CD is cracked, so I am ordering a new one off ebay. Still have the original, too (which I always preferred) |

What's funny is that Bethesda has ALWAYS released buggy games.
Daggerfall is one of my favorite games of all time, but it was so buggy at launch that you couldn't even beat it. Such a great game, anyway.
The Terminator games were also really good, but multiplayer on LAN was next to impossible to get working correctly, and when you DID get it working, games lasted 10 minutes at most before they bugged out.
Bethesda is a top tier developer in my eyes but the issues with bugs and technical problems is something that goes way back in their history. |
