what i find really idiotic about their procedure is that you have to trigger the metal detector in order to be submitted to the full body scan.

This is 100% untrue. I'm two-for-two for getting chosen for the full-body scan for my last flights,

read the new TSA press release aimed at reassuring that not everyone will have to choose between the pat-down or the body scanners. and its true because i fly a lot out of LAX, IAD and BWI. all have full body scanners and i have not been flagged for them because i have never triggered the metal detectors.

and I think they directed me aside before I even got to the metal detector.

thats when i know you are lying because you have to go through the metal detector before you even reach the TSA employee who would direct you to your luggage or to the body scanner.

what i find really idiotic about their procedure is that you have to trigger the metal detector in order to be submitted to the full body scan. opt out of the scan and you get the heavy handed pat-down. but the point in having the full body scan is to detect non-metallic threats like the materials used by the failed shoe bomber and the nigerian boy who set himself on fire.

Although, I feel I should point out that fighter pilots travel faster then 400mph and have no problem when it comes to reaction/reflex time.

we are talking about remote control planes. i dont know if the video claims to be 400mph in actual speed or scaled speed.

UPDATE: ok just found out they were talking about scaled speed. it was actually going at around 150mph.

Nice! 2142 is fantastic IMO. Have you tried Titan mode, its great. Conquest for about 1/2 the round, then Conquest/Objective hybrid for the 2nd half of the round. To me this is the deepest BF mode to date and I hope BF3 adds something interesting like it. I've been in so many close games, come back games, etc. Playing BC2 then going back and playing 2142 reminds you of what a "true" BF game should be IMO

totally agree that titan mode is lots of fun. the only thing that killed it for a lot of players is the lag. when the fight is taken to the titan's indoor space the server lags. did they fix it along with the server crash every other round?

Want to fly that helo, $7.50.
Flying the Jet, only $10.

You have to have your license.

yeah i was wondering about that bit of info. spending 60 a month on games or 60 a month on microtransactions for one game? where do i sign up?! and it doesnt look any better than BF2.

I am assuming the American TSA really is pro-gay because unless females do that i can not see how that is in any way or shape not gay (or how it can possibly be acceptable to the right wing Christian and Muslim nutjobs.

it would be cool if we get to choose which TSA female employee would do the sac-de-resistance test. there are some attractive ones on the united airlines checkpoint at LAX.

But one thing is clear, this scanner is not health hazard just like getting xrays of your teeth isn't one. Flying with an airplane puts you under a LOT more radiation 30 minutes of high altitude flight gets you more than a full xray.

wrong. a dental x-ray exposes you to more radiation (10mrem) than a transcontinental flight (6mrem). so a full body x-ray would expose you to even more radiation when compared to a trip up in the sky.

the same could be said of the multiplayer aspect of any call of duty game. nade... airstrike... rinse and repeat.

Didn't Treyarch only have 8 months or something to churn out CoD 3? I seem to recall them saying that at one point. No wonder it was a lower quality game.

treyarch didnt need more time since a lot of the hard work was already done by IW. they simply changed the story and added different missions. otherwise its the same graphic engine and net code. more like a mod.

I think the only reason that Treyarch's follow-ups are rated lower is because they are more of the same. If they released in reverse we'd see the same situation.

nailed it. treyarch adds little to the existing work already done by IW. well... ok they have zombies.

Aren't the COD's using IWtech4 which is a modified IDtech2? I still think its based on the quake engine if you trace it back far enough. I know for Treyarch's last game they wrote a lot of thier own code, basicly reinvented the wheel as IW would not share their code.

the only thing you can trace back to the quake engine are the console commands which IW kept but the graphics engine has been in house since COD2. it amazes me nobody read or remembers the interview for COD2 by pcgamer in 2005.
