Can you imagine the shitstorm if Valve did this blocking access to Steam? Bad precisent,EA!

If you logged into the Steam forums with your Steam account, Valve would probably do this too.
Valve would have a sueing shitstorm if they did this being that Valve does not own all the games on their service.

They ban people from singleplayer Starcraft though, which is undoubtedly the main draw for some people. I know I played through the campaign and then uninstalled.

Can you be more specific SV? I thought you could still play offline, you would just lose access to achievements. Blizzard usually doesn't ban an entire battle.net account, they ban on a game by game basis IIRC. Obviously there are exceptions for fraud/RMT/etc.

I'm not sure this is exactly what you are looking for Verno, but any cheating in the single player game gets you banned. There are tons of articles on it if you Google it, I just picked one.

And this is the exact reason I will not touch SCII and (sadly) D3.

The other thing I have with this is the same bullshit with Crysis 2.

Why do these damned games (online or not) all of a sudden require logins? This stupid crap is just really annoying and completely unnecessary.

I love the days where you just launched a game and played.

"Have you sold your souls to the EA devil?"

That is grounds for a 72 hour ban? Are the forum mods in Australia?

Im amazed that people are playing this demo online at all, let alone cheat. Ive never understood cheaters. Kind of defeats the purpose of the hobby.
They already have a great anti-cheat option.

Crappy console game with the inability to make accounts to even PLAY.

Shadow Broker is about the only good one.

Kasumi - Stolen Memory is OK if you want a cheep as hell companion. Kasumi makes the higher difficulty levels a cake walk.

It's painless on iTunes until the recovery fails and doesn't grab all of your music. I've been going back and forth with Apple's customer service for almost two years now trying to get back an album I bought on the iTunes store just after the iPhone launched. Luckily I was able to recover the album via torrent (after paying full retail price) because Apple certainly didn't give a flying fuck.

(If you've ever wondered why Apple products are "bug free", the expression is "deny till you die")
This must have been many moons ago being iTunes music has not hat DRM for at least 2-3 years.

Also, I'm kind of curious what happens when a PC dies and you can no longer log into it.

They can do the same thing apple does with Itunes. You can log into your account management and reset the activated computers.

Limit the amount of resets to 2-3 times a year or whatever, if need more resets you have to contact support.
5 machines can be active and you get 1 reset a year.

Eh yeah, that was my immediate worry too. I like the idea in and of itself, but what kind of recovery options are there?

Yeah that is always my first question about security like this.

What happens if it "breaks"?

Thanks Blue for following up on that. It's a fantastic game and willingness to change should be met halfway so I will pick this up on Steam. This is no different from DRM from companies like Activision, EA and so on. I know some of you own games from those companies. Give it some thought is all I'm saying, don't dismiss it outright.

The only question I have is AC2's DRM reduced to this level?

Doesn't appear to be unfortunately.
Well then I will still skip AC:B. What is the point in getting AC:B if you dont play AC2, which I wont touch because of the DRM.

When this started up it sounded more like using the Move controller for PC games and programs. Now it only turns out its for other PS3 development. Good job Sony.

And yes. They do need to release official PC drivers for the DS3.

Supposedly Ubisoft is caving on the DRM to the point where you only need to login once to get a hash then you can play offline thereafter for an unknown period of time but I could never confirm
It sounds more like the game calls home each and every time you launch it.

Because of this I skipped AC2 and will leave AC:B alone as well.

12 player limit? What is this, the late '90s?
I thought Q2 had 32/64 player maps out in the late 90's.

I remember it being a big deal back then. The maps were just strung together chunks of the SP game tho but it was still something to behold. You needed 12832MB ram or so to run them tho.

As much as I like bitching at how bad this games is I really wish people would do some reading before running their mouth off.

AUTO AIM DOES NOTHING FOR KB&M. It has been stated by Crytech themselves. It only comes into play if you are using a gamepad. And if you are using a gamepad you need to be shot.

Yes its bullshit this option exists in myultiplayer on PC tho.

Out dated is right.

I can not even log in to PLAY the game. I already have a "MyCrysis" account and its not taking anything I enter.

Why do these stupid as shit developers insist on making games with this crap? What ever happened to just launching a game (not wading through 4-5 startup videos) and playing it?

Also has anyone found out how to get rid of the annoying as hell "Unsupported video card detected!" error that pops up EVERY time I launch the game?
