Kobalt there are people who are sensitive to the framerate. In this case I am more annoyed about the forced aspect ratio.

I agree, I just don't believe all these people swearing up and down they won't get the game because of it.

This is such a non issue. If the game is good most the people pretending this is a huge factor will buy the game anyway. There really isn't enough silly people out there that buy games based framerates. Not that these people won't pretend that it's the reason it doesn't sell well when the game sucks of course.

What a refreshing change this game is. I have been lvl 50 for a week and have yet to do any serious amount of pvp or pve. Mostly crafting/farming and doing trade runs.

Not going to lie though, the themepark questing was wearing thin after a while. Luckly you can lvl up by doing pretty much anything including mining(gained at least 5 lvls doing that, and another few smelting the ore).

This sounds right up my alley, I live for the PvP shit. Thanks for the info guys, definitely going to pick it up. Is it ever coming to Steam again?

It's a f2p game so no real benefit getting it on steam.

I suppose you will have to explain to me how paid alpha/beta access and the "founders packs" that everyone is complaining about not receiving isn't exactly like kickstarter then... and how that doesn't qualify as giving them money before the product is complete.

Your kickstarter analogy still confuses me. I guess this is comparable to a kickstarter where the game comes out but the high tier perks are a little late? I mean the product is complete(as much a mmo can be) so I don't know why you keep saying it's not.

There is nothing more entertaining than seeing kickstarters and pre-orders get burned.

Stop giving companies money for unfinished products.

This post doesn't apply to this game at all. Been out for nearly 2 years and no kickstarter was involved at all. The complaints are mostly how trion handled the launch not anything to do with unfinished content developed by the korean developers.

I paid 50 and got everything the 150 pack was supposed to get. My friend paid 150 and has so far gotten nothing. One of the worst mmo releases I've seen in years, which baffles me since rift was one of the best.

Gamewise everything other then the lvling aspect is amazing. Sadly this being a mmo that's a big part of the experience. Developers need to stop, who likes this shit? I liked lvling up in tera simply because I loved the combat so much and wow isnt bad since blizzard usually puts a lot of care into content. The themepark questing in archeage is so obviously phoned in and I question why did they even bother, its awful.

One of the things I liked about shadowbane back in the day was how short the lvling part of the game was. And why not, it was a damn pvp game. Archeage has enough interesting things to do there was no need to stretch out the lvling period.

I'm almost embarrassed to say I'm more excited about a new persona then anything else coming out anytime soon. Last 2 were the only jrpgs I could stand to play in a looong time.

SF4's netcode has been dog shit from day 1. Unlike every multiplayer game that has been released since Quakeworld, it doesn't use client-side prediction so you have to deal with input delay that varies with your ping. Amazing that they were able to make it even worse.

It's not fair to compare the netcode of a fighting game to a fps at all.

A 500 dollar gaming PC has a huge and vast collection of games and other software to run, many of them exclusives. A PS4 doesn't. Your thinking is backwards. A console isn't a better value than a gaming PC. It's a convenience at the cost of flexibility and freedom.

The ps3 also has a huge and vast collection of games to run, many of them exclusives. And I continue to play it, which I can't say for the pc I bought at the time of the ps3 release for more because it can barely run skyrim. No reason to think the ps4 will be any different. Unless of course you buy the consoles are dead garbage clickbait articles, often by the same people that said the pc was dead only a year ago.

Why even buy a PS4 and not a PC where the graphics are just as good and there are vastly more games, far better game prices, etc.

Consoles are a much better value then getting a pc. You might be able to build a 500 dollar pc with comparable specs as a ps4 but no way you are playing even console ports 5 years from now on that same pc with a decent framerate.

jdreyer wrote on Jul 9, 2014, 13:21:
Could the problem with the PS4 be that there are no killer games for the Japanese market?

There's no killer games everywhere. Publishers were so scared no one was going to buy the new consoles they decided to wait and see if people bought them before making games. Which of course became a self fulfilling prophecy.

Considering the combat is nothing like wow how exactly is this a wow clone? You can easily call every mmo ever made, even tera a wow clone if you ignore the combat. I have a feeling a year from now people will be calling archeage and eq next wow clones even with the sandbox elements. I think people are just sick of mmos in general and just use the wow clone angle as a excuse.

Think most genres get there at some point. I remember when everything was a quake clone.

Yeah some weird things going on with this game. The art style and humor makes you think it's a goofy kids game, but it probably one of the most hardcore mmos in a long time.

Also it's supposed to be in the middle of a battle of highly advanced intergalactic civilizations. But for some reason they share cities on a planet and the ships don't just blow them up from orbit because? I think I got the biggest wtf moment when I did a quest where you are burning the corpses of plague victims just like in the plaguelands in wow. It's really how bizarre how similar the game is to fantasy mmos while at the same time having giant mechs blowing shit up.

I'm actually surprised people put up with that crap instead of going to a PC.

There's 10 times more crap to put up with on the pc compared to console.

I wanted to like civ 5 so bad but it's just not to be. For both expansions I reinstalled. Semi enjoying myself until I get to the point my army is stopped from taking a city because some workers/scouts from a neutral civ is blocking the way. What a piece of shit.

Not surprised, eink style ebook readers seem to be at a dead end. Amazon pricing them at cost and really not much more you can add to them.
