News Comments > EA: Origin Accounts "May be Cancelled for Non-use"
60. Re: EA: Origin Accounts Aug 3, 2011, 22:27 necrosis

I had a Steam account for almost 2 years before I actually used it. Registered when it first came out but didn't get my first Steam game (HL2) till years later. Did the same thing with Twitter. Had an account around when it came out, never used it till I got a iPhone.

Canning accounts if you don't use them on a service that is loaded with DRM? Achievements are moot. I lost my Quake Live account because I didn't use it for a while. Never got a notice or was warned it was going to nuked. Lost my achievement for playing the beta and enduring its teething issues. Bigcry

Which is in and which is out?

When was the last swing? I think this is the FIRST swing. The first time consoles stood a chance next to PC gaming ever. So saying things 'swing'... heh you must be able to see the future.

I just haven't been super interested in most Ubisoft titles over past several years. Not really happy with what they did to Splinter Cell, Rainbow Six or Ghost Recon. Assassin's Creed is the one decent thing they've done in awhile. I'm simply buying less Ubisoft games because they're making JUST DANCE 2 PARTY BABIEZ instead of games I want to play. Hell the DRM is kind of inconsequential, its only affected two titles I want.
Kinda the same here. The DRM turned me off the latest Splinter Cell and the gameplay sealed the deal.
Rainbow Six has been dead since RVS to me. The pile of shit R6: Vegas and everything after completely destroyed the franchise.
Ghost Recon the same thing. Fond memories of playing the first game for hours with friends on both Mac & PC... on the same servers.

AC is the only thing from Ubi I really care about right now.

Same here. I only come close when I reload computers. 99.99% of the download is just reinstalling Steam games.

I think the reason DA:o and it's DLC/Expansions is still on Steam because it actually sells.
With DA:O not all of it. Awakening is on Steam but all the little ones require you to get Bioware points added to your EA account (from their website) then downloaded in game.

The stupid thing is, they still sell DA:O on Steam, which has the exact same thing in it.

Stupid pissing match between Valve and EA. Not that I give two shits about DA2, but this sets worrisome precedents.

Stupid thing is people do not understand policy changes.

DA2 came out before Valve made this change, if I'm not mistaken.

Creston
Possible. The other thing is we do not know who pulled the game yet. Was it EA or Valve.

Internet and PC neophytes like you crack me up, Velvet boy.

Long boot times? How slow is your PC? Are you running something from the stone age?

Steam *is* the least invasive out there. Plus unlike any other DRM, you can buy games for less than 5 bucks when they are 10x that in retail.

I love laughing at the anti-steam pussy sniffers like you. All the cock-sucking little pansy ass fuckers that think Steam is some boogy man out to rape their virgin assholes.

Fucking pussy.

Do you think this kind of personality is doing you any favors? Honestly? Does your wife realize this is who you really are when given anonymity and no restrictions on what you say?

As for the only actual technical issue you addressed, no it does not take THAT long for Steam to boot up, but it takes a hell of a lot fucking longer than just double clicking a simple exe without DRM on it does.
While I do not agree with his way of expressing his opinion I do agree with it.

Is Steam really that damned bad? 5-10 seconds of your life that precious to you? Seriously I can not fathom your reasons for hating Steam. Your reasons for hating it are so shallow its laughable. Its like complaining it takes to long to open your front door because you need to get the keys out of your pocket.

Sims or its expansions have occupied at least one, and often multiple top spots in the top 10 almost constantly since the original release of sims 1.

The other thing is, unless my memory is shot, there are hair styles there that were not in 1 or 2. I thought because you could migrate your save from 1 to 2 was the reason 2 had the same hair styles.

Anyone ever notice that Bioware for some odd reason has something against their female characters having long hair? Dragon Age, not one playable char has long hair to choose from, Mass Effect games. None there either. I would mention one of their game but I canít right now because of NDA.
Not a problem here. I always had a thing for women with short hair. The whole tomboy thing I find hella cute.

And it doesn't end up all over your shower >(
So true. Its why I get my hair cut short now. Less trips to the store to get more Drano.
