Bush's carrier stunt did not actually declare and "end to the war." What he declared was an end to the major military operations such as very large battles and invasions. Personally, i thought it was kind of cool to see him get out of the fighter and actually look like a man that's Commander-in-chief of the largest army in the world. I felt it was good for morale of the troops, albeit a total media stunt. And lastly, Silent Sorrow.. I too am still waiting to hear Hood's evidence of Clinton's similarities to Bush's actions. I'm only 19 so really all I remember Clinton doing was getting his dick wet by his homely ass intern. I for one am totally excited about both games. The half life trailer looked absolutely amazing and i'm going to love playing through it. The doom trailer looks even better and those things crawling on the walls and ceilings are really gonna scare the shit outta me! I cant wait! haha. Sure half life is going to be more realistic than doom but really... who thinks that doom is realistic in the first place? Edit:: Someone mentioned that they think the netcode in doom is going to suck... I see all these people complaining about Doom with the main gripe that the gameplay has been done and its nothing new. Well yeah, its been done and done to death but ITS STILL FUN! I mean I loved the Thief series, Half-life, etc.. and they had great story lines but sometimes you just want to shove a 12 gauge down something's throat and pull the trigger. Its so therapeutic(sp?) Also, what storyline did quake 3 have? None! Straight multiplayer and look how much fun that ended up being.. especially with RA3 or something of the like. Anyways, until you've played the game and have something valid to base your opinion on, give up complaining about it and join the rest of us! PS: someone said something earlier about id fans that i just wanted to comment on.. I would buy just about anything that id produced or john carmack worked on just for the sole sake that their games rock. okay i'm done now -MEATCLEAVER

Amen to that man... i played through the alpha on a tbird 1333 with a radeon 8500 128, carefully chosen options will give pretty decent graphics and roughly 15-20fps.. REALLY! Anyways.. even at those settings, mind you i was running at 800x600, the game looked absolutely amazing. Screenshots do absolutely no justice to seeing the game in motion. I for one will be upgrading this summer as sequels thief, doom, and hl will all be coming out so its worth it. -Senor Cleaver

Thief I, ah the memories... I never actually finished it, the damn thing scared the hell outta me so bad. The thief games do such a good job of getting you into the atmosphere that you actually believe you're Garrett at points. I remember that Catolcombs level, my hands were shaking at times it was so bad, lol! I mean really, what other game has ever been that scary? Anyways, I'm actually in the process of finishing up Thief 2 again and now I see this as well as Half life 2 and Doom 3? To say that I'm anxious would be an understatement. Kudos to blues for having the best site out there. -Senor Cleaver
