Once again, however, you're only guarenteed a right to counsel not any counsel you want. so what youre saying is that dotcom is not allowed to hire lawyers that are competent? thats bullshit. if i was charged with copyright infringement i wouldnt hire a divorce lawyer. i would get someone with experience. |

its a good thing they didnt use a nail gun to fix the sail. "hold on jimmy, just keep it still from behind while i use a nail gun."
EDIT: oh its to fix a crew member. i read the headline and thought the nail gun was used to fix the boats sail.

Hmmm. that actually makes a lot of sense because the app store does not have the ability to roll out large patches/updates for games. maybe steam will handle AAA titles and the app store the casual games. |

MS lost 3.7 Billion just on the first Xbox! You don't need a business degree to see were i'm going with this...
I want Valve to succeed but they need to be strategic and use their business savvy. MS lost money on the first xbox because they just entered the console market. they needed to create an installed base so they sold the hardware at a loss. some of the loss also came from buying up game devs like bungie and paying publishers to have exclusive games for the xbox. valve has experience so i think they have a better chance of succeeding with their own gaming hardware whatever form it might be. |

That would make us all happy, wouldn't it? no because apple has a terrible track record with the video game market. their last attempt at a game console was the pippin. it was a total failure. the only reason people think apple is a force to be reckoned with is the tons of casual games available through the app store. but none of it are AAA titles. valve has to keep away from casual games. thats not what made them successful. |

/tinfoilhat wouldnt be surprised if apple is trying to get an early release for half life 3 on os x. they did the same thing with id software when quake 3 arena came out. although it was only a week ahead of other platforms. but it was enough to get the attention of gamers on their hardware. i remember reading a lot of previews that were made using the mac version of q3a. |

im wondering if valve enlisted the help of falcon northwest computers. they seem to have a history together (see half life 2 episode 1 & 2 ending credits). maybe this will be just a valve branded gaming rig made by falcon northwest. puget systems also has experience with custom hardware. so valve has two experienced local companies to consult.

| i thought the article would shed more light into the design decisions behind os x but it just repeated what most of us already know. how did apple create os x? simple, using nextstep os. i would have loved to see be os but its feature set was too focused on multimedia. you couldnt do much beyond watching movies and playing music. all it had to show was the process monitors and customizable but inconsistent interface. |

I'm not sure if that's a translation problem or writing issue. i was a bit confused at the end. correct me if im wrong but did prophets spirit or his consciousness end up being part of the upgraded nanosuit? so it must be safe to assume the third game will have alcatraz as the voice inside the suit. but he never spoke a word due to injuries in crysis 2. the only thing keeping him alive was the nanosuit. am i right? |

| i hope smart meters get hacked into oblivion. energy companies like southern california edison charges different rates depending on the time of the day. the highest they charge is the early afternoon during summer. thats when everyone is blasting away with air conditioning. then they have the nerve to force conservation on heavy users by increasing (sometimes triple) the rate charged per kilowatt hour if you dont reduce usage. and the claim that smart meters only phone home twice a day is a pack of lie. socal edision smart meters send usage information at least 7 times a day. our routers wifi has been unreliable since the installation of smart meters. |
