Maybe...just maybe you really hate squirrels, Blue.

Just picked up the new Strummin' With the Devil CD and it's a good time - for those who like the bluegrass (the non-smokeable kind).

I agree the campaigns could have used a lot more balance. Those campaigns where you're being chased by a hero whilst trying to get from A to B are fucking annoying. There's virtually zero room for error and, more or less, have to be completed a certain way or you're doomed for sure.

Add to which having to do all the campaigns in order sucks hard. And why the hell can't I pick my race on non-campaign maps, when the first thing I wanted to do was check out the undead. That's not good game design.

They need to get the editor out ASAP!

13. Kung Fu! Jun 5, 2006, 13:20 Halsy

Woot! Fans of the classic TV show rejoice!

Cult TV show 'Kung Fu' is to be made into a blockbusting Hollywood movie.

(BANG) - Cult TV series 'Kung Fu' is being turned into a movie by the producers of 'Superman Returns'.

The project is the brainchild of Legendary Pictures, behind this summer's hotly-anticipated superhero blockbuster.

The screenplay, which is currently being penned by Ed Spielman, is said to closely follow the adventures of high-kicking Shaolin monk Kwai Chang Caine - a Chinese criminal on the run in 19th century America.

Producers have revealed the adaptation will take place mostly in China and focus on the events that lead Caine - originally played by 'Kill Bill' star David Carradine - to the Old American West.

So far, no director or cast has been announced, but film bosses have confirmed that Carradine, now 69, will not return to the project, nor will it be a special effects-laden movie.

Producer Scott Mednick said: "We're not looking at this as 'Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon,' with people flying all around. The actual priests of the Shaolin Temple can do things that are amazing without wire work or special effects."

If my words did glow with the gold of sunshine
And my tunes were played on the harp unstrung,
Would you hear my voice come thru the music,
Would you hold it near as it were your own?

It's a hand-me-down, the thoughts are broken,
Perhaps they're better left unsung.
I don't know, don't really care
Let there be songs to fill the air.

Ripple in still water,
When there is no pebble tossed,
Nor wind to blow.

Reach out your hand if your cup be empty,
If your cup is full may it be again,
Let it be known there is a fountain,
That was not made by the hands of men.

There is a road, no simple highway,
Between the dawn and the dark of night,
And if you go no one may follow,
That path is for your steps alone.

Ripple in still water,
When there is no pebble tossed,
Nor wind to blow.

You who choose to lead must follow,
But if you fall you fall alone,
If you should stand then who's to guide you?
If I knew the way I would take you home.

By chaos I presume he's talking about random deterministic numerical forecasting. I don't think the game code and card can get into things quite thet complex. Anyway, I said from day one it'd be a flop.

Rock on, Kane. Yeah, I've seen Luther and them a few times.

And Prop, I've been listening to John Prine for many years, Diamonds in the Rough being my favourite album of his. I've always been big into folk, bluegrass, classic country, etc.

Another great bluegrass cover was Luther Wright and the Wrongs who did an entire cover of Pink Floyd's, The Wall.

These guys are a ton of fun.

I know ATI is hiring atm. A buddy of mine is an engineer up there and just put in my resume for a sales engineering position with them.

Workopolis is probably the best site to check. There's also Torontojobs.ca which is ok.

Also if you can target the field you want specifically you can get lists of companies in that specific field and target specific companies which is always a good way to go.

I'll keep an eye out for you, Dan.

7. Second Life... Jun 2, 2006, 12:21 Halsy

With the exception of the 1988 Oldsmobile Aerotech, it's no shame that none of those cars got beyond concept... though I am European so think all American cars are ugly

Yeah, some of those cars are goddamned amazing! It always drives me nuts that the designers can come up with such cool cars and never manufacture them. I understand why they aren't produced immediately, but you'd figure several years after the introduction they'd easily be affordable to mass produce. Much like Homer I want to blast across the alkali flats in a monkey navigated, jet-powered rocket car!

Everyone check out that bit of machinima from Second Life (Silver Bells and Golden Spurs), very cool indeed.

Is anyone here into Second Life at all? I think I'm going to give it a shot - seeing as it's free at the base level anyway. Looking at some of the stuff people do in there is pretty wild.

Whilst Oblivon is ok there is nothing Bethesda is making that's worth a buck or three with so much free content coming out - lot of garbage to weed through too.

Just get me NWN2 already and I'll happily forget all about Oblivion.

Gadzooks, what a farce! Lou Dobbs should run as an independent for President. I'm certain he'd win at this point.

It ought to be $4.95 and that's all I'd ever pay for it. Thanks, but I'll pass meanwhile. Episodic content is overpriced for suckers.

11. Goddamned Wildcat Strike May 29, 2006, 16:59 Halsy

Friggin transit union walked out today in an illegal strike here in Toronto. Good thing my boss is cool and let me take the day off.

Why don't these boneheads understand there are ways to endear oneself to the public and ways to make enemies of them. Today was a prime example of how not to get people on your side.
