i dont see anyone saying its another 360 game.

If it's Halo it's another 360 game.
So saying it's Halo is saying it's a 360 game.

its just that bungie has not done anything as successful as halo

List of companies that have done anything as successful as Halo:
1) Blizzard
2) Infinity Ward
3) id (but not since Doom)
So it's a pretty high bar you're setting there.

i was not comparing it to other companies. we are just talking about bungie's capability to create new franchise. since the early 90s they have made two successful series. marathon on the mac and halo on the 360. halo borrowed a lot of its design elements from marathon. even the story has some parallels.

So Bungie sacrificed an enormous chunk of money to be able to make something other than Halo for things other than the 360 and some of you think they're now making a Halo for the 360?

i dont see anyone saying its another 360 game. its just that bungie has not done anything as successful as halo. their track record has a very short list of games with little variety. aside from myth and that small experiment for a new graphics engine called oni, everything else was marathon and halo.

Yeah they NEVER did any other games besides Halo. Please ignore Myth and Oni.

oni is still sci-fi and was not successful. myth was lost to take 2 interactive after microsoft purchased bungie. myth 3 was not done by bungie. the myth series was not as successful as their cash cow halo so yes we can ignore both games.

i dont think bungie is capable of doing anything other than halo type games. sci-fi is their specialty since the beginning when they started on the macintosh platform.

only time will tell what tiered internet service will do to netflix and other streaming service. my friend who has verizon FIOS gets terrible streaming with netflix. at the same time hulu and youtube videos run fine. i think throttling is already being implemented by internet providers.

wonder what kind of DRM and activation is needed to view the movies. does the user have to be online while watching the movie in theaters?

if the dvd decline is true then we are all playing into the hands of metered internet service providers. i hope we wont get locked into buying streaming on demand service from our internet providers. there are still choices but they all rely on a level playing field. net neutrality could have been the solution but its now part of the problem thanks to lobbying by the telco industry.

By "saturated market" they mean "at the same time a new Call of Duty Modern Warefare game ships out".

i think that's what they're trying to avoid. MW3 might come out in november. it is a smart move since ghost recon on the consoles could never compete against the CoD series.

it didnt mention if the bees were reacting to the radio waves or the terrible ringtones that most people use. either way we are all screwed if farmers have to hire people to hand pollinate all their crops.

I use netmeter, but the problem is it's only per machine. In my case that's fine (I set it to notify me at 235, leaving 15 gig for xbox), but I can see how, in multi computer households, it wouldn't be great.

they should create a netmeter server which polls all the machines in a local network and combines all their total to get the per household bandwidth usage. i wonder if there are any home routers out there that has a meter built in.

the comcast tool to monitor your bandwidth usage has a disclaimer at the bottom which says meter data can be 3 hrs old. they forget to mention it stops working on the last day of your billing cycle. and can lag as much as an entire day before it updates. i have monitored my usage during the day and stopped surfing at night only to find an additional 5-10gb lost the next day. this even when my modem was turned off to avoid damage during a lightning storm. now i set my target limit to 15gb below the 250gb cap just to be on the safe side.

If you move, you can give the USPS $1 to forward all of your mail from your old address to your new address for a year. When they receive mail addressed to someone that has their mail being redirected, they also send notice to the party that sent it. That's all that statement is referring to. It is an optional service.

thats just one example of how marketers can use the list service of the USPS. that crap about not keeping a database and not selling your information is a lie. they print the address labels by the hundreds of thousands for the junk mails that they deliver. dont tell me a person has to input those each and every time.

I built my own house. There was no previous owners. I get no junk mail from Valu-Pak or anyone, as I opted out many many years ago. If what you say were remotely true, the USPS would be sued by everyone and their brother for violation of their privacy policy. You're are just an uniformed liar, and now blocked.

lol. go to this link. and read the second paragraph and see who is a liar.

http://pe.usps.com/businessmail101/addressing/addressList.htm

The Postal Service does not keep a database of residential or business customers and does not sell address lists. However, the Postal Service has products and services that help mailers check and standardize their addresses (for instance, whether 123 MAIN is a ST, AVE, or DR) and keep their lists up to date (for example, providing ancillary services to let mailers know if addressees have moved).

now try and explain to anyone how the USPS can offer services to verify the accuracy of address lists if they do not maintain a database. they are selling your information if not directly. its a loophole in their own privacy policy. marketer buys obsolete list from third party and then goes to the USPS for an update. its not free.

http://pe.usps.com/businessmail101/addressing/checkingAccuracy.htm

Address List Correction Service. You can submit a printout of your list to the Postal Service and we will mark any changes. There is a fee for this service. It is available through your Address Management System Office.

I guess you can't read. "We do not sell or rent your personal information to outside parties."

i guess you are gullible AND cant read. ever wonder why you get junk mail named after individuals who used to live in your address? thats because the marketing firm who sent it does not have the most current opt out list. keep quoting that USPS website. even they wont admit to selling your address to marketing firms.

This is actually where junk mail comes from and how you can get rid of it.

http://www.privacyrights.org/fs/fs4-junk.htm

the companies listed there get their mailing lists from the USPS. they buy bulk mailing permits and address database from the USPS. commercial printers hired by those marketing firms deliver junk mail by the pallets to USPS processing centers which inkjet mailing labels before sending them out. if you think opting out will remove you from the junk mail list then you are wrong. not all direct marketers buy up to date database with the most current list of opt out consumers.
