| I was excited about this game and had intended to buy and play it. I'm not a console gamer and therefor I cannot and will not buy this game as long as it's an Xbox exclusive. Regrettable as I've been waiting for a good thriller a while and the last Silent Hill didn't do much for me. |

(a) a kid who can reel off the spec of his PC right down to the speed of his memory would already know his computer wasn't up to D3. -> Not necessarily. Just because someone knows what they have, doesn't mean they know what they need.
(b) a kid who tells you to "eat shit" doesn't have a father who cares. His dad would most likely kick your ass for trying to have a conversation with him. -> Again, I've been to plenty of lans (and public places in general) where 'kids' feel they have to act that way to fit in (or stick out), when otherwise they would never say such a thing. And often, if their parents knew they said such a thing, those kids would never be allowed to speak again. Just because the kid acts rotten, doesn't mean he/she is. Just because the kid is rotten, doesn't mean the parents are.
(c) you're just dumping on a kid who's opinion you didn't agree with. Who's right in that scenario? It's like Teddy said, turn the mirror on yourself. -> People aren't open to enlightment. Never have been, never will be. You just have to roll with it and accept that there are people who's opinions you will disagree with and that they may not even acknowledge that your opinion exists.
(d) if you were sitting down in a store does that mean you were behind a cash register? -> He may have been in a furniture store or a restaurant (they are stores too.)

When beings from outer space come to enslave the human race and seek the worst examples of human intelligence, they will have to look no further than a thread where people argue who cares the least about a subject they pursue to the bitter end.

Punkbuster was POS, and is the major factor for me to stop playing Q3A CTF.
Not only would people still cheat, but I ended up getting bounced out of almost every game I joined.
Adding PB to a game is as good as sending it to the grave. Maybe if you bought Quake3 and had a legal copy, you wouldn't have problems with it. I run a server and it drives me nuts to have people constantly emailing me "I can't play on your server because Punkbuster won't let me because I'm using someone else's key (or) because I'm using a no-cd crack."
Get a job

I remember officially hearing these things over time, I'd make references and links, but I don't care...
First, they were using the Quake 2 engine. Second, they were using the Unreal engine. Third, they upgraded to using the UT2k3 engine. Fourth, there's a rumor they're using the Doom 3 engine. Now, they're using their own engine. WTF?
Stop reinvinting the wheel and give us our damn bandwagon!

Yet another year. By the time Half-Life 2 comes out, it won't be anything special. It'll be behind on the times and behind on the technology. People are tired of waiting and I suspect this will decrease sales. I've had my copy of HL2 on preorder from bestbuy for forever now. I hope they don't forget!
BTW, when's Duke Forever coming out? When Half Life 2 comes out on judgment day and trumpets sound?

I stopped reading HardOCP (and TechReport) a long time ago. Their commentary, reviews, and opinions are strongly biased and often immature. They deserve whatever they get. That being said, I have no idea what's going on and I'm too lazy to read and find out.

"Doom3Maps.de is temporarily closed in protest of id software's lack of support for DOOM 3 fan sites..." You shouldn't run a fan site for the publicity or popularity, you should run it because you want to. And, if you become popular and known, then you're lucky and it's an added bonus. Stop whining!

I have a marvel idea last night. Perhaps they should port it to the Xbox and have Microsoft run uru's online stuff on their xbox live systems.

I don't know/remember how long after SH2 came out for the PS2 that it came out for the xbox, but it seems all the big talk is about the pc version coming out. I'm getting rid of my pc cause I have no need for it anymore, I want an Xbox version! I'm sure it'll come out, I just hope I don't have to wait very long.

"geforce 2 actually supports version 0.5..."
actually you're pulling that outa..god knows where... gf2 didn't have any pixel shading support, it has the "GTS" GigaTexel Shader, where it could do 8 simultaneous texture effects... not a pixel shader.
