Somehow I don't remember a PC version in 1997.

Actually one of the first games I bought to stress test my voodoo 1 card.

I hate open sessions, I only play closed friend sessions with my own friends. No cheaters and generally a fun time.

Yeah nothing to do with BR, just that the tech can move that type of capacity that quickly... in labs... in 2030.

Actually in a lab today..., however I doubt we'll see anything commercial anytime soon. IBM has sold their semiconductor manufacturing capability so now they just do research and design and sit on the patents.

How so? There were tons of NPCs walking around and doing ambient activities. You could hack into each one's phone, learning their identity, hobbies, medical history, etc, and eavesdrop on their conversations. The NPCs in WD were more interesting than the NPCs in any other open-world game.

Yeah all that is great, but does knowing personal details of random NPCs actually make for a fun and engaging game? I just see it a flavor and that's fine, but that alone won't make up for the rest of the flaws in the game..

I am a long time daily lurker myself, still am for the most part as I don't post often. I also didn't create an account until 2003. I believe I started hitting Bluesnews in 1997 when I got my Voodoo 1 card and I used to hit other sites like Operation 3DFX and VoodooExtreme and they were always linking to articles posted on Bluesnews. Now only one remains.

This is how rich people watched Furious 7 last weekend.
Rich people have a smaller screen than I do at home.

The over-the-air tuner is $79.99 and you'll need an HDTV antenna. You can get the same over-the-air broadcasts by just getting the antenna and hooking it to your TV, so I'm not sure what all the fuss is about.

I'm not sure either. That said I don't have a tuner in my TV as it's a DLP projector shining on 120" screen. I'm already using a less expensive, but just as capable USB ATSC Tuner hitched to my PC. those HDTV antennas are a ripoff, you can just use standard rabbit ears and one of those bowtie style UHF antennas together to cover the frequency ranges. Where I live I pick up about 12 unique stations, some of which have multiple sub-channels.

Sony is bleeding cash right now. They are selling any that has any value. I would not surprised to see Sony get out of the games arena entirely if their cash position does not improve.

Are you kidding? Sony's Game division is the only thing keeping them afloat. The PS4 success IS about the only going for Sony right now, getting out of that is suicide for them.

SteamOS Sale on Steam.

There are a lot of games there I would not have expected to have Steam OS versions: Dying Light, Arkham Knight, BL Pre-Sequel, Civ V & Civ BE, Metro series, Tropico 5, etc. I wonder if Valve is helping fund these conversions.

I suspect so, I'm benefiting from it greatly as I stopped using Windows all together about 7 years ago and I don't ever plan on buying apple products.

In my area my choices are Comcast which I have a 105 Mbit down/12 Mbit up internet only package or DSL from Fairpoint that can barely do 1 Mbit of the advertised 6 Mbit and they're generally about the same price monthly since it requires paying for a landline and such..

A little bit of nitpicking on this article:
San Andreas (GTA V) vs. San Andreas (GTA San Andeas).

Should be:

Los Santos (GTA V) vs. San Andreas (GTA San Andeas).

Different fictional cities between the two games.

I have a T530. I got it because I was told that Thinkpads are great for running Linux on them. Basically I wanted a machine that's really robust, that I can carry with me everywhere, and that has good Linux support, a good screen and a good keyboard since I do a lot of programming on it.
I was rather disappointed by the T530 and I guess I'm not alone. I fear that while IBM was still making the hardware they were a lot more Linux friendly than Lenovo is right now.
Also that thing is not really as robust as the earlier models but it was still sad to see that it was more robust than anything else.

I'm curious what they are going to make in the future but I'm not getting my hopes up, especially about them making a "true successor" to the T61.

I'm still really pissed at how they broke the interface for the battery and that it's much more difficult now to use it properly, like setting thresholds etc.

At work I have a 4 year old W510, This has been very good for me through out the years running Linux. I'm not entirely sure what issues you had with the T530, sometimes it's just one thing that can ruin things...
