I don't want to ruin the fun but... think about the most infeasable senerio for the game. The last level is probably harder than what you came up with in your head.
I'll tell you this much, if you even had binoculars you would just sit around and cry because of what you would see with them... cry like a little baby boy. |

| Most music sucks anyhow, you'd think the industry would start finding, cultivating and sponsoring talent. I would be more than willing, and always do, buy cd's of artists who deserve my money. On that note, music artists generaly make pittiance on CD sales, they make most of there bank with concerts. Seeing as I hate most all organizations, I say keep on downloading, just don't bitch when you end up in jail. |

| I had the white nv goggles, then after the patch they became thermal, then I quit for awhile and when I whent back it was normal nv agian... weird. |

I meant, I just give some company 500 dollars and download my computers upgrades.
The joke was supposed to be obvious...
Anyhow, I found that putting everything at medium with world detail and textures on high with shadows and lighting on low with bilinear filtering I get a respectable amount of fps. I never realized the NVG were thermal untill I bumped up world detail, i'm thinking thats also why I never saw sharks, fish, birds, or albino hookers. |

A geforce 3 with a 2.5ghz processor...
My 2ghz with a 4600 gets amazingly choppy in the final levels, or if I turn on nightvision around alot of water. No AA and no AF all medium details. |

| Hey sphinx, that was a fun read, but dosen't it suck upgrading and spending $700 and then not being able to run at full details on a fairly old game? You should do some FarCry benches and let us know how you do, that might make more sense? |

Well thats nice zeph, I'm glad you find such joy and ego from video games. I still think you're full of it if you tell me you play without dying and beat every game you play.
The stress of making it several hours into a game and then dying. Because most games are not designed in a manner that supports such play style. Would make me go at my computer with something heavy. Preferably a nice big hammer, or even chucking it out my window maby.
Granted you mentioned Thief, a game notable for being able to allow sustained play without death. I'm sure DX and DX:IW are on the same bag as well. Other than that, there's few games I would even try and believe your claim on.
The moral: Yay, if you can do this you're a great gamer, but. Why didn't you take up some kind of useful hobby like gardening, fencing, sex, making cold fusion? You could have a hobby and a skill that people would be impressed about, unlike gaming where such skill and claims of such skill are only met with derision.
Not only that but I've known people like you with large ego's and large claims to fame. I've learned that 99% of such people are full of shit, even if they have some modicum of talents. The claim is usually much greater than any one of realistic intellegence would believe.
To each his own, or whatever. |
