Are they suing for money? For lost 'licensing fees'? No. They're suing to become insiders on the IPO. Does that even have a legal foundation? IANAL, but it sounds pretty ridiculous.

Actually those games just prove that Troika shouldn't be making engines sounds like bethesda...imagine what bethesda could do with a stable engine environment.....

People are less mad that it's delayed than in the manner which it was handled by Valve. Saying "on schedule", "release date unchanged" "remains sept. 30" and then going quiet about a week ago, and now the date is "pushed bacK to an unknown date" a week before.
Unless their building burned down, they probably suspected it would be delayed some time ago. And what's more, they still haven't released an OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE. It's all emails from vps and stuff. I know they like to be weird, but can't they have a website like everyone else, and post their own information?

Yeah, honestly, what is up with that pot leaf? And I'm all for pop-ups; they don't make it take longer to get to the site and...they can be blocked.

I agree with Chris...people are talking about how HL2 is "this most hyped game ever" and such...gimme a break. Half-life 2 wasn't even on the radar before E3 this year, after being in development for so long. We can all name tons of games that we've known about for years and have been delayed over and over.

In fairness to the interactivity of Doom3, remember that in that old e3 video you saw boxes and things being knocked off shelves by gunfire. So some of that interactivity is there.
Secondly, Carmack may be an engine god but he's clueless about what gamers want. For example, he initially ruled out the rag doll physics for dead baddies because he thought it was just a gimmick. It was eventually put in because "evidently people really wanted it", which seemed to surprise him. Now, months later, the physics engines are what everyone is salivating over. Surprise, surprise.
Carmack wants photo-realistic graphics; I want a pseudo-realistic WORLD.
