I still havent gotten around to getting the first one. Will have to remedy that situation soon...

Gets real tough through the middle and all the way to the end, at least it was for me (my character was a decker, with skills in melee and small arms). I always brought 3 other companions along for runs if the choice was presented (at least 1 healer, 1 ranged small arms expert, and another healer or small arms expert)

The way this version of shadowrun works, I'd recommend always multi-spec'ing a decker to be a rigger as well. Those drones are absolute murderous beasts.

As for the save anywhere feature, it's in the 1.2 beta patch. It seems to be included in the general engine build, though people still need to make some changes in their module to have it work there too.

Dragonfall is just purely a story campaign. All fixes/enhancements etc are in the 1.2 patch which everyone will get.

wait a minute...

I get seasick playing FPS games because of the FOV? I could play them again if I could adjust the FOV? Here I thought it was just me getting old. Is there some sort of magic number or is it different for different people?

Oh Jivaro...

What monitor do you have, and how far away do you sit? The sweet spot is usually somewhere between 90-110, and it's kinda personal preference as to which you prefer. Wide screen monitors do better with a wider FoV, but if you sit further away you can lower it a little. I'm usually right around 100, but I have a 32" 16:9 monitor that I'm sitting maybe 3 feet away from.

If you're getting seasick, you're sitting too close with too small of a FoV.

Gears - The series with a plot so forgettable that Bulletstorm actually surpassed it.

Bulletstorm was fucking awesome, btw. One of the very few games I've ever managed to actually finish all the way. Excellent story and interesting characters. Not a 'deep' story, but not everything has to be to be fun. Will always love that game...

=-Rigs-=

I actually quite enjoyed it, but not for the characters. Dear God...

While investigating a hosting company known for sheltering child porn last year the FBI incidentally seized the entire e-mail database of a popular anonymous webmail service called TorMail.

And this is why the NSA's "we're only using the database for active investigations" horseshit is precisely that: horseshit.

I also loved how they 'incidentally' seized the entire e-mail database.

"Hey guys, it's asking me here if I want to copy This Mailbox or All Mailboxes?"
"Huh, strange. Try All Mailboxes. That should get us what we want."

More PC gamers enjoy playing DayZ RIGHT NOW, despite the bugs and missing features, than they enjoy playing Assassin's Creed IV, Call of Duty: Ghost, Payday 2, and many other new "finished and bug-free" games.

Really the only thing that that proves is that people play the latest games. Most everyone is undoubtedly already done with AC4 and Ghosts.

That said, DayZ's success is kind of gobsmacking. And I'm a little worried that it means that more and more devs are just going to throw their alpha up for sale and expect me to fund the rest of development...

I don't think "move some things around" is feasible for many people.

Your desktop is a huge ugly bulk of wires likely buried somewhere it isn't seen.
Your best TV is probably in your best decorated room and one of the centerpieces of your family.

No, but the average consumer isn't the target for this technology anyway. Joe Schmoe console user isn't going to get a PC capable of playing games, then fiddling with a linux OS to get it to stream his PC games to his TV.

The tech-savvy PC gamer who this is aimed at is more likely to use it, and for those guys the concept of moving things around isn't going to be as upsetting.

But since this will stream to anything with SteamOS installed, my main concern is alleviated anyway.

and the announcement grants this is an "as-yet-unproven studio" but Microsoft's Phil Spencer says this is "to be expected of us, as we tend to make pretty shit games anyway."

Common Sense: 66% of people support really shady Kickstarter projects without doing any kind of research whatsoever.

Because your workhorse PC and your great TV may not be remotely near each other.

No, but how many people are going to spend 500 bucks rather than move some things around?

You can stream to/from anything that can run a Steam client (doesn't have to be SteamOS).

Ah, okay. Thanks Esoteric.

So I'm still not 100% sure on this. Can you stream stuff from your PC just to a Steambox, or can you stream it to anything with SteamOS on it?

If the latter, that's great. If the former, then why not just buy a long HDMI cable instead?

I guess the one thing that DayZ and Rust's dominance is showing is that there's a helluva lot of PC gamers that just love to grief the hell out of each other.

At least they've got their own games now, maybe they can stay out of the others.

I agree, don't delay the Super Bowl for snow. These guys are being paid more money for one day, than most people will see in their lives, to play a game. They need to realize they aren't any different from any stage production, and the show must go on. The spectators who have spent thousands of dollars for a once in a lifetime event didn't plan for the extra day, because why should they? Where are they going to house the fans for an extra day? Reschedule all their flights? Call their bosses and say they need an extra day off? Is the NFL planning to organize and PAY for all of that?

Play in the snow you fucking pansies.

It's not the players asking for this. It's the fucking media. They have been bitching about this game being played in bad weather since it was announced to be in NJ three fucking years ago.

I'll call NFL players a lot of things, but the last thing they are is pansies. These guys would play if it was putting down a foot of snow in an hour. But all the media cunts can't possibly sit there with cold hands?!

You couldn't even check the weather twice a day with 250MB, and Verizon fucking knows it. So they'll happily hit people with the $400 per MB overage. Why the fucking FCC doesn't do something about this kind of blatant THEFT just shows how corrupt they really are.
