The leaked demo has working multiplayer
And for people who think there's nothing innovative about STALKER, name one other FPS set in Chernobyl. They fact they chose that location and are making it work instead of coughing up another World War 2 shooter is pretty impressive.

I figured out how to edit settings for the leaked STALKER alpha. Just open User.ltx in Notepad. Everything is in there. For high end cards it runs a lot nicer if you lower the framerate from the default 200 to 112, and min desired fps to 35. I also set it to high resolutions, 32 bit color, and other stuff.

How are you so sure HL2 or Doom 3 are going to be so good? People had the same attitude about Invisible War and countless other failed mainstream titles. Until the game is released everything we know isn't worth a grain of salt.

I prefer Derek Smart's brand of bullshit over what's shoveled by Warren Spector, the animals at Valve, or any other "leaders of the industry". At least he's entertaining in a funny sort of way.

None of that shit matters. Fox always learns how to fuck it up one way or another. Shit engine, bad netcode, broken multiplayer, no suppport. Take your pick.

They're just lying to try to cover their own asses. Black Isle is gone. Most of the team who worked on Fallout 3 confirmed this at the Interplay boards and Fallout sites. The company exists in name only.
IPLY is focusing 100% on console action games. Fallout 3 will only happen if they sell the license. And even then it's doubtful it wouldn't be used to fund more console games.

hurdy gurdy, I think the point was what has Interplay made recently that isn't shit. Fallout 2 came out over 5 years ago. In the last few years we've seen the same rehashed and watered down bullshit with 3 major half done projects suddenly cancelled because of the idiot market guys working at Interplay. You know how much money they have right now? $7000! Nobody can exist on that.

It's mostly a bunch of the same ini tweaks fans discovered weeks ago. Now if they can figure out how to get the game running smoothly on the PC in the first place and release those promised high resolution textures, it MIGHT be worthy of the bargain bin at most.

This has nothing to do with piracy. Over the past several years Interplay made some REALLY bad decisions. They sold off a number of licenses which could have easily put them on top (The Matrix, for one), cancelled projects that were in development for 2 or more years, and the few games they release suck balls and don't sell (Lionheart, Run Like Hell).

Bioware doesn't know how to make non-shit combat and anything besides FedEx quests. But I'm willing to bet if Interplay sold the Fallout license they'd be the first to snatch it up.

LET IT DIE, LET IT DIE, LET IT DIE, LET IT DIE, LET IT DIE
If nobody has the license it can't be further fucked up. The best we can hope for is a new awesome post apoc RPG by an emerging developer who hasn't sold out the PC gamers or is on a short leash to their publisher.
