"??? = Damn you, Bioware, hurry up and announce your new PCRPG IP. "
We already did: Dragon Age.
"Furthermore, Bioware has repeatedly stated that they have no real desire anymore to work with the D&D license, that they would much rather work on their own IP, such as Dragon Age (Jade Empire doesn't count I think, since it's probably at least half owned by MS in order to be released on the BillBox.)"
Nope... Jade Empire is an IP created and owned entirely by BioWare. |

a) You can take a brand new character into Hordes of the Underdark--you'll just be automatically leveled up to level 15 (you can still choose how you want to level up if you'd like). b) You don't need Undrentide to play Hordes. |

Yeah, all the new stuff is backwards compatible... however, we didn't, for example, go back and add skies to the original NWN campaign or anything. But you can pan the camera down, take the new classes, etc. in original NWN and Shadows of Undrentide.
As for the NWN Gold thing... *shrug* I'd imagine that someone will eventually release a "Platinum" pack or something that has all the packs in it.
As it stands, though, it's a good way for new players to get into NWN just in time for Hordes

Hey, I'm not expecting anyone to think I'm not biased--that'd just be ridiculous... but I _really_ feel this is the best game in the series, by far. Don't have to be biased to say that |

K, I can understand how some people didn't enjoy NWN and the first expansion as much as some other games... but these gripes you have are all fixed in Hordes... granted, you don't get a first-person view, but the camera's been unlocked so that you can pan right down to eye level and zoom in as close as you want to your character. Check some screens:

And, as someone who has played all three games (including Hordes), I have to say it's easily the best of the three.

They've probably got deals in place with North American ISPs to provide the connections. When you log on, you get a AT&T logo or something, then the game starts. Who knows? Fact is, they're making a free MMORPG. Woo.

Hell, don't forget it's some of the guys that were involved with the creation of battle.net. I'm sure they'll have ISP sponsors and such, but I don't doubt for a second that they can pull it off. Looking forward to it.
