Thanks for info guys. I just loaded Win7 on it for simplicity for him. he doesn't have an MSN account, and I wasn't going to walk him through all of that. He is good with Win7, we will just leave it at that.

One very cool tool I used, since I had to do a fresh install of Win7 and all drivers for this Toshiba model are Win8, this tool worked like a dream - so much so that I donated to the site.

Driver Identifier.

No more trying 10 different things not knowing what that stupid little yellow question mark is. Thing worked like a dream. Awesome.

Never heard of that before, thanks Bats!

I'm personally looking forward to it. I like the changes to the start menu, the win8 style file transfers, and native support for multiple desktops (bout time!). I guess i'm in the minority though.

Oh, I'll actually get Windows 10 when it comes out (well, once the first SP is out anyway). I don't have an issue with the OS itself, as it looks pretty solid.

I take issue with Microsoft continuously mouthing off with their bullshit "THIS WILL BE THE BESTSEST FOR TEH PC GAMURZ!" and the game 'media' just parroting those blatant lies whole every.single.fucking.time.

I could see a 30 day jail sentence as reasonable but five years? Waaaay over the top and not beneficial to anyone.

Bullshit. Sending a SWAT team to someone's house "for the lulz" runs the very real risk of those people actually BEING FUCKING KILLED for no other reason than that some shitbag online took some kind of offense at something they said.

Fuck that thirty days noise.

I think 8/8.1 hooks up to the xbox store or something. I briefly poked around in it, but there were too many roadblocks when I was just trying to play a game of solitaire.

{Windows 10 clippy} It looks like you're trying to play a game of Solitaire. Would you like help with that? {/Windows 10 clippy}

This and the other Cities game should sort out their naming because it's fucking confusing!

Yeah, I know. I believe this is the one from the guys who made the pretty shitty Cities XL series (you know, that series that uses one CPU core and thus every city above a certain size chugs like crazy, no matter the fact you have 16 fucking Xeon cores in your rig), and thus should probably be ignored.

Cities: Skylines is the one that offers cities that dwarf SimCity 4 and looks actually promising.

But I may be confusing the two...

Well, when my expectations are now zero...

Rather than saying the original Watch Dogs under-delivered, he says they "over-achieved" in creating expectations for the series.

Wow, that's some awesome kool-aid...

PREORDER NOW!!!!!!!!

We promise we'll have an intern actually download the game and see if it runs installs(*) on Suzy's old Vostro 220 this time!

(*) Please don't make grandiose promises.

And so the idiot government / rating board's attempt to keep this material out of the hands of the people only winds up hurting developers who worked hard to make a living out of creating said material.

Well done. Bravo. Golfclap

You make it sound as though unobtainium wasn't a product of literary genius. The visuals were good, but the writing had the depth of a desert puddle.

Plus, I'm pretty sure The Core used the term unobtainium long before James Cameron ever got hard thinking about a skinny blue chick fucking a skinny doofish blue guy.

Unobtainium dates back to the 50s or earlier. It's popularly used in a lot of fields in the sense of "If we had a support/tether/heatsink/blah/blah/blah made of unobtainum, then we could do X."

Learned something new.

Well, I'm at the point where I have to seal the big breach (which will be like the end of the first act I suspect). We'll see if shit picks up after that.

Heh. Yeah, it actually does. Six new zones open up, coincidentally five of the best ones, you get something pretty damn cool, and the story gets a lot more interesting too.

Also, that binary choice, while definitely a Bioware'ian thing, is actually there for a reason in DA:I, but you'll find that out pretty shortly.

I think the mission to close the breach is actually one of the game's finest ones.
