55. Re: If enough people say it's true.... Oct 8, 2008, 17:29 dubfanatic

Just look at the current financial mess, most of it is emotional and makes no sense, but enough financial guru's have chanted the same issue over and over, and we all believe.

LOL

Are you Phil Gramm?

The arcade on my campus closed down a few years back. Now all the Asian kids take up library computers to play Warcraft 3, and the librarians are too pussy to kick them off. Such bullshit... at least I only have a couple more months of this shit left.

You're missing nothing. Crysis Wars, well, they really tried but it's still not very good. Partly it's because it's not particularly fun, I just find myself without a clue what's going on. Principally, however, it's because the Crysis Engine just isn't very good.

but... but... it's so PURDY

there's got to be a torrent for this somewhere... I can't believe anyone would release a 2 GB file without a torrent nowadays. not like I really care, I remember being uninterested in this game when it came out...

1.9 Bigabytes?! That's HUGE!

BG = bigagytes?

Maybe they should look at countries where broadband caps are already the norm, e.g. Canada.

Nothing wrong with that but it's a far cry from well....Far Cry

Far Cry is a shitty game and the fact that you think that is an example to be looked up to says a lot about your tastes.

European Devs seem to ship their games in the most horribly buggy states I've ever seen. I've found a few Euro games I'm interested in but their version of Q/A is laughable

Where do you think Crytek is from?

just like the Cliffy B story, this is more bullshit from people who haven't been relevant to PC gaming in a decade.

besides, as Creston said, there's been plenty of games on the PC lately. Not all of them are exclusives but as long as the ports are done well, who cares? I have to say 2008 has been the best year for PC gaming since 2001, in no small part due to independent developers.

I vote Blue never links to that retarded site again. Dumbasses.

If Blue chose whether or not to link a site based on the site's quality, the daily updates would be at least 80% smaller. Either that or he would be forced to link to the original articles that these lame blogs just summarize (poorly).

Wake me up when this applies to an interesting game made by people who matter.

You said it. The last game Epic made that was worth caring about was UT99. Granted, UT2k4 wasn't half bad but the plethora of gimmicky mutators and game modes fragmented the community so badly that it never developed a community.

They did up the video quality, you just have to click the "View in high quality" link. This only works on videos uploaded relatively recently, though.

"With 'Spore,' we were intentionally not targeting the core gamer," he says. "Almost all of our testing was with Sims players and casual or nongamers. I'd much rather hit that broader group."

Of course they'd rather go for non-gamers. They are far more easily impressed than anyone who has played a game in their life. EA/Maxis were able to significantly decrease the amount of effort put into designing an appealing game and put all those extra resources into the hype machine. GOLLY GEE WHIZ I can make my VERY OWN CREATUREZ

You obviously have no idea what you are talking about. Zero. I would even go so far to call you an idiot regarding this subject.

It doesn't work?

Tell that to 10 million Guild Wars boxes sold.

That's because Guild Wars isn't F2P, and you just mentioned why it isn't.

The number one industry priority right now seems to be to find ways to charge for things in new and creative ways.

When will MBAs learn that "innovation" is not necessarily a good thing in the business world? Our current economic crisis is a perfect example of that.

Just because his legal credentials are gone doesn't mean he won't take his crusade to the protest scene. I would suspect he'll be even more rabid.

That's precisely what Fred Phelps did after he was disbarred.

The cherry on top of all this would be if he drops dead from a stroke.

I'd prefer to see him go the way of Joe McCarthy, his evident role model.
