Cool. I'd been thinking about replaying Soulstorm again at some point. I played it when it came out and it was a massive resource hog which made me get really fed up with how long it took to load everything (like 40 seconds to load a map.)

On a modern computer it should be a lot better.

My big worry is that the day/night cycle is going to break my ~ 300 modded buildings, which of course don't have a texture overlay for the night cycle.

Holy cow those people are fucking idiots...

Direct quotes:

Very reasonable pricing I must say.

oh snap! less than half of what I had anticipated its price being... excellent...

I like the price. I will take 2.

Cool, thats a nice price :)

but that price is about half what I was expecting so I might just do the right thing and get both.

That's just from half the posts on the FIRST FUCKING PAGE. o_O YOU ARE PAYING $425 FOR SOME PICTURES OF A FUCKING PRETEND SPACESHIP.

That's going to be a lot of ship for your dollar.

... I don't even... I ... what...

The add-on contains the full E:D game and sells for full price.

That's how Arenanet is selling GW2: Heart of Thorns. Buy the expansion, get the base game for free.

I don't have any particular issue with that type of business model (even though it's kind of a slap in the face to your loyal customers), but it does mean that it makes very little sense to buy E:D now, when the expansion PLUS the original game comes out in a few weeks.

Do movie and TV actors get paid residuals? I mean if its not in their contract?

Creating ART (any kind of art) is one thing. You leave behind a legacy. If it sells, more power to you. But simply performing what someone else wrote....why the fuck would you get paid for eternity for that?

By that reasoning, why would actors get paid? They're just "performing what someone else wrote."

And yes, they get paid residuals, because it IS in their contracts, because they went on strike to get that in their contracts. The same as what the VAs are considering.

All you need and trustworthy since ever.

You consider gamecopyworld.com trustworthy? Their .exes are loaded with viruses...

There was nothing "nefarious" about mod authors wanting to be paid for their work, PJHF... Not only should you expect something like this in the future, it's the right thing to do.

Well, yes and no. There's nothing nefarious about mod authors wanting to be paid. In fact, there are several mods which are absolutely deserving of being paid only.

The nefarious part came when the Paid Mods scheme came about, and suddenly mods that had always been free were 'threatening' to go paid only, and said mods had a huge number of other mods reliant on them, so all of a sudden we had a situation where people would almost be forced to pay up if they wanted to keep using their favorite mods. (Even then that scenario was probably unlikely, but it was possible.)

As long as they make paid mods paid from the get-go AND curate them to make sure it isn't just blatant theft of someone else's property (which was what the first paid Skyrim texture mod turned out to be), I'd have no issues with it.

The LG Flagship OLED TV performed extremely well throughout all of the lab tests and viewing tests. It is unquestionably the best performing TV that we have ever tested or watched… with absolutely stunning and beautiful picture quality across the board. In terms of picture quality the LG OLED TV is visually indistinguishable from perfect. Even in terms of the exacting and precise lab measurements it is close to ideal.

Could it be? Could this fucking horrible LCD tech finally die?

Of course, you pay (currently) $6,000 US for perfection But prices are going to be going down and I want a simple 28 or 30" OLED desktop screen! 0.1ms refresh times, perfect black values, infinite contrast, 30% less power use than LCD even with dynamic background clusters.

This is the future... finally.

I hope you'll enjoy buying a new one every ~ 4 years if you use your OLED a lot, though...

By the way, we have a new operating system available. Don't you want it?"

Microsoft didn't make SafeDisc. Can we get some people who actually know what they're talking about around here?

It might help if you learn to read. I never said that they made it. They did release games with it when they still published PC games. Now they turn off the driver hook that it works with, basically breaking those games unless you feel confident you can somehow find a cracked .exe without 6 viruses in it.
