I went back to the original UT recently and still think it’s better then UT03. If only they’d done more of the same instead of reinventing and thereby fucking up a great game.

I love tribes 2. I’m just not sure that the UT engine can give us the huge km squared levels we’re all used to. I want to be pleasantly surprised though.

Does anybody think Jacques Chirac opposed the war on moral grounds, or because he thought it would impede “The war on terror” in some way? No it’s because France and Russia both had very comfortable business arrangements with Iraq.
Chirac even visited Iraq in the 70’s shortly before France sold them a nuclear reactor. At least the Israelis did us all a favour and bombed it out of existence soon after. Also France is the only western Country Sadam’s visited and he did so as Jacques Chirac’s personal friend and guest.
As for GWB I can’t think of a person less deserving to run the worlds most powerful country.
Anybody else that inept inarticulate and backward would be destined to sweep streets for the rest of their life.

The only persistent thing about the game is the storage lockers.
Nothing you (or your squad/outfit) does will have any effect on the game in 12 hours time let alone a week. Doesn’t sound very persistent to me. The FPS side of this game is well bellow average compared to most half life mods, and the graphics are worse then tribes 2 (mmmm Fusion mortar blasts). Don’t even get me started on the retarded and completely unintuitive stone paper scissor weaponry.
This would almost be excusable if you were part of a meaningful struggle (for resources or technological advantages), but if I’m taking bases for the sake of taking bases I’ll stick with Tribes or BF1942, and if I want gameplay with any depth I’ll have a game of Natural Selection.
I hope Planeside does do well, because that’s the only way other companies will dare to enter the market and maybe give us something worth paying for.
