YES! My Chrome browser has been freezing up just lately for no reason. Has anyone installed this fix and found it fixed the problem?

News Comments > Half-Life 2: Update Released
14. Re: Half-Life 2: Update Released Mar 28, 2015, 23:49 Caslon

It's worth it if you want to play a game that was overly jazzed about it's follow up to HL1 in the first place. HL2 is almost like a dev's need to show off the new physics.

The HL "Episodes" are more of that. Almost a pre-cursor to all the stupid fun that is to be had playing TF and all its current add-on buffoonery.

I rather thought HL 2 was more in love with it's new physics than with carrying on the fun of HL1. I was impressed with them, but HL2 seemed overly jazzed with showing off the new physics than implementing it in a
fun way. I got bored with HL2 playing it the second time and trying to be jazzed with the improvements.

Steam living down to their BBB rating of F. Steam is the first and only F grade I've seen the BBB give to a business. Well done Steam, well done!

Making Half Life: Episode 3 would have been dumb. Why make another "Episode" when the first two "Episodes" looked and played exactly the same? Why?

Immediately after purchasing a game on Steam, my credit card company texted me to call their security division right away to verify the purchase. It was only a $9.99 game too. I'm telling ya, this doesn't happen very often with at all my other 20 credit card purchases per month.

What does it matter if the pendulum swings back to PC's? People will still be offered shitty console to PC ports.

It's probably a gamble they had to be make to keep this game from going under fast fast fast. The effect is gonna be the same on the bottom line, it's just another way of getting there. What a shame. The graphics are really rather HL1 looking too, but I can overlook that, but not for long.

From Forbes article: "Itís kind of a unique concept for a microtransaction, but ultimately one that feels like the worst of all possible worlds. SOE broke their promise by inserting airdrops with valuable gear, and the fact that the player may not get the drop they paid for doesnít change that. Rather, players that have successfully gotten their own paid drops will be in a better position to stake out other peopleís drops, creating a snowball effect where these pay-to-players get better and better gear. Good luck to the free-to-play guy with the rusty axe trying to get the drop on someone elseís airdrop if the person lying in wait is decked out in body armor and wielding a machine gun."

Given the mixed bag of reviews at this point, this is a wait and see.
An 80 Metacritic score is better than I was expecting, especially after the last few Alien outings. Which means it's nowhere close to perfect, but that's about the score you'd expect for a good game.

I don't trust Metacritic scores by professional reviewers. I'll wait to see how the masses score it. Even non public reviewers who score it high have something they don't like about it, and they put it right up front in their review...ie: "wish it was braver"..."has some flaws>"

The thing I don't like about the reviews is that they mention so many other games (that I'm unfamiliar with) as if everyone everywhere has bought every single game release ever made, as if that's a given. It ain't.

The game will probably chug just like Crysis did upon release when everyone upgraded their systems for it.

Also, if you do decide to upgrade for this game, that's $700 right there just for the cpu and vid card, not to mention maybe needed a new mb and bigger storage drive, and add in maybe having to up the tier price of your cable too.

For that cost, the game better make my lunch, do my taxes and clean the litter box.

Not so strange is the fact that games inevitably get delayed yet still need a ton of patches the first few weeks.

"We want to be sure that buyers get a quality gaming experience" is the usual BS they hand out. LOL!!!!!
