I know what you mean. 'The Gravemaker' would be some doofus that dropped his gun all the time whilst 'Popeye the sailor', would slit your throat, rape your wife and post a mutilated limb to your parents house every other month, along with his moniker can of spinach.

Still you have to think about your legend. Carlos the Jackal works. Carlos the Care Bear?

Oh man, that article on the Mexican gang nicknames had me laughing my ass off. Goddamn, that's some seriously funny shit. LOL! Chunky the Diabolical Doll! Ahahahahaha!

Next time I need someone taking out, I'll just call Winnie the Poo to pop a cap in thier ass.

I mean really! If you were a bad ass killer, you'd call yourself the 'Widowmaker', or 'Reaper'. 'Winnie the Poo'? What was he thinking?

People have an annoying tendancy to "steal" names, either intentionally or otherwise.

Or steal from brand names, as in Del Monte or Levi if you remember that link. If you want something original, fish out an old reciept and pick a purchase at random it seems. At a pinch, spell a normal name really poorly. Et voila! You have a new old name that sounds a bit foreign!

Never heard the name Halsy or Sawyer as a first name before. Is Halsy short for something or mean anything?

Wow, that Warhammer video is certainly worth a download. The fight animations and model detail are next generation in comparison to warcraft 3. It wouldn't make a bad fps for Gods sake!

Fun demo! I kinda disturbed myself by having to repeatedly stab a lady in waiting as she ran screaming through the castle. And the corpse yoga is plain silly.

I'll get it if nothing better comes out in the meantime as It's two weeks till release here.

What the hell???

Danish IT firm gives workers free Net porn

http://www.theregister.co.uk/2004/05/27/danish_free_porn/

Forget luncheon vouchers, Danish IT outfit LL Media has set a new benchmark in worker welfare by handing its workers free subscriptions to Net porn sites. The company hopes that the freebies will stop randy Scandinavian employees from accessing Web smut while at work.

Nielsen apparently also expressed the hope that the initiative will make his staff "more relaxed on the job".

Those crazy Danes! I remember one of my old work collegues once getting his porn power point slideshow mixed up with his work power point slideshow during a meeting in front of the boss and 20 others! At this place, that'd be the lunchbreak!

Most people were hostile to checkpoints. Bad checkpoints are a nuscience but so is having to quick save a game after every firefight, taking away the fluidity and immersion of the game. It's more like the quicksave game! - how fast can you hit F9! Obvioiusly having both is best, but I'd prefer good checkpoints to an autosave function, and far cry does that 90 % of the time.

18 from play.com just gave me the confidence to get this one (so long as some more positive reviews and the Ray review smiles down on it!)

Try turning your sound up for Kaffee Jolt otherwise you cannot hear the background music very well, which is important as it happens.

Moo if you ever ate a dodgy economy british burger in the 80's!

Moooooooo! Mooooo!

Actually one 'worse case scenario' estimates that 4000 people could die from it. As 2000-3000 people die a year on the road, these things have to be put into perspective.

Chances are the grim reaper will sneak up on me and whack me with some unheard of disease that'll get named after me before being consigned to the history books.

Who would have thought feeding the diseased bovine flesh that collected in the abbatoir sluice trays to other cows would cause a problem eh?

Moo!

Fucking robot spiders with a human head? wowow how scary and inovative the art team are. Instead of HL2 out of this world enemies we get generic cliche monsters that have been in every game since..doom.

So how are aliens more original than demons again?

You didn't elaborate before. I read your previous posts. You just slag it off without any measure of balance, just rabid fanboyism for HL2. Shitty textures? Terrible monster design? What??? You are just throwing out propoganda that makes no sense at all or is down to personal preference that you state as though it is the law. The guy above made sense. You don't.

As to why you hate a game so much to continuously post 'it is shit,' over and over so that it makes up half of your post history is baffling. How can you be so angry all the time? I hate MMORPG but I don't post 'This genra is SHIT' over and over whenever one is mentioned. That would be trolling. That is what you are doing.

lol! The multiplayer does look lame though. I'm glad I coerced that much thought into your post.

I remember when my old undergraduate supervisor breathed in hydrogen cyanide gas. That was an 'oh shit' moment to be sure. Hospital trip and everything. His own fault, he was being a sloppy Chemist.

I was always a little nervous working in the same fume cupboard with him after that!

The problem seemed increased as only a few people dealt with cyanide gas in our University. Those that did went on a training course on how to deal with someone who had been exposed to cyanide gas, but the thing is, in all probability, the person using it was the one most likely to breath it in. So you're going to be lying on your back shitting yourself, trying to tell people the emergency procedures as you are convulsing on the floor, near to passing out. Great!

I hope this game and HL2 comes out soon so all the trolls will go back to their caves to play the respective one they so think is vastly superior to the other. Take Kobalt for example. His last 4 posts no less have been 'doom 3 is going to suck' and 'doom 3 looks like shit!' Look! It'd be a valid remark if he elaborated but no. There are many others like him.

Stop posting nonsense.

Han shoots first? That new scene sucks. You wonder why Jabba employs a bounty hunter who cannot hit a stationary target sitting oposite him. Didn't Jabba suspect anything when Greebo kept on walking into doors and couldn't see shit 5 meters away?
Obviously the empire hired all the sharp shooters into stormtrooper academy leaving him with the myopic gimps...

Oh.

I thought about mentioning the gods and all that. Sure there is a heavy ammount of fiction and all in the book, but like that link I posted says, they get all screwy with the timeline.

Archaeology magazine says the depiction of Homeric Troy (circa 1200 B.C.) is a "chronological train wreck," with princesses bedecked in jewelry from about 2000 B.C., heroes riding ships from 800 B.C., and fallen warriors who have coins placed on their eyes, even though such ceremonies and indeed, even coins weren't invented until centuries after the action supposedly takes place.

It's like doing Pride and Prejudice against the backdrop of WW 2 with everyone using mobile phones

The big announcement was that they are to copublish The Matrix Online.

And what a public relations coup it was from the ecstatic Blues news readers. 9 out of 10 posters asked, said 'Fuck You Sega!'

One of my pet peeves is Hollywood tearing up history http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3217961/ (half way down). Troy is plain crazy for that. The writers have done a history pick 'n mix that would make Mel Gibsons' William Wallace blush. People who watch films but rarely read books or watch documentaries on history must have the most bizzare notion of what happened in the past. I can appreciate a little poetic licence but really.. I'd hate to think what cross pollination from film my knowledge of history has...
