That's kind of surprising considering the PS3/Steam bundle, but there's a lot of "ifs" towards the end of the article. We'll see how it all shakes out. I'm just glad I was able to activate my Steam copy before PSN crapped out. Whew!
Yeah these numbers simply don't mean shit because digital distro groups do not release numbers to the public (only to the developer/publisher of the game).

Ahh Blizzarad. Banning people who cheat in single player because they want people to play the game the way they DEMAND it to be played.

Wow another cool thing dropped from Portal 2 because of bad play testers.

Reminds me of the removal of dynamic pathing in L4D2 because it "confused the testers". Really?

Well I guess Portal 2 is another game that proves trailers can not be trusted to represent the game even in the smallest amount. I just think how kick ass the game would have been if it was really like the trailer in the article ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PGQOxdKkgt0 ).

They should release all that cut content as free DLC. I miss those levels from the E3.
Can I get a HELL YES!

Yeah I heard it was BAD. Insane load times, bugs, all sorts of things.

But to me its hearsay. I didn't get Witcher till the CE version came out.

Faith restored in Crytek, maybe not completely but this is a good step towards rebuilding some of the (butt) hurt feelings the PC community felt at the release of the game.

Encrypted game files really made me think they were putting the smack down on any form of tweaking or modding of the game.

There probably won't be a huge community supporting Crysis 2 for modding though, unless someone masterfully creates an engaging multiplayer mod beyond the team deathmatch included. Even then the cheaters and hackers have pretty much ruined the game. Will they be releasing dedicated server files too or is the editor only intended for single player modding?
Crytek has already burned themselves. The community is basically dead for Crysis 2 and not much they can do will change that.

While some call it 'butt hurt' I have to agree with a number of things people are complaining about. Most of all the lack of user run servers. Without these I think these tools might be severely limited. Being that yes you can make huge assed maps but can the hosting servers handle them? Can you have more than their pathetic 6x6 matches?

I really enjoyed the development of the Qunari. I find them to be a very interesting species. I would hope DA3 would focus primarily on them. Hell, I'd like to see a game or series developed around them. Their philosophy of Qun is fascinating.
I actually hope there is never a DA3 and this series is put to bed over the travesty that is DA2.

Wow... I really shouldn't have read that much condensed Witcher awesomeness just now. Need game now... need 3rd book right now (May 1st actually).
Third book?! What the title?

I love how this thread was hijacked like a mofo.

This is very frustrating as a consumer to have no idea what reality is on something like this. I would like to see valve, as well as all sales channels in general, regulated to force this data to be released on a quarterly basis at least. From the stand point of protecting the public it makes sense that you get a record of what a company is grossing and how on a regular basis to compare it their tax filings.

It seems like this info is being withheld deliberately so the public cannot make assessments of how these digital sales are doing. Instead we have to work with data from the company as if that info is not bias. Oh you sold a million copies of that? Oh well that must be a good game then right? Sales statistics should not be a marketing tool if they are not true.
What the hell purpose would this information serve to Bob the consumer? Really. The only people that truly have any business knowing this information are parties directly involved and shareholders if its a public company.

Jesus Christ. People bitching about the load times seriously need to shut the hell up or upgrade their 1980's HDD. You seriously should have at least a SATA II HDD by now and almost all of them are at least 7200 RPM. I do not think they make desktop HDD's slower than that anymore.

7200 RPM SATA II *LAPTOP* HDD and the load times were no more than 10 seconds. Usually less.

While I like to bitch with everyone else about shitty console ports... THIS GAME IS NOT ONE OF THEM.

The ARG acomplished nothing. P2 is coming out on April 19th as planned.
This.

And console users are playing it early once again (stores breaking street aside).

Hell even without this ARG it would not unlock till 9AM. Why the flying fuck can valve never release games at midnight on a day they are to be out?

It unlocks at ~4pm Aus time, so this promo means we get an entire evening of play rather than having it come out closer to midnight... *grin*
Yeah for me it comes out at ~2AM instead of ~9AM. Big god damned whoop.

Valve should have calculated things so we stood a chance to get it released on the weekend. THAT would have been something to give a damn about. But by 10PM on FRI simple math told you that the game would have been out on MON at the earliest. When I found this out I stopped giving a damn.

Here is my question. If you are playing Portal 2 on PS3 logged into steam and you want to play something on your PC via steam will the PS3 version be kicked out?

Kinda like bullshit Live where if your playing a GfWL game on PC and signed in and you try to use say... anything Live on 360 the PC gets booted out.
Answering my own post here. Taken from a Valve post on the steam forums:

If you are asking about whether your Steam account can be used on PC at the same time as PS3, it can. You can play any of your PC games on your PC and stay connected to Steam while also being connected to Steam with the same linked Steam account on your PS3 for Portal 2. This is different than the single session at a time model Steam has always had on PC/OSX. The model is now one single PC or OSX session, plus one PS3 session at once. If you receive a friends message while signed in on PS3 and PC then it will be broadcast to both locations, same for game invites, etc. One thing that you cannot do here is play Portal 2 with yourself by playing on PC and PS3 and inviting yourself. To play online co-op two separate Steam accounts must be involved.
