Last time I went in to renew my license, there was nobody in the office except the clerks. There are some perks to living in the relative middle of nowhere..

Yeah, sounds like a bunch of marketing bullshit to me. "Ever-changing, ever-uncertain in-game environment"? It's like the author hasn't actually played WoW for more than 20 minutes.

to prove defamation you have to prove the defendant knowingly LIED about the so-called defamatory claims. if he believed them to be true, its not defamation. so good luck with that

This is true in countries with sane defamation laws. Australia has the most fucked up defamation laws in the world, which is why Evony chose it as the jurisdiction, even though no parties involved are based there.

A blog no one reads, and an MMO that no one plays.

I smell viral marketing.

Just because you haven't read it doesn't mean nobody else has been keeping up on this.

haha I can see the board meetings... "OK zombies and superheroes are both really popular right now, which one should we try to shoehorn into a game totally unrelated to either one? Oh, damn, you mean someone just made another superhero MMOG? Zombies it is then."

f I had the choice of being placed in a room with a thousand people who supposedly have contracted this *killer* virus <cough, cough> or having the virus injected straight into my bloodstream guess which one I would choose?

Please don't tell me you're an anti-vaxer. Otherwise I'd have to hate you. Whooping cough is making a comeback where I live because we have too many fucking idiots who think vaccines are evil.

You're probably right, which is one reason why piracy is still done primarily using physical media in China and Russia.

GOG's versions of DOS games use DOSBox. There's just no way GOG could arrange to have these old games ported to native 32-bit Windows...

1. Re: Two New Europa Universalis Games Aug 20, 2009, 22:20 dubfanatic

More details on the EU3 expansion, as seen at Paradox forums:

  • Intriguing Casus Belli system, where wars have specific goals from start to finish.
  • Monarchs now belong to dynasties, with far reaching effects on the diplomatic model.
  • More involving and powerful Holy Roman Empire and Papacy options.
  • Special diplomatic options for Republics.
  • Set your National Focus in a province to enhance growth and strengthen your hold in the region.
  • Permanent Terra Incognita removed and replaced with impassable regions.
  • Cultural Tradition allows better advisors in the same way that Military Tradition allows better generals and admirals.
  • Spheres of Influence simulate the Great Game of the major powers.
  • More dynamic pirates. Issue letters of marque to plague the sea zones of rival nations.
  • Monarchs need to uphold their legitimacy in the eyes of their subjects
  • Many other additions and improvements.
  •
