Nerd^3 did a video on this last week:

The game looks rough.

Yeah, to say the least. I watched that video and from what I can see, there's no way in hell the game is going to be ready by "early" 2016. Not in a worth playing state anyway.

The used condom I left at my girlfriend's place last night contains more intelligence than Tim Cook and his pompous, unfounded, and short-sighted "declaration".

Newsflash: Faxes are still heavily used here in the USA too. The company I work for receives nearly 40% of it's daily orders through a fax server. Sure, they are converted to a digital TIFF file that goes into a paperless archiving system, but the original fax from our customers (tens of thousands of them across all 50 states) is handwritten and sent through fax machines over regular telephone lines. Many times, they come from places that don't have email, so the fax is the only option they have. True story.

TSA pitiful, huh? Okay. Here's what I propose... we remove ALL security from ALL airports. All of it. Not even regular cops should patrol airports. Ever. Let anyone and everyone get on an airplane with whatever they want to carry (so long as it fits in the overhead bins and under the seat in front of you.) No screening, no bag checks, no nothing.

THEN, when planes start exploding, I'm going to call up the clueless morons who complained about the TSA and say, "I hope your wife and kids were in that fireball, motherfucker."

Classic scenario... punk kid thinks his car is some badass shit and he's some kind of great driver because of all the hours he put into Forza 6, and somehow he believes that he's above the law so he's all like, "Fuck the seat belt".

This brainless idiot got exactly what he deserved and the only truly sad thing about it is that it doesn't happen often enough.

I have v-sync turn on all the time and I've NEVER experienced ANY detectable input lag whatsoever. This is a complete mystery to me why this is even an issue. I got into a debate with someone one time about this and his "proof" that input lag exists was some video that they shot with a high speed camera, and then slowed the video WAY down so you could see the input lag between a keypress and the on-screen reaction. However, the dumbass actually proved my point, that it is not detectable by the average human, and it took a high speed camera and careful observation of the slowed down footage to even see it. The player? He had no idea there was any input lag. Only the high speed camera saw it.

Y'all might want to surf around on the Steam forums for SE before you dive into this game. I have the game and the last few updates have broken it to the point of being almost unplayable. Not going to rant about it here, just go check out the forums and you'll see. Most of the issues stem from code they are implementing in preparation for their "planets" release.

Another half bil down the drain this year, laid off 5% of their workforce and Nvidia is actively poaching the rest. AMD needs a miracle if this keeps up. Something like 8 billion lost over the past 15 years.

A miracle? If making a decent product would be classified as a "miracle", then I would agree. If they go out of business, at least then maybe the Steam game forums wouldn't be polluted by the lamenting cries of clueless AMD owners who bitch about how their AMD-based gaming rig doesn't run games worth a crap and claim it's the game developer's fault.

News Comments > 9M Played Star Wars Battlefront Beta
9. Re: 9M Played Star Wars Battlefront Beta Oct 13, 2015, 13:30 Porn-O-Matic
I watched on Twitch for a couple of hours, several streams, and I was impressed with the visuals, but nothing else. It's just another free-for-all shooter with the same chaotic bullshit you've seen in every other MP shooter made in the last 10 years. There's nothing original or unique about it. I even posted the question in the stream chat, "Besides being in the Star Wars universe, what makes this game different from every other MP shooter made in the last 10 years?"

My question was read aloud by the streamer, and even after 5 minutes, neither the streamer, nor anyone in the chat, could come up with a SINGLE answer. Not one.

And just think, once the full version goes live, it will still have to deal with the cheaters, hackers, griefers, and general d-bag assholes just like every other MP shooter made in the last 10 years.

Like I've always said, multiplayer gaming is the bloated-crack-whore-corpse-floating-in-a-ghetto-sewer of the gaming world.

Indigenous People's Day? How about "The Indigenous People Were Too Fucking Weak To Defend Themselves So They Lost And Proved Darwin's Natural Selection Theory Day"

The idea that Columbus may have done controversial things does not change the historical moment in time when he arrived. It's much like saying you should start a campaign to negate the importance of your own parents because you found out they did something "controversial" in the years before they brought you into the world.

Considering the fact that most, if not all, US presidents have done plenty of very controversial (and some just plain criminal) things while in office, why do we still have a fucking "Presidents Day"?

Maybe once they figure out how to get all my vinyl LP's into my smart phone, then "news" of this kind might actually have some tiny amount of relevance. To anything.

Oh, wait, I threw away all of my LP's years ago for something superior...

Procedurally generated "art"?

Ever looked at procedurally generated graphics or music?

Good luck with that!

Your logic is flawed, because even though it may be true that some things in the world don't lend well to being procedurally generated, but what applies to those things doesn't mean it applies to others. Look at Minecraft, the quintessential definition of what procedural generation can do and do extremely well. If you remove Minecraft's ability to allow for player creativity the only thing left would be the procedurally generated world(s).

It also depends greatly on how well written the algorithms are that determine what gets generated. Minecraft's alpha version worlds were pretty bland and didn't offer much variation, but over time, it has been tweaked to produce some incredibly stunning and interesting scenery. In the big picture, procedural generation is only just getting started, and after decades of the same small, constricted, uninspired, human-made bullshit, I say bring on No Man's Sky and any other game that utilizes procedurally generated content!

Right. So, is it okay for me to post something that mocks homosexuality and makes every effort to offend and humiliate gays? How about vegans? No? Why not? That guy with the funny emails seemed to think it was okay to mock Christanity and Easter, so I don't see why he's special and can get away with being intolerant, but I can't.

Wait, what's that you say? The ideology of tolerance is NOT a two way street and those who preach it are not required to live by it? Ohhhh, I see. Yeah, that's what I thought.

This will be the last year that this developer will produce a NASCAR game as the exclusive license has been acquired by DMi games.

No word on whether or not it will be a faithful simulation like the Papyrus games were (I have my doubts), but I guess we'll know next year.

Fucking please. Why is the Surface 3 being compared to the iPad in the first place? The Surface is a full-on computer that can run full versions of any Windows software, while the iPad is just an overpriced Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest interface for the ignorant masses. They shouldn't even be in the same device category.
