Hrm...

Yeah, that's a valid reason to hate America. Umm, does this reason also translate to Japan? Cause lets see, they release games all the time for PS2, Game Cube, X-Box, etc. that don't get released until months later in other markets.

I definitely agree that $20-$30 in shipping isn't worth it, and admit that the sense of exploration is lost some months after release... But don't tar America over that. And oh, living in the Warez capital of the world (although I think Taipei may be giving you guys in Hong Kong a run for the money) might explain why anyone is reluctant to release anything there.

To the people who say the developers are now sitting on their butts after the game has gone gold, have you ever worked in software development? Your last month of work is _hell_. So they are probably on vacation, or some of them may have already been moved on to other projects as part of release "wind-down". So you can rest assured, that if they are "sitting on their butts" they are on vacation, or working on another cool game.

Oh yeah, and for you who think spending $50-$60 (like say on a book) for a one time experience is silly, grow up. You happily spend $10 for a 2/hr experience to see a movie in the theater. I'm guessing, but I'd imagine that without cheating this game might be around 10+ hours of play time. And, if you think spending money like that on a book is stupid, maybe, just maybe, you're an unlettered idiot.

All that said, I agree it'd be nice to have a demo... But that doesn't justify the stupidity of the reaction on this board. All I've read are so many "Wahhh, I want it!" posts if in different words - using that as justification to say or do nasty things.
