He's not a marketing drone, hes the games producer. He was also misquoted:

"Update: Yamagiwa has stated via Twitter that the "30 FPS is the best framerate to play action games in," quote from the PlayStation Lifestyle interview is a misquote/translation. "We are to assign 1080p/30fps for Bloodborne considering its game designs, but didn't say it's the best choice for all action games" he said

Emphasis mine.

I liked this reply:

@giwamasa Um...yes you did, or do you not understand English?

In any case, FEEL THE POWER OF NEXT CURRENT PREVIOUS GEN!!!!
It's sad how pathetically underpowered these "new" consoles are.

Some posts from other developers are saying stay away from this like the plauge. They abused Early Access - took money and ran.

Yep. They basically said "we'll keep developing it as long as people keep buying it," and as soon as the funds stopped, they canceled work.

They're not the only ones doing that particular type of "early access" (more aptly called : keep paying me while I work on this game), but they're probably the most high-profile.

Schweeeeeeeeeettttttt!!!!

Be warned that especially Xwing will probably kick your ass from here to hell and beyond. Even back then that game was so fucking hard it caused me to wreck several good joysticks. The escort missions in it should be required learning for all devs on "How To Really Piss Off Your Players."

I'm proud to say I beat EVERY x-wing mission without cheating, including Imperial Pursuit and B-Wing. I even joined an "online" ace pilot club where you had to fly a custom mission in an A-wing, where they had those H shaped freighters docked two together and you had to thread the eye of the needle. To qualify you basically had to do this at top speed, all lasers and shields rerouted to engines. That was some fucking seat-of-your-pants flying.

In hindsight, the odds were so over the top stacked against you that they were insane. One ship vs like 50 enemies in waves of 3 to 5. Frequently in a Y-wing

The hardest mission was killing the star destroyer in a fucking y-wing. My wingmen got wiped out instantly and I did it by myself over the course of like an hour. Turns out you can turn off the targeting computer and target the shield generators on that star destroyer before sub-systems were a thing in the game. Dual proton torps could take out the shield generators barely and then you had 45 minutes of strafing runs in the y-wing to kill the bitch with lasers.

I beat everything in Xwing, Tie and Alliance, but there were a few missions that were so fucking annoying that I basically just never bothered to replay them again. (at least Alliance let you skip three missions to continue on with the story.)

Having to defend a single fucking shuttle from Tie Bombers who come in from various quadrants at timed intervals, and if you're a second slow you see 12 proton torpedoes going after that shuttle is just too aggravating for my taste anymore. There was one in Alliance too where you have to protect a convoy from a several capship attacks, and it took me forever, and I could never beat it until I finally realized that even though they say you have to hurry to defend the convoy at the next nav point, you actually can just go back to base, land, and get more proton torpedoes to bring for the next wave. Only way I could ever complete that one.

Taking out Star Destroyers was easy, just incredibly boring. Just dual proton torp the shield generators, then hang right behind its engine where it can't hit you, and sit there for 30 minutes firing lasers at full power. I even killed the Executor that way; I think it took like an hour's worth of just sitting there holding the fire button down. Not exactly thrilling...

But Tie Fighter was incredible. There's one mission where, IIRC, you have to dogfight Tie Defenders while you are in a Tie Bomber. When the mission started I actually yelled "THAT'S FUCKING BULLSHIT!" only to finish the whole thing in the first try.

Ok, maybe that's selling it a bit short but at the time the Origin games were notorious for amazing presentation that your probably couldn't enjoy until your next PC upgrade and slim pickings on gameplay variety.

I'm sorry, what? Origin gave us, in the space of roughly six years:

Space Rogue
Wing Commander (1, 2, 3, and 4), Strike Commander and Pacific Strike
Ultima 6, 7, and 8
Wings of Glory
Bioforge
Cybermage
Crusader 1 and 2
Privateer 1 and 2

And that's considered "slim pickings on gameplay variety" in your book? Holy shit, who do you consider a dev who varies up the games they make then?

Wow, is that Wired article ever depressing.
Unfortunately that's the real world for you. There are a lot of sick individuals out there, and it takes a massive labor force to keep them from communicating with the rest of the world.

I had no clue it was that massive, but then you think about it, and realize the sheep of the world post roughly 900 hojillion bits of verbal diarrhea on Facebook every second, and it starts to make sense.

Saw this article today and figured I'd post it here, since we've had ongoing discussions regarding 38 Studios.

Curt Schilling says it's his own fault.

Doesn't go into much 38 studios detail (it's primarily all about him surviving dipping cancer), but it's still a decent read.

Who got paid off to go back to Office? Always lovely when corrupt government officials waste tax dollars.

Going to Open Office was dumb of them anyway, because Open Office is no longer supported, and all their devs now work on Libre Office.

Ah, I see: Their predicament is understandable because the city is using a very old edition of OpenOffice, which dates back to 2010.

So now they'll go to MS Office, probably Office 2007 which they got for cheap

Which says everything right there. Twitter is the playground for the biggest fucking narcissistic tools on the planet, so it makes sense that all this bullshit happens on there.

So far every one of my KS has produced a pretty damn good game. Only Torment and the Obsidian one whose name escapes me at the moment to go.

Of course, I didn't back projects by Joe Unknown who promises to make a miracle watch, or a miracle camera that can instantly teleport itself to the moon, or an RPG the size of Baldur's Gate 2, all for 20.000 fucking dollars.

Congratulations! You're playing by the rules of modern politics! You know nothing about anything, but got a lot of advisers who are being paid by big money. So follow the advice, and you're doing exactly what the real powers that be want. Your reelection is almost guaranteed!

I lol'ed.

It's sad she feels this way, because she's been great for gaming in general, to be honest. I think she may be overreacting (let's be honest, even IF the two guys with gamer tshirts were part of the shit trolls, said shit trolls would never, EVER dare open their mouths in public) to it, but still, it's sad.

I commend her for speaking up.

Minimum 680GTX? Wha...?

So either your engine is a terrifying piece of shit, or you're just putting up ridiculous requirements to hopefully stop it from running like a terrible piece of shit.
