That is incredibly impressive. Kudos Notch/Mojang.

Also, holy shit, the original Mario for the NES sold 40 million copies?

Dear God, how dumb are people that they fall for this phishing shit. "Hi, we need you to run this file we just sent to your computer, k?!"

We teach four-year-olds not to take candy from strangers, but apparently on the internet almost everyone is a 2 year old.

Oh and just for the sake of testing in F1 I've tried and raced very cautiously (started from pole position and I was in last place after 5 laps) to see if my car will feel like I am driving on ice if I take care of my tires, instead of flying into every corner.
Exact same results. From one lap to the next it is like a switch being flipped and the car slides around like the track became ice. While the Ai is driving the same or faster.
It just frustrates the shit out of me.

Which game is that? I haven't actually played an F1 game in probably ten years or so.

Nevertheless, I still want long races.

Cutter. I'm TOTALLY Brad Pitt.

No. I'm handsome, though some women have called me pretty and Brad is definitely pretty. In high school I got Tom Cruise comparisons - when Taps came out everyone was like 'Whoa that's you!'. Personally I'd rather be more rugged like Steve McQueen and guys like that. My pal's dad was very McQueen like, all the women loved him, all the men wanted to be him.

The King of Cool

Yeah yeah, whatever, Hodor.

Iirc you could set them to longer as well not only double, but from what I am seeing the shorter race lengths aren't a problem as you are sweating through those 4-5 laps races to be over with as the Ai is breathing down your neck waiting for you to make a mistake.

But that's just it, you make one mistake in a five lap race and you're done (against good AI anyway.) If you're running a 25 lap race, you can make a mistake and still make it up.

I'd always run real length races in the F1 games I played (so 60-70 laps), and I just think it's way more fun than these games where you race 3 laps and wooo, you're the winner.

So you've been out in front by a good bit after running a great race?
Yes. And I've been mid-pack after running a bad race and back of the pack after running a terrible race.
Of course, the length of the races in the career mode start out short (3-5 laps) so you're never really that far ahead. I've been about 1 second a lap better than the best AI in a race or two and finished about 5 seconds ahead at the end.

That at least sounds promising. Can you force the game to give you longer races right off the bat, or is it stuck with the "you're in the beginning of career mode, so you do 3 lap races?"

It's an incredible idea, and I hope they pull it off, but so far it's a lot of promises and really no reports of gameplay.

I'll get excited for a PC version once it's out on the PS4 and is a great actual game.

Cuttereston are right. We all know it takes $1,000,000 to add a towel to a space hangar, so how could they pull of a nonlinear FPS with RPG elements for just $50,000? Ridiculous.

"We finally managed to get our panel access back but not before he had removed all EBS [Amazon Elastic Block Store] snapshots, S3 [Amazon Simple Storage Service] buckets, all AMI's [Amazon Machine Images], some EBS instances and several machine instances," Code Spaces said in an announcement on its website. "In summary, most of our data, backups, machine configurations and offsite backups were either partially or completely deleted."

Put all your shit in the Cloud! Look how safe it is!

Btw, if an offsite backup can be deleted through the same control panel as your onsite backup, it's not a fucking offsite backup, and your "full redundancy" claims were horseshit. I hope your customers sue each of you morons into bankruptcy.

Areal's story is not linear players can choose how their characters act and speak everything from how you talk to who you kill changes the storyline of Areal. There is no morality system in Areal, so you are free to make choices that you think are best in any given situation, without being blinded and limited by a standard good/evil system. Ultimately, Areal is the culmination of everything that we want to see from a post apocalyptic game, and it's something that we can realize with full creative freedom because of the unique platform that is Kickstarter.

And you can do it for 50K?? Can you hold on a second, I'm calling bullshit.

Edit: CUTTERRRRRRRR!!!!! Shakefist

From gog, I got (so far):

Shock 2
Still Life 2 (no idea what it was, but free)
Omerta (free)
Carma 2
Riddick
Wing Commander (had most of these but not Prophecy and Privateer 2, completed the set)
Ultima 1-9 + Underworld set (nice gog set)
F-117 (played F-19 for hundreds of hours when I was much younger)
Undying
Magrunner (free)

Ah okay, I already had bought most of those when they came out.

I'm still pissed that I missed the day a few years ago when DA:O Ultimate was $2.50, hasn't been that price again since

DA:Ultimate is easily worth full price, so just get it for 7.50 and you'll likely enjoy the hell out of it. I just finished replaying it and most of the DLC, and it's been an absolutely awesome 80-odd hours.
(and it's like my ninth playthrough)

I'm having the feeling that this is some lame attempt at making top dollar with games that have been available for quite some time.

It's what Sony and MS are doing on their 'new' consoles, and what big publishers are currently doing just about everywhere, and what Hollywood's been doing for the past decade. And they've all made absolutely containers full of money off that strategy, so...

You might have to try the "unofficial demo" to find out if you like this game or not.
I am kind of pissed at Codemasters myself for the cash grabbing they've been doing with all their franchises from Dirt to F1 but this game might be a good one.
Althought they've been going down the Need For Speed road lately with the "ship an empty disc as finished game and everything is DLC" strategy.
I used to pour endless amount of time into their first games, Dirt1 and Grid1, but everything kinda went downhill from there on.

Edit: If you still want to pick the game up GMG has a 25% off coupon that works on Grid

I think I'll just wait and see how awesome Project Cars and AC are before deciding on this one. I can't really shake the feeling that they did Grid Autosport because they know PC and AC are going to just utterly devastate any future iterations they do.

As if people don't already have a blurred sense of responsibility for thier actions, someone is now making a game with the express point of teaching that there should be no consequences for acts of violence.

Why don't we just start making games where the object is to rape women, or abduct and molest children? No consequences, right? No good or evil, right? No difference whatsoever... right?

Right.

And people think climate change is a problem?
