Enterprise is a good show... its one of the few sci-fi shows that always has a solid, cohesive story to back up each episode
BTW, that rumor about it being cancelled is wrong - theres just no confirmation on next season yet...
i still shed tears for 'Firefly'

you are the ignorant one if you think a few screenshots or low-level map tests prove that the D3 engine can handle a full featured game in an outdoor style environment...
once an actual game or complete D3 mod comes out with that functionality, then i'll admit defeat - but not on the basis of your self-fulfulling prophecy

people whining about the ship date must have missed the last 3 STALKER updates, which were all delays... the last one being till June 05.... its not going to be coming anytime soon
and i have to admit, the lack of any eyewitness account of their revolutionary AI is decidely suspect, as is the state of the single player game as related by a recent french preview - which seemed to indicate that the PDA and dialouge functionality is still in the very early stages, as well as the non-existence of the quest system in general
looks like the hype machine has finally turned completely against these guys (as it always does after a certain time) but you cant feel sorry for them since they have been screaming for attention from day one
im not ready to write them off 100% yet, but im no longer hopeful that STALKER is a game that will actually live up to half the promises the devs have held on to..... and Im not talking about the ones they already admitted arent going to be in

even Carmack himself says that Doom3 engine doesnt do outdoor spaces well
what large open areas in Doom3 allowed you to walk through them?? just because its a visual background doesnt mean the engine excels at doing it as a player environment

controls were bad... it was not possible to sidestep and attack at the same time because you had to use the same keys to attack as you do to move
it is alot easier to play gothic with a game controller tho
but i do hope they revamp the system a bit...

there are peaceful solutions to a number of quests, but there is still a HUGE amount of required violence, and alot of dubious questing in general
its not really catered to "good" characters, thats for sure
coming from troika, this game dissapointed me - tho on a general scale its a pretty good RPG... rather linear and shallow when you get right down to it, but there is an illusion of choice that is pretty well done

the soundtrack looks ok to me - theres a "Helmet" song on there from their album "meantime"... which is KILLER... but i could do without "rage against the machine" stuff, which was totally played out about 2 weeks after the album came out
but i doubt anything could really top the soundtrack to Vice City - its just a ton of excellent, classic stuff
