There's one big arcade left downtown in Toronto. It's mostly geared to that shit the asian gamers like to play DDR, the stupid drum game, the fishing sim, garbage. They even took the pinball machines out a few moths ago to make room for some other stupid game. The arcade is dead and I actually miss it. Even up to a few years ago I couldn't walk past that place without dropping a roll of quarters in it.

Just screwing around in SP before bed. Playing video poker in the indian casino listening to Heart and Judas Priest. Nice touch that they landed the rights to for real world music ala GTA.

I'd like to be a fly on the wall of that courtroom when that Mother gets schooled on the fact that she ought to be raising her own kid. There's not a Judge in the land that'll award these crackpots dollar one.

Yeah? Well Desert Combat gave us everything and then some that BF2 has and it was ZERO bucks. Problem is EA just went and bought up the maker of that little mod and made a sequel out of it.

Oh and btw there Dice boy, he did say how to reproduce it. Just play the game and there you go.
I wonder how they'll handle the ranking system because I'd imagine that the BF2 stats whores are not going to want to start from scratch again with 2142. One thing they need to do is ban booster pack unlocks from the vanilla game. That SF sniper rifle unlock turned me into an absolute reaper when I grabbed it from a dead sniper. You can't NOT get mad kills with that thing, and don't even get me started on that retarded flash/bang. Want to use you Booster unlocks? Go play on a booster map server.

LOL. They landed a man on the moon in less time. Never thought of it THAT way before.

Do you think George is like the guy in "Grandma's Boy" maybe?
"It's the future of gaming, people will bow to it..." Great movie.

"You don't have to downgrade, just get rid of the fucking Blue-Ray drive, and make the console cost 400 bucks. Entire demand problem solved."

Simple plan and probably thier best option, but Sony has tied the future of their lovely little hd format firmly to thier console. If one dies, they both die. It looks like an awsome console but sadly, I'm pretty certain that Mario, and Master Chief will be dancing on Solid Snake's grave this Christmas and it's all because Sony still insists on trying to shove expensive proprietary formats down consumers throats until one finally sticks or they go tits up trying.

It's about time they gave us a new map. I Won't buy "booster packs", although I couldn't even if I wanted to because the EA loader only runs un XP, I'm still Win 2K. Found no good reason to upgrade before Vista. Sad thing is these "booster packs" would have been free content if they hadn't completly shut out mod makers with thier asinine ranking system. I'll bet dollars to donuts that this will be the last patch before 2142 releases.

PLEEEEEEEESE buy our console. We'll make it do anything you want!!!!
Man, the bullshit just gets deeper and deeper. Every other day it seems there's a new feature, yet none of it was mentioned at E3. Just waiting for the keyboard attachment/latte milk steamer which should be coming around the corner any time now. If Sony's not careful, buy the time they're done trying to sell the unsell-able console, it'll have transformed into a VAIO desktop machine. Oh wait, that's right, if I have a PS3 I won't need a computer, I almost forgot. ROTFLMAO.

Doesn't really matter. Soon the mass exodus to 2142 will begin and EA's support for this game goes buh bye. Here's to hoping Quake wars is amazing.

"No one will play custom maps because you can't earn precious ranks on them, so the whole idea of modding the game is merely a nice fantasy.."

That's how I got a great deal of my points. You could always rely on the ranking system to make people stupid. I'd Lay C4 all out around a flag and wait for an interloper. Once the flag turns white, they'd come out of the wood work and dive in to get the precious capture points then, BOOOOM! I'd get 6 or 8 guys + Armor sometimes. Call for supplies, repeat. Yawn.

Still Play from time to time but it's just not Desert Combat. EA took a GREAT mod, sucked the fun out of it, and made it retail. Made sure no one wanted to play mods on it, then puts out "booster packs" that would have been FREE community mods barely 2 years ago. Desert Combat was more fun AND it was FREE. The corporate succubus that is EA destroys another awsome game. 2142 should be an interesting disaster.

1. Sony Bundles PS2 With PS3. Jun 6, 2006, 01:38 WebDemon

"Oh please dear God, buy our console!!! We've got kids to feed and Yoshi just bought a boat." Next thing you know the PS3 will make toaster strudel and give you a hand job.
Just like the tilt controller wasn't a last minute hack. Oh no we've had that all along. Sure. If this keeps up it'll have massage fuction by November. Only one change will finally bring people around and save your precious blu-ray and console. Fix the price point and for God's sake enough with the proprietary formats.

The smell of panic from Sony right now is so thick you could cut it with a knife. I truely beleive that they walked into E3 thinking that they were going to hand everybody's ass to them. In almost every division of that company it's been one bad desicion after another for years now. Atrac? Memory Stick? UMD? They just haven't figured out that proprietary formats that lock consumers into YOUR overpriced (which all things Sony are)products ain't gonna fly with consumers. Atari AND Nintendo both learned the hard way that market dominance under the previous generation doesn't guarantee that the good times will roll forever. We've all argued about it here adnauseum, but I think even they are starting to realize that they may have built a $600 boat anchor and the only thing left to do is to try anything to sell it. Remember "if you have a PS3, you don't need a computer..." from a couple of days ago? No rational PR dept. that had confidence in the product could come up with a statement like that.

It's kind of too bad because cards like this are going to have thier day, but they jumped the gun and blew it. Remember like ten or 12 years ago there was a VR headset on the market and about the only game supported was Mechwarrior 2 or something?
It was about 800 or 900 bucks and had a crappy max display res of 320x240 or something and gave people splitting headaches. Saw one in a compucenter once, it tanked and nothing of the sort since really. I'd hoped back then that we'd have decent, affordable tracking HMDs by now. Hope this debacle doesn't kill the idea because the potential that a physics processor could pring to the table is amazing.

"Sounds to me more like if you already have a PC, you don't need a PS3."

Nice, I bet the Sony execs would burst in flames if confronted with that logic. I know I've said it before but everything Sony's been saying since E3 sounds like a panicked attempt at damage control after being shocked that people thought they're uber-console was waaaaaay too expensive, and that they didn't drop to their knees in rapture at the sight of the much vaunted Blu-Ray. A statement like haveing a PS3 means not needing a computer is laughable. The PS3 will sell to the hardcore, but I think Sony is just now learning the hard lesson that consumers aren't quite as stupid as they like to beleive.

4. Re: what games are shipping with WII? May 31, 2006, 23:22 WebDemon

I think I'll pick a Nintendo too. I'll buy a PS3 when they're sold in bulk by the pound at the electronic surplus store, which is where blu-ray is going to end up after this epic slip up. I really think that Sony got the shock of it's collective life at E3 this year.

"Where are good locations to live in Toronto that are also affordable?"

Are you up at York U?
Depends on how you define affordable and where you'd like to be. Have a look at www.viewit.ca and it'll give you a rough idea at how much and where. Anywhere's gotta be better than Jane/Finch though. Except maybe Regent Park.

Agreed. If they think that the public is abusing them now...See what happens after you leave 700 000 stranded in 85 degree heat.

I had to pass by a picket on the way to work this morning and the fuckers seemed to be rather enjoying the chaos. Made me so angry, I could have gone over and flattened the smirking bastards but why give them the satisfaction. They should make them an essential service and that'll shut them up for good, of course there isn't a politician alive that has the guts to face down a union and it's votes. Good to see that the fare hike did a lot of frikin good.

Glad you got saved the hike down here in "the steaming jungle of death" that the downtown core was today Halsey. Always great to live in the core until the shit hits the fan.... Reminded me of the blackout, but with more lights:)
