Meh on price of Fallout 3. The startout price of 50 dollars is inflated, so half off isn't as great as it sounds.

5. Re: id: No Tech 5 Licensing Aug 12, 2010, 22:11 Wookiestick

In all honostly, I can see the logic in this. Heres a list of id tech 4 games:

* Doom 3 (2004) id Software
* Doom 3: Resurrection of Evil (2005) Nerve Software
* Quake 4 (2005) Raven Software
* Prey (2006) Human Head Studios
* Enemy Territory: Quake Wars (2007) Splash Damage
* Wolfenstein (2009) Raven Software
* Brink (2011) Splash Damage

Of all those games there are really only 2 games not sponsored by id: Prey and Brink. Everything else if it wasn't made by id software they were made by close collaborators of id software using their ip (Quake, Wolfenstein, etc.)
I'm inclined to agree with this decision.

That's right activision. Milk that teat dry. You know it peaked at Guitar Hero 4. Hell, even 3. Milk it so dry so that the teat is a shriveled up, nasty looking sun dried raisin. Then chew it up, spit it out, and sell it as Guitar Hero: Lady Gaga. It will be a 20 dollar DLC content pack.

If I'm reading right you will need a 360 wired controller plus the scorch USB dongle adaptor to bypass the MS security check to block non MS wireless hardware. After you have it turned on and verified you no longer need the dongle unless you restart.

Waited almost 8 minutes for a match, then just gave up. Maybe it REALLY wasn't meant to be released early.

Adrianne Curry is doing what a good portion of other W.O.W players are doing: playing it naked and stoned. The only differance is she has no love handles to be embarassed about.

22. Re: Jedi Knight collection Sep 20, 2009, 18:41 Wookiestick

Well they clearly did not say improved, all new, and/or remastered - in which case you'd be paying much, much more than $20 for the pack.

Nor is it very clear that it will not work in some cases on modern hardware. It says it runs on Windows Vista and 7 but if you read the forums there are issues of people not being able to run it on those OSes-- at all. Yes, its a good deal (if it works). Good deal or not I'm not paying for software that won't run.

1. Jedi Knight collection Sep 20, 2009, 11:46 Wookiestick

I was about 5 minutes from ordering the Jedi Knight Collection until I read that they were rather poorly integrated and updated for Steam. It is essentially just the files from the game ripped from the disc and sold through digital distribution without any updates for modern computer systems. The only exception is the old school 1994 Dark Forces, which uses a freely available DOSbox emulator.

Pleasing to the eye-- but that would never work space wise. It's like a cross between a console and a nerf football. It would never stack in a entertainment cabinet.

12. Video Card Apr 7, 2009, 07:52 Wookiestick

First 3d video card was a Nvidia Riva 128 which after I tested Quake 2 and found out that it ran like crap I exchanged it for a Creative Labs 3d Blaster II (Voodoo 2 12 MB). I skipped the Voodoo 3 and bought a Geforce 2 mx after that.
