Thanks Blue for following up on that. It's a fantastic game and willingness to change should be met halfway so I will pick this up on Steam. This is no different from DRM from companies like Activision, EA and so on. I know some of you own games from those companies. Give it some thought is all I'm saying, don't dismiss it outright.

The only question I have is AC2's DRM reduced to this level?

Doesn't appear to be unfortunately.
Well then I will still skip AC:B. What is the point in getting AC:B if you dont play AC2, which I wont touch because of the DRM.

When this started up it sounded more like using the Move controller for PC games and programs. Now it only turns out its for other PS3 development. Good job Sony.

And yes. They do need to release official PC drivers for the DS3.

Supposedly Ubisoft is caving on the DRM to the point where you only need to login once to get a hash then you can play offline thereafter for an unknown period of time but I could never confirm
It sounds more like the game calls home each and every time you launch it.

Because of this I skipped AC2 and will leave AC:B alone as well.

12 player limit? What is this, the late '90s?
I thought Q2 had 32/64 player maps out in the late 90's.

I remember it being a big deal back then. The maps were just strung together chunks of the SP game tho but it was still something to behold. You needed 12832MB ram or so to run them tho.

Finally home form work and still can not log in. Let alone the damned "Unsupported video" error is pissing me off to no end every time I try to play it.

- autoaim being turned on by default
As much as I like bitching at how bad this games is I really wish people would do some reading before running their mouth off.

AUTO AIM DOES NOTHING FOR KB&M. It has been stated by Crytech themselves. It only comes into play if you are using a gamepad. And if you are using a gamepad you need to be shot.

Yes its bullshit this option exists in myultiplayer on PC tho.

Out dated is right.

I can not even log in to PLAY the game. I already have a "MyCrysis" account and its not taking anything I enter.

Why do these stupid as shit developers insist on making games with this crap? What ever happened to just launching a game (not wading through 4-5 startup videos) and playing it?

Also has anyone found out how to get rid of the annoying as hell "Unsupported video card detected!" error that pops up EVERY time I launch the game?

I take it there will be scalable graphics settings in dx 10/11? I certainly hope so.

Not having adjustable graphics in dx9 mode is pc doom as far as I'm concerned. How could Crytek do that?!!!

They're supposed to have been one of the last remaining PC developers! They are the only ones to have pushed graphics technology forward in like the last half decade!

EDIT: The demo clocks in at 1.6 GB. I'm stuck on a low end DSL line that transfers only about 86-91 kilobytes per second. That leaves me with 5 hours of download time.
Interesting post - on the one hand you want a demo with DX11 and high res textures, on t'other you find the current one a bit big (and slow to transfer). Think about it.
But it is a *DEMO* which should be showing off the full capabilities of the game. Think about it.

Finally I can hit F12 instead of Print Screen.
Eh? I would rather it be print screen because well... its a PRINT SCREEN key.

This ranks up there with games not using the pause key to, you know, PAUSE.

Profit escaped the island (somehow) but was infected with alien DNA (somehow) and the first Crysis mission on the island was all master planed by this guy Jacob Hargreave who (somehow) knew about the existence of the aliens before anyone else. Now you have to kill him because he's a bad dude.
Many thanks for the "TL;DR" version.

Thing sounds like the original writing of the "story" did not take into account a possible sequel so they had to throw this trash together.

Im holding off to see if they are going to pitch a bitch over widescreen gaming calling it a "unfair advantage" again.

You can widescreen just fine with Bad Company 2 it even supports Eyefinity and you can adjust the FOV setting something ridiculous like 110 or so.

As for the price, it was $49.95 for the PC version the first few weeks when it was announced, instant pre-order. The DLC thing sucks but at least they're offering it for free to people who pre-order unlike the crap they're pulling with Bullitstorm and what EA did with Medal of Honor's "Hotzone" $10 DLC add-on a month after release.
FOV of 110 is ridiculous? LOL.

~100 (its not EXACTLY 100 but most games you can't specify .0 for FOV) is what you should be setting for 16:10 displays. 90 for 4:3. Ridiculous is more like 150 unless your doing that silly eyefinity crap.

It is because DICE doesn't do the FOV calculation the way other games do.

Usually in FPS games where this is configurable, you adjust the horizontal field of view so you can see more to the left and right. Battlefield: Bad Company 2 uses vertical FOV instead

believe me 110 makes the game so fisheyed it looks like you're going warp factor five through the maps.
Not surprising they went and did something silly like that. I googled the quote and found the calculator. Will have to hold onto that incase I get B3.

Tho PB banning in online games will have to wait till launch most likely.

The group of Epic people that handle the UDK must be completely different from the group that create games. Why? Because they don't seam to be royal dicks.
