World War I. It's the one major war that game developers continue to avoid. Trench warfare, poison gas, early tank designs, and biplanes. Would be sweet!

The movie industry is trying to push a similar 120Hz 3D standard. Now that half of the country owns a 60Hz HDTV, what better way to get everyone to buy a new TV once again, than require the TV display 120Hz to be able to view 3D movies and games.

You have to be a publicly traded company. Then basically anyone that has the money to purchase the publicly traded stock, can gain controlling interest in the company.

Only way for companies to avoid hostile takeovers is to stay private. Of course if a company stays private, they have less avenues of fund raising from investors.

Interesting. So now players can piss everyone off around them, then pay $15 and change their name and looks and pretend to be someone completely different. Nope, no customer service issues related to this.

Okay, now Smurf can add the following to this thread:
"...another fantasy based MMO? D&D or not, we need another fantasy game like we need a hole in the head."

Uh, you do realize that Dungeons and Dragons Online has been out since 2006 (I think)? It's not a new game. In fact, Turbine finished D&D up before they completed LotR.

Yeah, the Metro station take over was freaking sweet! My favorite part was seeing the reaction to the ads by people that had no idea it was a video game.

Personal responsibility on the internet. I love it! Keep it up actually. The only reason people act like tools on website forums such as this is because there is no accountability. Banning someones game accounts as well as their forum accounts is one way to remove the trolls from the forums.

News Comments > It Came from E3 2008, Part 16
9. Re: E3 Jul 22, 2008, 17:58 nightfend

E3 was never open to the public. But, in the early editions, it didn't take much to fool your way into the show. You simply need a tenuous connection to the industry to get in. Now, they are pretty strict about who to let in. In fact, many smaller magazines and websites can no longer go.

I echo everyone else's comments. I bought my Wii, and after the novelty of Wii Sports and Raving Rabbits went away, I pretty much never touch the thing.

I've looked recently for some new games, but really there is a lot of low-budget crap out there for the Wii. Very few triple-A titles.

A little game called Mass Effect got in the way of them finishing up Dragon Age. That's why it's not finished yet. Now that ME is done, a full dev team can be devoted to Dragon Age now.

Worse. Max of 10 players. And, there are no cities/town or areas to group up with others.

This is not really an MMO. It's a team-based multiplayer game. But the size of the teams is fairly small. I hate when companies use the MMO (MASSIVE multiplayer online) tagline just for the notoriety of it.

I played this game on the 360 when it came out. It was pretty awful then. For whatever reason, Japanese developers just can't seem to make a good FPS. The plot was stupid, the monster battles were annoying and pointless. I can't believe this game has sold so well they keep coming out with new "editions" of it.
