They did a remake of Colonization back in 2008 with the CIV IV engine and I remember not caring for it much :( They messed up the end game, which meant the longer you waited the more difficult it became. In fact pretty much the only way to win was through exploits, by deliberately leaving your cities unguarded and reinvading. There were also bugs with the interface for trading. I enjoyed it for a few playthroughs but it was too broken to enjoy it properly.
I focused on building ships, gave them as much battle experience as possible and swarmed the man-o-wars 3-4 to 1. I can't recall a single redcoat setting foot on my land.

I just how they can keep bugs to a minimum. While I know some folks had issue with New Vegas, I felt like it was a definite improvement for them, quality wise.
If you had tried Dungeon Siege 3 you would've been even more reassured. Polished, with a capital p.

My favorite was evac mode in AvP2.
Lots of tension, trying to stay undetected for as long as possible, nervously checking all corners and ducts on the way. Then a mad everyone-for-himself dash for the dropship when all hell breaks loose. |

I remember an article released earlier this year that had an interesting point. Research showed that positive reviews didn't increase sales, but negative ones hurt sales.
It might be that people are more inclined to trust negative opinions. |

| You can't list games with good AI without including NOLF2 and F.E.A.R. They were impressive then and they are (sadly?) just as impressive today. I had such high hopes for the future (7 years ago) ... |

I played this a lot back in 2003. While the combat part could've been better, the management of your crew and the base was pretty fun and required some thought.
I was hoping for a sequel, but I'll probably pick this up anyway. |
